All Might has been one of my favourite MHA characters for a long time, but My Hero Academia Chapter 386 has the potential to ruin it all. How much damage can this do to All Might? Let's talk about it.

While I am 1000% against All Might dying at all, if he had to die, I'd much rather have him die saving someone's life on his own. No gear, no nothing. Just a man showing his students that true heroism is about who you are and not what you can do. Granted, half the final arc has been hammering home this message to the point that I'm tired of it, but if making All Might's death suck less I can deal with hearing it one more time.

What I hate the most about this plot twist is that it retroactively turns the moment in chapter 1 where he tells Midoriya that he can’t work as a quirkless hero since it’s far too dangerous for regular people into him somehow being wrong? The entire reason he gave Deku OFA was BECAUSE he realized that’s all he was missing to be a pro hero, since he stepped into action when no one else (even pros and himself) would, having support items be good enough to fight any villains kinda ruins that message
@maokamui
@maokamui Год назад
But it was wrong since day one? Mineta's quirk, for example, can be entirely replaces by a support item, and as a demerit he is a little person. Quirkless people should have an advantage over him.
@Jaymizuband
@Jaymizuband Год назад
@@maokamui Who’s to say Mineta can’t just get a support item to amp his? This is literally what Bakugo’s gauntlets do. They store his SPECIFIC nitroglycerin sweat to recreate his blast at their strongest without down side of recoil damage. The thing is Bakugo CAN still opt into do it naturally. The story never delves into the possibility of support item type heroes. Giving the impression that quirk users are just a whole another level. Support gear is made in mind of existing quirk to amp or “support” the user. Despite that All Might made a point to not rely on solely support gear regardless. What support item replicates what Mineta’s quirk? His quirk is actually decently versatile.

Maybe All Might could have gotten on an intercom and told people to hold out hope. As a sort of rallying cry for people to stand in AFO's way to stall him. I think that would be a better way for him to use his status. Or maybe he could have had professional connections to some of the pros who quit, and he could have asked them personally. I agree, once I think of Iron Might in that light, it is disappointing

I thought it was a pretty great approach tbh. He had to hold back one for all, and he's the only one who OFA would be dumb enough to waste time trying to kill. Allmight had to come up with some realistic way to stop him, hence the iron man suit. The entire time you see Allmight getting wrecked and smiling and finally tries to blow himself up. I honestly always expected this because of nighteye's prophecy. I never once considered AFO and All might to take a back seat from the story, especially AFO considering his selfish personality to just "give" shigaraki everything is a contridiction. I do agree though that iron man all might is pretty damn stupid. I expected a quirkless all might trying to protect someone one last time, reiterating deku from chapter one, ending his life as a sacrifice. All might being a selfless mentor helping deku and AFO'S selfish, clinging to his life to remain relevant through shigiraki's body was where I thought this going. Afo vs all-might round 3 is kinda the opposite of the whole mentor thing from all might's side of the coin.

To me this was the great oath that All Might and Deku made to each other, that no matter what the two of them would change their fates and in doing so become men better than their predecessors... But Hori decided that that message meant as much as the rest of the messages he threw away in pursuit of this anti-climactic... climactic confrontation between All Might and All For One.

Tbf we haven't even seen what the suit can do yet and how well it can even keep up with AFO. For all we know this is the only suit that exists and they might not have enough materials to make one for everyone. We've already seen instances of quirkless people attempt to keep up with those with quirks by using support items, so I think it makes sense for the series to showcase the "ultimate support item". Plus, it follows the original theme of still being able to be a hero even without a quirk
@andresmarrero8666
@andresmarrero8666 Год назад
@@waltz4life it invalidates that theme because it makes the whole matter pointless. The fact is that the suit does exist so why aren't there iron men flying about? Why hasn't the military made this as part of their standard equipment? Why aren't there companies building, developing, and selling these suits? With the existence of I-island, U.A. being turned into Autobot city, a flying battlefield, and stealth fighters with lasers and force fields there is really no good reason why these suits are not wide spread and why there was such a focus on flashy quirks when anyone can invalidate that by putting on a suit.
@waltz4life
@waltz4life Год назад
@@andresmarrero8666 like I said, maybe it's the only suit that's available or that can be made. We've yet to get any details about the suit so it doesn't really invalidate anything until we get an explanation. You're jumping the gun a bit imo. It could be a prototype and they haven't gotten around to making more of it yet. Even if more of the suit did exist, it doesn't invalidate flashy quirks but rather allows quirkless people a way to keep up in a quirk-centric society. And that's assuming the suit will even stand a chance against AFO
@andresmarrero8666
@andresmarrero8666 Год назад
@@waltz4life and why are there no one doing that? If anyone can put on such a suit then the focus on flashy quirks shouldn't have been such a societal factor. You keep saying that the suit has limitations but that presumption has little traction due to what has been shown at this point. Makeshift self altering fortresses and flying battlefield very much invalidates the logistics of power armor. At the very least there is little reason as to why such technology is not held and utilized by the military and places like U.A.

