How far north did you move, and what's the difference, in your experience? I was born and raised in Houston/Pasadena (Deer Park, specifically) and currently live in ATX.
You and your mom are a wonderful pair to watch. Your audience can feel the strong love that you have for one another. She is so sweet and really entertaining when y’all joke together. Enjoyed the great video and recipe. Y’all are stars!!
Awesome job you two. Glad you still cook with your mom thats awesome. She cooks like my Grandmother did.no measuring devices. All by had. Awesome job brother, enjoy your times with mom.
You had me at the sauce. I bet that would make cardboard taste good. Looks delicious and you definitely need to have your mom on more often. She's delightful.
Hey big shout out to your madre querida. She said, you remember when you used to live in Pecos also and we used to have all those parties. We are still here kicking ass. Puro Tarilas in the establishment
I love watching you and your mother bantering back-and-forth in the kitchen! My mother has passed, but I imagine that if I were to cook with her today would be doing the same thing. Please continue your great videos Arnie… because they’re not only good for the palate, but for the soul as well.
I come back to this video often and make it twice a year or so lol Im from fort Stockton but live in San Antonio now and the only way to get it is to make it so gotta do what I gotta do haha thanks for the added support on anything I wasn't sure of gave me the confidence needed to try it! Looks way harder than it is and the results are amazing! We just call it asado in West Texas
Greetings from alpine tx. We make this outside in an old cauldron with some bone mixed with the meat. Low and slow till meat is tender and brown i deglaze with a little water to loosing bits at bottom. At the very end a little oregano for flavor. Best part is after taking the asado from the pot is scooping the bottom of pot with a tortilla
I moved from Texas💙 a while ago BUT all this food reminds me of home. So glad I found your channel. Luckily I can cook some things but Im loving your channel for the things I don't know. ❤ Cant wait to try your moms recipes too. This looks so delicious!
Keep doing your thing OG,,,you got a beautiful mom🙂,, another great cooking video as always👍,,, and like I said before ,, why go to a restaurant, when you can cook it better at home ,,,, be safe, God Bless ,,TEXAS BORN.😉
I grow this particular pepper every year. It’s one of my faves. It’s even tasty fresh. Thank you so very much for this amazing video. ❤️ Making this now. 😋
I make an almost exact recipe that i got from my mom (although its impossible to match Mama's cooking). Only difference mom also uses California chiles and diced canned nopales towards the end. Delicious with some rice and beans.
Arnie thanks for posting this video. I grew up in West Texas grew up eating Asado. I'm stationed at Ft Hood Texas and it's hard to find anyone that makes it around here. Now with those video I can make on my own.
Hey arnie tex i like this video style it feels more authentic and not full of sales BS etc. thanks!!! I really cook a lot of asian but i want to try more mexican grilling
I’ve never seen Asado in south Texas, never knew what it was till I moved to west Texas. Don’t even see it in restaurants in south Texas, at least I never have. Asado in west Texas Is what carne guisada is to South Texas
