Autistic children have sensitive ears, so you should get him some autism sensory headphones/noise canceling headphones. Him going to school covering his ears the whole time is a struggle, and I can tell you this because I have an autistic twin brother, and one time he forgot his headphones on the bus and his fingers were getting tired from holding his ears so I had to hold them for him edit: ty for 1.6k likes

Yeah I'd suggest earbuds. I'm diagnosed adhd, I could have surism but I not diagnosed or really concerned but I do have issues with a lot of noise especially like downtown traffic where I live. I dont go anywhere without headphones in unless I'm with people and even then sometimes the noise is a lot but I can bear it with people

*some* autistic children. He’s unique in that he’s *sensory seeking* as you’ll see if you watch her other videos. Typically for people with autism that are sensory seeking, their senses are dulled, including sound. This is most likely a rare occasion.

Hi there! I'm a high school student and i notice those with special needs get their own bus in the future, so im sure that will be a great improvement for the boys! Much love and care
@nyxx5357
@nyxx5357 Год назад
Eh, not necessarily. I don't know what kind of school these boys attend, but most public schools lump all kids with special needs together, meaning that any bus designated for those kids is typically just as loud as any other bus. Same thing with the classroom. Because some of the kids with special needs have such low brain function that they literally drool on themselves, the special ed class is typically just a daycare, and the "students" really don't learn much.

Since they have sensitive ears, I would recommend getting noise cancelling earplugs (like the rubber ones not devices such as headphones) and also get them a pair of noise reduction earplugs too where the surrounding noises cuts of to 50% or it wouldn’t be too overwhelming and the reason I don’t recommend headphones is because they have sensory needs so getting an expensive device for them to wear is not the best option, if they find nothing to play with, they would play with the devices

Yall are super patient with your boys its amazing to see! One thing i would try is getting sawyer some noise cancelling headphones, my brother has autism and has super big sensory issues and he loves his headphones, not all kids with autism like them but i just know it works for my brother so it might work for sawyer

I can't tell from this view but as a driver.. best/safest practice, don't approach the bus until its completely stopped. If you can touch the bus before it stops your way to close. Probably minimum 3ft. Danger zone around the bus is 10ft all the way around, unless you are right center of the door. Cute fam

He spends a little over 2 ½ hours on the bus each day (we live about 45km from his school), but it really helps that he is the 1st on and last off. He's 14 now and the bus has really helped him overcome his social anxiety, now he loves greeting other kids and parents each time they stop. ❤ from 🇦🇺

I already see a lot of other people saying this, but just to reinforce it... Noise cancelling headphones are a HUGE help. I really recommend getting a pair for him. I don't have autism, but I do have SPD. Lately I've been really sensitive to sound. I use earplugs, but considering his age, I don't think that would be a great idea for him. Covering my ears all the time is annoying and tiring, so having something you can wear that will do that for you is super helpful.

And it's so embarrassing having him point it out to everyone, and I like cannot physically focus if I can hear someone breathing or anything like that yet it's impossible to get testing accommodations to test in another room just because I'm in honors classes, I'm 3rd in my class so they say I'm "doing fine" but having breakdowns during every test isn't really fine lol, anyways there should be more awareness