To add oil to the fire, AM dying here would go against the lesson he learned in Kamino. Because back then he had the chance to permanently kill AFO but at the cost of his life. But AM remembered that Izuku still needed him in his life as a mentor and father figure and opted to stay alive for Izuku's sake. Dying at Kamino or now in the final arc would traumatize Izuku, reaffirm his belief that he should stayed alone to protect his loved ones. Also AM dying would come at the worst time for Izuku whose willpower could break making it easier for AFO or Shigaraki to steal OFA forever.

It doesn’t go against the lesson he learned from Kamino and I think you missed multiple points here. Yes back than he knew Izuku still needed him, but now after all the training and guidance, All Might himself knows Deku has become more independent and doesn’t look back at him for approval anymore. At this point, it’s reassuring All Might that Deku can handle himself just fine now on his own. And true, All Might still opted to stay alive for Izuku’s sake and knew he still needed his guidance. But you also missed when All Might said these exact words, “I will protect your son! Even if it cost me my life!” And that’s exactly what he’s doing here. All Might had two options, either 1, stand back and do nothing while AFO and Shigaraki jump Deku, take OFA and kill him or Risk his life in order to protect him and keep AFO from interrupting his students fight. Now if we truly know All Might as a character and what he’s said in the past, which option do you think he would’ve chosen?

My big issue with all might and this moment is that he’s barely had any presence in this story post kamino and I get it he can’t fight anymore in a battle shonen but even when he didn’t in seasons 1-3 he still had a notable presence in guiding midoriya to new possibilities about hero work and or revealing stuff about this past that will become integral later, after kamino he’s just kinda there to occasionally talk about a plan for midoriyas quirks or the war and can I just say I never liked how in less than a year of his retirement the worlds on the verge of the apocalypse, nearly all his fellow heroes and students have repeatedly failed to subdue and or defeat the same villains they’ve been dealing with for years when they should by all means have more resources and had the element of surprise thanks to hawks? It just feels like all might was right the whole time, that the world did need him to be a nigh invincible demi god because everything post my villain academia has proven the world’s thoroughly screwed without him. Why trust this new generation of heroes? @@fightingmedialounge519Maybe not subversive, but season 1-4 was setup to not be just a shooty-punchy anime. We start in a world where people have powers, and we see a societal setup that works to keep that chaos minimal, but with its flaws more than hinted at. We follow a bunch of starry eyed kids wanting to burst into the world, save the day and continue on. Slowly, the complexities stack on. We see at USJ that villains may not be the easy targets we think. We see at the sports festival, first presented to just be a normal thing, might be a decently messed up aspect of Hero society. Then stain (hypocrite that he is) point blank brings up some issues with Heroes efficiency, and public perception. As villain backstories start dropping, major issues like quirk discrimination, hands off civilians, heroes getting away with abuse and crimes, lacks if safeties for children coming in with superpowers, and a lack of help for "off" or "bad" quirks suddenly isn't a people slipping through the cracks problem, it's all a LARGE SCALE problem. The Overhaul arc was the last breath before the plunge. He's a clear cut villain, nothing to feel bad for, but even with such clean cut morales at play, getting a mission together and Eri out is a complex, convoluted process. Immediately after we meet Hawks, and his backstory and situation make it clear as day. Government forces, backed by societal expectation, are causing these issues or ignoring them in favor of keeping face and gaining personal power , setting a stage for selfish or anguished people to lash out. This story was going to be subversive and convoluted, at the least touching on a variety of interpersonal and cultural problems, with the setup of everyone, from heroes to business class to civilians, needing to be Heroes to help the world as much as they could. It was about needing everyone, from All mightean power to the hackers to the office workers needing to work together abd do their best The older generation gave a framework for peace, and the youth (hopefully at graduation and not all in their 15th year) now needed to fill the wall with intricatly cut stone. Instead the torch never gets passed, the government is killed in 1 day before they answer for anything, and everyone is thrown into punchy-shooty fights with one of the most plot deviced villains I've ever heard of. Themes get repeated (bakugo "dies" twice, we delay Shiggy in the war arc, with stars and stripes abd continually again with AFO, Hawks loses his feathers and almost dues, gets it back, an illusion of him dies, he comes back, and then his wings are finally taken, Deku keeps having to go rogue, All Might keeps repeating his arc, and I could go on) and more because Horikoshi completely abandoned his setup and had nowhere to go.

