I think your marriage is even more inspirational than your business success, and I already think your business success is amazing! I wish I could have a partnership like that. So much trust and so much cohesion and family first thinking. Bring him back, I love those "beginning" of the journey stories. Especially ones where it's a little ghetto and scrappy. So relatable and it makes your success seem more attainable from people looking in from the outside who only see the version of you "after" the success. I like how in the beginning you're just like one of us, clueless and at times helpless but you've always had drive
Buy a 2nd laser and set both of them up the same way. Alternate every other week between machines. That way you will always have a machine ready to make parts If one machine goes down. Make a backup plan.
I am so happy to see this video... Please more of him... My husband is the exact copy of Wes. He meets my needs before I even have to ask :) My husband knows every single packaging size out there and made amazing friends with the guys at the post office :))) Its really so much more fun when your partner is on the same page!
Thank you for this video! It was great value added for those of us just starting out. It is very lonely. I recently got out of the Marine Corps after 14 years, and my spouse is still active duty at 20 years. I am handling all of the business and two little ones under the age of three. He works at MARSOC so he mainly helps with the kiddos in the evening and on weekends. I appreciate hearing the journey and the “not glam”moments. All I seem to see and hear is “it was a lot of work” but the struggle is skipped over. Thank you for sharing, inspiring and including me and other new business owners in this wild ride and journey. Love seeing hubby too! You are a great team!
Thank you for your service. This is such an inspiring video . The power of teamwork, perseverance, hardwork, delayed gratification while working on your goals, resilience and good planning.Such good qualities to have.
We're a military family too, trying to get our etsy business going! It's nice to have someone that is successful that I can relate to on a personal level. Thanks for the inspiration!
This sounds legit, not someone bragging about money. Its so cool to hear what you actually went through, the difficulties and the amazing ways you found to overcome all of them with a creative and determinate mindset. Bravi
Beautiful couple & family! You deserve all the great success your are experiencing. Thank you for being so real, so honest & inspiring so many lives. Hope rising! Love can overcome anything.
Awwww you made me cry at the stocked supplies in the garage! Love that you can work so well together! It's so important to support each other. Love that you share your reality.
We completely understand the loneliness of successful entrepreneurship. We have an Etsy shop that has taken off. Last year we hit six figures just for the last six months of the year. We can’t talk about it with anyone it seems like.
This video is very inspirational! Great to see Wes on your show! Congratulations on your success in life, you both have earned it. My partner and I will continue to work as hard as we possibly can to make our dream life come true...we couldn't imagine doing this without your guidance.
It sounds like if you want to grow a business, you really have to work at it hard. It's wonderful to see a Christian couple working together.... but also its so inspiring to see a mom do it with kids. My goodness, I have loved your channel so much
It was nice to see Wes in this video and to hear how much work and sacrifice it was for you both to acheive the success you have acheived. I am retired and recently opened an Etsy shop. Since this was all new to me I began watching YT videos and have found Dylan’s to be the best in providing a clear-eyed understanding of what it takes to launch and grow an e-commerce venture. This video provided a new perspective for me about the impact on family life and dynamics so I’m sharing it with my wife. I started doing print on demand because, although I’m a retired scientist, I have been a photographer forever with a large collection of digital images. I really enjoy turning my images into shirts, bags, blankets, etc. that I can give to family and friends so selling some of these items seemed like a logical extension. Your video provided a needed reality check so thank you!
loved loved this video! Nice to meet you Wes and what kickass team you guys have! Thank you for sharing some of the reality of a small business journey.
What a beautiful love you both have for each other. You cherish each other and are so loyal. Thank you for sharing your Etsy journey and a BIG YES on seeing more of the both of you! Happy Valentine's Day to you! ❤🥰
Absolutely love seeing the both of you and hearing your story from both perspectives. You're seriously my relationship goals and business goals wrapped up in one package. The love and support your have for one another is so incredibly beautiful!
I loved it 😍 you guys! Thanks for sharing this!!! I think it’s a great move and it will provide a wealth of knowledge to all of us that watch but also to the coaching aspect of things.
Such a great video! Loved learning more about this side of your story especially also from your husband’s perspective! Having a shop is hard work and it’s so much easier with a supportive spouse! More videos with Wes please!
Great vid thanks - Subscribed. Just in the planning stages of starting my business and while researching found your vids.really useful + inspiring. You two look great together and are such a great team. This is high value content that stands in stark contrast to the get rich quick click bait nonsense that is an impossible barrier to success on the internet. Keep up the great work
Such a great video - thanks for sharing your story, what an awesome team you are together. I'm just starting my Etsy journey and all your videos are so helpful, thank you. Wish you all the best for the future!
Congrats on your first two sales in just three days! Here's to crafting your own success story soon! Can I ask, how much would you like to earn per month?
