This was a perfect video and exactly what I was hoping you'd post. I finally got my first color mutation on my argentavis project (and it was a male!). Hey Tag! I'm really happy seeing this vid and the fact you took time to read the guide I suggested you! (About the location of dinos and the fact a mutation could target a non-existant location etc) I already known what you said in this vid but this is a good strarting guide for breeders and that's why I liked the video :) I just wanted to try explaining you something that could help you if you're targeting stats mutations one day but i'm Belgian and my english is quite limited haha. Well.. The fact is the number of mutation you see is not the real nomber of mutations the dino has. This system is just poorly done, indeed it just takes the previous number (from both parents) instead of showing the real number of mutation. For exemple, you breed two dino lvl 100 and get a lvl 102. It has one mutation, we'll say in HP. You breed again and again and get another one with the exactly same mutation (in HP). So if you breed them together, you'll get a 102 dino with only one mutation in HP BUT the three will show you 2 mutations (One from the father and one from the mother). In reality you only have one mutation, not two. To avoid this problem and make things easier, you must keep the first couple and always use one of them to breed with your mutated newborn dino. So you have one 102 (mutation in HP) then you breed him with his mother or father until you get a lvl 104, who takes the good stat (the lvl 102's with the hp mutation) and get one more mutation, again in HP. And here you have a lvl 104, who has a three that shows you 2 mutations and who actually has 2 mutations. Because the parent from the first couple will always has 0 mutation in his three. The you kick the lvl 102 out and replace him with the lvl 104, and go on again and again to have a lvl 180 who has 20/20 mutation both sides and actually has 40 real mutations. This is hard to explain and not my mother language but I tried haha, hope you can get it and pleas forgive me for the so many mistakes :p Hope to see you soon in another vid, keep the great job up!

Love the breeding vids. Very helpful. One question though, maybe I missed in a prior video: How did you get your thylas wedged into the door frames with thier buts sticking out? Is it a capability of SE or S Plus? I play on The Island currently on Xbone. I can't seem to get my thylas to fit in a 1x1 square, or to stay put if I do manage to wedge them in.

What if ark implemented something that make's players sell/trade dinos like the PVE Official players play for breeding and stuff, and PVP Official just cross and buy/trade some dinos, and then like the server 100 PVE is known for having good mutated rex's and the 101 good giga's etc, you can't really breed on pvp that much :P

i hope you have time to read this messge, I rlly want a good rex for bosses, with a hp or melee mutation, how can I get a male and female at the same lvl and same stats? and what need it to do to get the mutation

I have a question: my first wolf puppy from a pair of wild wolves has higher health than either parent, it does not say there is a mutation, it was not imprinted or leveled, and none of her babies are inheriting that health. How can this be possible?

How hard is it to get 2 dino's with the same stats? Im new to this so still learning how all this stuff and things work.

How are you getting your base pair? Since babies have a 70% chance of inheriting the best stat between the parents, am I right in assuming the only way to get a higher target stat like hp is to tame more wild Thylos? If that is the case how do you know when you've reached a respectable value in your targeted stat? When you're doing the process of getting your base pair, you would just kill any offspring that had a mutation to keep the lines clean right? Once you have the base pair with max stats, you would then start breeding them hoping for mutations starting from that 0/20 point so that you can stack as many stat mutations as possible before your max out right?

does it matter if you have other colors on an animal ? ( 1 color from before) will it still mutate other colors if i have several ones with different colors ?

I noticed when your babies are born, they gain health rather than lose it. Is that true? I just noticed they were not dying immediately. i mainly play single player, is there a way to fix this on my single player? Something with the game.in? Thanks, and your videos are great!

I'm breeding thyla, and I got one with a very blue tummy, will that blue always stay on the tummy or can it move to another spot on them like the side or back stripe?

My Rex's always pop out with 12570 Health and 437% Melee no mutations then I have another red Rex with 7/20 on maternal and 34/20 on paternal same stats I'm trying to go for melee mutation our highest Rex popped out with 449%

Hey, great video man, very helpful! I just wanna ask one thing to be sure, you don't have to actually imprint them until you wanna keep it for yourself, right? So, I'm going for stats first, get all of them to 1 female and male with same level and 0 mutation and those would be base ones, and once i get that I start breeding for mutations until I get what i want and THEN imprint that final product to keep for myself to get the bonus stats? Also one more concern, I know you also get extra bonus for the very first breed of a 120/150 max level perfect tame, but I wonder if that bonus sticks with the non-imprinted dinos you breed for stats and just adds up to the final imprinted one (why i wanna know if you need to imprint them from start or not), I know it doesn't add more bonuses for next breeds I just wanna know if it still adds that bonus to my final product that I should get on start if I imprinted the first one. I hope you can answer me asap as I wanna breeeed alot :P Cheers

Do you breed the same Dino's or do you have to constantly get new Dino's out from the wild because the mutation percentage is lower after getting a mutation on two Dino's. Or does the mutation chance stay the same?

So if you have 2 dinos over the 20/20 and breed them if theirs a stat mutation in chart can they mutate a stat still? I have breed ones in 10,000's and it pulls colors from past mutations.

Ore you could just breed in 0/20 dinos like wild dinos but once you hit 100/20 with no visible stat or color mutation that dino is a waste and i would say start over never get rid of your 0/20 dinos ever your clean dinos is more valuable then a stat mutated dino also you want to keep your stat mutations on one side of the tree normally the male also breeding the same level dinos most people tame a wild dino and think if i level it im going to fuck up my breeding line which is not true breeding together two dinos of the same level is more important then keeping them vanilla