From Deku to Kirishima to Bakugo to All Might to Nana, the series always touches on the idea of supreme self sacrifice being a bad thing, but never fully commits to it. However, as for this being "out of nowhere regression", I don't think thats the case. 326 and 327 completely reoriented All Might's character back to being on this path. In 327, it wasn't just one line of dialogue which indicated he planned to get back into action, it was his entire internal. Literally all of it was about how he was going to become a piece on the board again and reach the same heights as his pupils. This is a very different direction from Aizawa's speech to All might, which the series sort of thoroughly condemns as being kind of worthless advice by the time that he encounters stain. Funnily enough, Aizawa's advice is shown to be completely inadequate at relieving All Might's anxiety about his self worth.

He made it clear after his first fight (on screen) with All For One he was leaving things to Midoriya now and it feels like he’s gone back on his word now. Plus he told Midoriya during their first encounter that it was impossible to be a hero without a quirk, yet he’s now trying to do exactly that, that was definitely going back on his word. This video was very well made, as for the events that were shown in Chapter 386 I have split feelings on, it was pretty much guaranteed that if All Might was to fight one more time it would be in the Finale though I was always worried that if it came to that it would be slanted plot wise being that A.) it would over shadow the importance of Kamino’s Fight being that it would be epic but not that story crucial/impactful. Or B.) it would be really underwhelming and All Might would most likely die and it would seem pointless or worthless with the exception that it was used to kill All Might. I’m not really sure how this one will turn out though currently it looks like it might be a weird mix of the two. On another note I think this is some kind of Plot Loaded Gun being that back in the School Festival arc we had All Might tell Midoriya not to over rely on Support Items being that he himself has seen many pro heroes fail because they had to much reliance on Support Items, so it seems that if they call back to that he’ll probably die. Also as for Support Items bolstering someone, with how they brought back the Gauntlets from Two Heroes I thought it would have been more likely that All Might’s Suitcase would’ve had Dave’s Masterpiece (a rebuilt version) being that they said it itself can make someone and their Quirk 20 Times Stronger then what they once were and since it was All For One in his Prime accentually they could of had Pseudo Prime All Might thanks to that Support Item. Though those are just my thoughts. =]