This was so fascinating and inspiring! You guys make a great couple! How did you meet? You should write a book. You’re the best business coaching on the web. I feel like I’m getting my MBA when I listen to you, it all makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you so much, Shannon! We actually met when I was living in Seattle working in e-commerce and he was stationed there on a submarine. I was also a blogger with a pretty large blog at the time and he randomly stumbled upon my blog, realized I lived in the same city, and he asked me to be his date to a military ball via email, never having met each other! The rest was history!
I loved seeing you two together!! It’s so relatable for us to hear about the lonely feeling of friends and family not really understanding on so many levels, regardless of how well meaning, as well as the necessary teamwork and sacrifices that is required to succeed. Power couple 💪🏼 would love to see more of Wes on here ☺️
Thank you for the useful tips and your truthfulness, it is beautiful to see your nice dynamic and how you deal with it. Best of luck with your projects! :)
What a great team! I do understand not having family around. Some of us has to be their own cheerleader and motivator too! I appreciate all of your vids. I do learn so much! Tysm for sharing!
Loved this! Our family has been sacrificing a lot over the past 5+ years paying down debt and we just bought our dream home. Now we are working on adding a couple of streams of passive income including Etsy so this video was perfectly timed! It is definitely a team effort and I really enjoyed hearing your guys' story. Congratulations on all your success! Hard work does pay off! 👏
Very inspiring . I am so happy for your guys and I wish you all the best. I am also an Etsy seller but I keep a low profile , just recently I decided to spend more time on my Etsy shop. Thanks for the videos.
More Wes! Loved this - you guys are a great team, so inspiring! I'm so grateful my husband is supportive and actively helps as well, we love working together 💖
Awe!! You two are amazing!! Not only do you seem to have a good relationship, but you can also work together. My husband has a custom cabinetry and fine furniture shop that I help with and now I’m working on starting an Etsy shop. It’s nice to see another couple who works well together. Thanks for your always inspiring videos!! Oh, and nice to “meet” you Wes! 😊
Thanks so much for sharing your story with us!! Really loved seeing you guys together speaking about everything it entails. It’s definitely hard work for all family members, and I really appreciate you telling us your backstory. Such an inspiration! And, Wes, thank you for your service!
What a great team you make ! Really inspirational video, makes me think on how I can find a project we both can work on using both our skills . Congratulations on your success ! You deserve it ❤
Awesome story guys! Navy veteran here. My wife and I just started our shop. We are about three weeks into it now. We love working together and we do have many late nights working on the business that’s for sure. I was thinking of getting a cnc/laser machine but then found that some print on demand companies sell metal signs. So would you recommend that over you doing yourselves? Yes more Wes for sure!
If you're doing this long term your margins can be higher by cutting out the middleman and you can provide a faster turnaround time/compete on speed of fulfillment. But in the short term while you're testing things and getting proof of concept it's great to utilize the POD model.

Love this story Wes and Dylan.. It sounds so much like what im going through now but I haven't launched a Etsy shop yet. Im headed that way. Love the videos though.
Realy Glad to meet you're humble Husband, an get an idea about how Success is made, and one point i would mention here is that i notice that you're Husband resembles to Jerry Rig in the JerreyRigEverything Yiutube Channel Haha, However i like you both guys! Take care ✌
I found your video encouraging thank you! If you make $300-$400k per month Etsy is only 10% of that, but it seems most if your channel is about Etsy. I’m curious where the other 90% comes from… mainly courses and couching?
So glad you enjoyed it! We have quite a few income streams actually (Shopify, Amazon, real estate, and more...) and Wes has a very good career of his own going!
Hi Dylan, my partner and I work full time and I’m having a hard time finding balance with running my Etsy shop while working full time. We have a baby on the way. Am I being unrealistic with working full time and running Etsy? I feel like the people I have seen with success in Etsy are stay at home moms or retired:(
You absolutely can do both! What is taking the most time for Etsy right now-- keeping up with the amount of orders you receive? Or the work it takes to try to get orders?
When I get busy, it’s keeping up with orders. But I find my business is only busy fall and Christmas. Most of the other times I am spending time trying to make new designs and marketing. I would love to be full time on Etsy but the income hasn’t been consistent enough.
To be at the safer side, why not use different names. Though it'll be much more better to use your already made brand. It makes your shops look more professional. You can reach out to me for better knowledge @florencemajiyagbe
How do Pple make money off Etsy ? They take 85 per cent in Fees ? It might take you an hour or 2 to say design and list something that is only say $2 or $3 to sell ( digital Download) and you get approx 0.67 cents after fees which even an Hour 0.67 cents per hour or if something sells for $27 you end up with around $2 I honestly cannot see how anyone makes anything on this platform.. I honestly do not believe anyone can profit from Etsy the time and money they put into producing and listing then after the 85 % Etsy Fees and yes it is approx 85 % fee s examples above, you couldnt possibly profit
Amazing video. I was crying at the end... The support you give each other is priceless. I read an artical the other day what are the main 2 reasons for a failed bussines. One is lack of capital. Two is a better half not suporting you. I have the second problem. But, never, never, never give up. The amount of creative sollutions I found to be able to have my Etsy store... Thank you for this video, Dylan you are lucky!:)