@nobuffer101
@nobuffer101 Год назад
I'm actually willing to defend All Might in this regard in that despite his presence alone being enough, for someone like him who once acted because he felt powerless, being a pedestal wouldn't sit right with "Toshinori Yagi". Just as some actual veterans would heroically take up arms once more for the sake of defending the country they once protected, Toshinori wants to do more than sit on his ass. At the same time, while I still agree that a lot of MHA's themes and plots have long since been thrown out the window, All Might probably believe that a relic like himself isn't needed anymore since people like Midoriya and the rest of Class A (because shounen reasons) "are there". But that still doesn't mean he can sit and do nothing. AT THE VERY BEST, both of them die in their fight to try and symbolize the inevitable death of the old so the conflict can actually focus on Shigaraki and Midoriya. Also, I don't want to put any blame on Horikoshi because I feel like it's more his editor's fault than anything. In that the decline in MHA's pacing and storytelling started to be noticeable after Horikoshi's previous editor was replaced with an infamously strict one. The previous editor oversaw the Festival Arc, the MVA Arc, the Endeavor Arc, and half of the War Arc, which we know is the height of MHA's worldbuilding, pacing, AND storytelling. Of course, some of those arcs ended up covering some controversial topics to the Japanese audience... like to them, they were REALLY controversial. So it would be reasonable for the publisher to try and stave off any further controversy and "punish" the culprit but continue the popular series by sticking them with an incredibly strict editor that's been known to tailor stories to his own ideals causing the axe the fall on 3 very promising series in the past. But news flew around that that editor got replaced a short while ago, and the first thing that Horikoshi really did (as in it was almost literally 1-2 chapters after the news was released) was kill Bakugou. A fan favorite character and something that's not really practiced by very popular mainstream shounen anymore. So chances are, they put Horikoshi on a leash during the War arc, and when they decided to loosen it, Horikoshi immediately pissed them off. I don't want to throw Horikoshi under the bus if it's possible that multiple controversies basically led to management intervening. And Horikoshi probably can't do anything because of his contract. So if anything, I blame his editor instead of him. Because no person can honestly just bust out the levels of detail in storytelling found in MVA and then proceed to follow up with Villain Hunt. It's too sharp of a fall and too drastic of a change, it just doesn't happen without a reason. All Might should've died at Shigaraki's hands, but I can see that Horikoshi is trying to deal with the hand he's been dealt. Because it'd be even more ridiculous if All Might showed up in the middle of Shigaraki's fight. Edit: One more thing I want to add, is that at the very least I want to say that Horikoshi has managed to nearly perfect character development with "progression through regression". And Shigaraki and All Might are the best examples of that practice, while Midoriya kind of falls a little flat in this regard. What I mean by this, is that sometimes a great character isn't "complicated" but can also be simple. So there are times when characters are trying hard to be engaging through "complexity" when at times it can be as simple as returning to the basics. For Shigaraki, he had tried to hard before MVA to be some schemer/mafia boss type of villain. The kind of villain with a strong motive that "justifies" his actions allowing for a morally gray conflict. But the issue was that that wasn't Shigaraki's style. Justification is only an excuse, underhanded tricks are only proof of weakness, in the end, everything was just a mask for one's inherent desire to destroy, and no one truly needs "justification" to do whatever they want. So Shigaraki destroyed that mask, seeking to destroy simply because he wants to destroy, and he won't lie about that anymore. And just like that, all that "complexity" is thrown out the window and what takes its place is a truly ruthless and unstoppable force of death and destruction, acting purely out of satisfaction. There is no reason. With All Might, having become quirkless once more, is now an older reflection of his past self. In the same regard, he's "regressed" to his reckless youth and driven by his desire to do something rather than nothing, even if he has no power at all. In a way, his stand here is further proof of his unwavering spirit and metaphorical return to true heroism. In a sense, all his experience and views as a professional hero is now "regressed" back to its origin, the burning desire to help. And to be honest, it just fits All Might. But I won't lie though, I know this same thing was what was attempted for Midoriya, what with the whole "I want to save the crying Shigaraki", but it _really_ didn't land. At least it worked for Shigaraki and All Might.

I won't blame the audience too much though, considering that even they complained about how MVA was treated during the airing of Season 5. To be fair, if you wrote a story that was essentially a cautionary tale of the duality of heroism and villainy, but then audience reception and management don't like the in-depth story you're trying to write, so after you've established everything, you're forced to throw it out the window because there's no such thing as "grey" in the black and white of heroes and villains. Everything is now somehow AFO's fault and _definitely_ not caused by the inevitable consequences of their superhero society, sideline the best character (Shigaraki) for the final arc, over-glorify heroism, and essentially just support the message your story was actually against. Anyone would be mad if they couldn't be allowed to write the story they wanted to write. Seriously, the whole message of MHA was that heroes create villains, and a society that exploits heroism by extension, creates villains. And a society that blindly allows this to happen, or even worse, ignores the problems it creates and only offers solutions that makes things worse, probably isn't one worth protecting. Their "superhero society" generated a "supervillain society". That entire message gets thrown out the window because "Everything was all part of AFO's plan." Society isn't at fault, AFO is. The heroes are always right because they are "heroes". Realistic problems cannot be solved by naive ideals. But now the story says otherwise. There is no longer a gray line that puts the heroes and villains on equal ground, which made the entire conflict incredibly engaging. Now the story, and by extension, the anime, want to focus and glorify the very same heroic actions that gave birth to the villains. Because management won't let Horikoshi focus on the villains and instead glorify heroism, the cycle only ever continues. MHA, by an ironic twist of fate, became a victim of its own "heroism". Edit: Don't get me wrong though, there are most likely plenty of times that Horikoshi probably did the best with his situation. Nagant, Toga's house, even Bakugou's apology, there are plenty of times where that really human side of Horikoshi's writing is present. But when management is basically breathing down you're neck for years because the audience wants you to glorify the heroes and encourage what you were warning against, and there's no escape. The stress can build up, and the moment you get a second of freedom you express your frustrations knowing full well it'd be undone, by killing a fan favorite character, and then bringing him back. Horikoshi can't write the intense story he wants to write but is forced to continue writing a mediocre one. The only moments of creative freedom he probably gets now is few and far between. So I can understand giving it your all in those brief moments. Because there really seems to be a drastic difference in expression and narrative for certain chapters, and the ones that shine seems more akin to the kind of detail and passion Horikoshi had during MVA. But again, those moments rare, but surprisingly noticeable.

I imagine e.m.ps (like the ones used by Shigaraki) and similar devices would definitely do the job, and if quirkless suits began retal manufacture villans would definitely begin producing them. Secondly, immediately after All-Mights defeat at the hands of A.f.o, Bakugo swoops in to finish the job. Considering how one sided the previous fight was, we can assume that Bakugo is considerably more strong than the iron might suit. With Quirk doomsday, why bother investing in something that can be shown up by a highschool freshmen? When most people already have quirks, spending so much money to compensate for one doesn't make sense. Not to mention, All-Might was only able to buy and pilot the thing since hes been a pro for 30 odd years. Lastly, being a Hero isn't about a fancy mech suit or quirk for whatever, its about your will and desire to help others. This is actually a fine take based on not knowing the whole story, I think that one thing you failed to do is look at the possibilities. This one instance is to define and resolve the questions "Can you be a hero with out a quirk." This also could help the story in SEVERAL different directions. One if all powers are lost this one fight shows that people don't have to despair. This also allows the second moment where if no quirk almighty can fight one of the strongest enemies with out a quick then literally anyone could and no one directly needs external heroes but to be a hero for themselves. Also you mention support gear shouldn't be able to do much? However what your failing to recognize is the truth that its not that "Support gear is trash" but that generally speaking there was no reason to use massive amounts of support gear as quirks were a massive power that was easy to access. Anytime in history that something is proven to be equal to or greater than the current best weapon or advancement, the old way is shelved. I see your frustration but I feel like this whole point boils down to "This isn't my hero academia, it didn't work out how I wanted it to and what I think is best." Cool, you can have that opinion, but it not our story. There are lots of interesting conclusions this could have but when you only focus on the negatives it gives little room for the story that could be.

I would agree with everything in this video if All Might just has a straight up slugfest with AFO here with no further nuance to it. But this video feels a bit premature. I'd wait and see how this plays out before I released this video if I were you. This doesn't feel wreckless to me yet like his earlier work as AM. They hammer home how important it is AFO doesn't meet up with shiggy and that there's no one around who's capable of fighting atm. And this is the final battle, not a meaningless bank robbery. If AM holds AFO here for a few extra minutes and buys time for other heros to rally then that's an incredibly wise and meaningful action, not a foolhardy throwing away of all his development like you frame it as.

I think you've missed the point of the video drastically. All Might going in front of the strongest man in the world with a suit of tin foil armor is bad for his character for every reason I listed throughout the 11 minute long video. It's reckless, it's suicidal, and goes against every bit of progression Toshinori has had in the story. There is almost no outcome here that makes this justifiable unless he's literally a hologram. They hammer home how important it is for AFO not to meet Shiggy, yet he's in warp range of Shiggy. There is no one around capable of fighting because Horikoshi made that the case to justify having All Might come here. The point is, I do not like the foundation. I don't like that Hori made the only choice All Might, because I don't want him to be here. I think this event happening in 99% of scenarios is a fundamental failure of his character. It feels even more reckless than All Might's previous work, because he is literally powerless against prime All for One. This to me DOES throw away all of his development.

Not agreed but opinions exist after all. Sorry if my English isn't the best, not native speaker, but here I go: The reason for his arrival on the battlefield is simple: During the villain hunting arc, All Might feels useless because he can't help the apprentice he swore to protect, but when he meets Stain, he shows him how he cannot give up after everything he represented to many people, and what was All Might going to do, stand idly by? Of course not! It was clear that after that emotional encounter he had to act, not just reflect in silence, that would have felt really uncooked (that's the exact same situation Rei had in number 387). Also, during the villain hunt arc (again) He acts like a true hero without realizing it, since at the moment he faces 2 delinquents, alone and without QUIRK, he still shows his heroism and bravery despite everything. Stain served to show him that what he was doing was still worthy of admiration, as our favourite killer was embarrassed to see All Might like that and he indirectly explains to him that he's still a reference due to his efforts (or in other words, he shows him he still is an AMAZING hero) but he (All Might) cannot realize it due to the young man's situation.This encounter with Stain basically motivates him to keep getting better despite his state. I know that the series does not deal with this so directly, but we are not stupid and we do not need to be told ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in our faces, because there are things that are simply deep, like this character, All Might. Also, when Deku saved Baku from the mud villain, he definetly prooved that quirkless people can be an admirable heroes. That impacted All Might, and now he shows what he learnt from that event. AND, this series has shown US multiple times quirkless characters being really heroic, like Mirio when fought Overhaul with 0 super powers, or how quirks can destroy lifes, just like Tenko Shimura's situation, so quirks are not always what their general image represents. These last 2 points may be silly, but damm, when I think about them, makes me admire how DEEP (again) this series is, so cool!

I feel like doing this kind of just makes it pointless. I get he shouldn’t just stand idly by, but there are better ways than to have an iron man moment against prime AFO. And besides a few things, the series really isn’t that deep dude especially nowadays with everything tossed aside for the most part so don’t get ahead of yourself
@frontiersmodel4781
@frontiersmodel4781 Год назад
@@jeffali5157 Well I get your point, but I like the fact that All Might had to collaborate with the UA electrical accessories team for creating his iron armor, because it creates a certain situation, which is that so different people help each other, In addition, All Might claimed to work and support himself along the young ones of the academy, which causes secondary characters to have their own importance even in the final arc. That is one of the reasons why I love this series, the secondary characters shine a lot, they are really worth it and contribute a lot to the story, especially in the last arcs, and being able to see All Might collaborating with this people shows how much things have changed and how willing he is to work alongside the people who inspires every day and also to complete his goal, end this once and for all. Oh, and I'm saying it's deep for multiple reasons, not just because of this, as there are plently of plot conflicts that get really deep, like for an example: how Deku wants to save Tomura, is explained by himself, but still there are some other reasons that are beyond those words like their plot parallelism and such.
@jeffali5157
@jeffali5157 Год назад
@@frontiersmodel4781 the secondary characters barley shine at all throughout the series aside from a few stand outs like endeavor. Having one moment doesn’t necessarily mean they are so important if the next part shows it’s all for nothing much less worth it cause again, they dont do much if at all except at the very end which is pretty shallow and lazy if you’re not gonna do much with them. And some parallels and themes are good but others needed a lot more workarounds.

All might did not wore the Iron might armor to become all might again he wore that armor because without power he returned into the same child he was before . Toshinori's presence doesnt inspire greatness to the people araound him like how it was with all might . Because toshinori doesnt stand against the odds and says " i am here " if he just stand still he wouldnt achive a big thing , if he just went as a human he wouldnt achive anything . Him going with an armor that at least can hold him for few minutes is "he tried his best but failed" moment for all might . Reminding the world and himself that until you die its not over yet.

@@M.W.2 I'm sorry but that's incorrect. The new ground is coming from several heroes and students using their quirks and skills together to replace a technically complex series of separate blocks (as to stall Shigaraki's Quirk) and is very much not permanent (it's running off of Yaoyorozu's quirk and others, which will eventually exhaust the heroes), and there is no forcefield to my knowledge except the pumped up quirk of Gentle which is helping to hold it in the air. It *is* a rather sudden reveal, seeing as there was only a few chapters of buildup to it's usage, but it simply represents a new development in the technological capability of the society, maybe as they reach the Quirk Singularity point.

This anime has honestly been a disappointment since S3 ended. Deku sucks, so much Deus Ex Machina, nothing of substance really happens, and the entire thing drags on FAR TOO LONG. They've been fighting the same fight in the manga now for over a year of our real life. But the story started to shit itself with all that crap about the rot in hero society (not stain's stuff who had a point) and so much underground whatever. It undermines All Might being a symbol of peace at all. I wish All Might became an actual mentor to Deku, but I can't recall one good thing Deku has learned either in philosophy, heroism, technique, strategy, etc. Deku keeps getting asspulls of powerups. Deku should have never had his stupid emo moment.
