@@HHHPedigrees but everybody already knows there is a predetermined outcome in movies. Are you saying the NBA is rigged, but it is a good business decision to keep quiet?
@@HHHPedigrees WWE isnt acting. Only in the speaking portions maybe. But the matches do have a set winner and they dont hit eachother. But they still get hurt every once in awhile. People even unfortunately died in a couple situations.
Stephen B. Smith it’s not acting you fucking idiot it’s scripted let me throw you off a cell 30+ feet up and see how your acting is?? Let a 300lb man body slam you onto the ring and see how much of the pain you’ll feel is fake??? Truth is wwe is more dangerous than ufc let alone basketball, Tons of things can go wrong in the ring and they have, there’s literally more deaths in wwe than there is nba
@whatsmynameagain Except they train like athletes and do everything an athlete does, including feel pain and get hurt. Pro Wrestling is taxing on a body. Saying that professional wrestling is like acting is not saying enough. Stunt man? Usually they aren't put in dangerous spots that could kill them if not done properly.
Scott foster was in contact with Donaghy far more than anyone else, and does seem to use many of the same tactics donaghy used like calling fouls on shots calling it a foul on the floor to take away the shot, or calling a shooting foul for one team and calling a non shooting foul for the other to balance the number of calls. there was a lot of things donaghy did that refs are still using to manipulate games.
Those are the fake out calls. Basically in every game where there's an agenda, they miss few of those outrageously obvious calls so that the tickytacky fouls they've been calling the other way would be shadowed by one or two highlighted calls (fake outs).
And Lebrons first words " We didn't have a Timeout ? " How could a NBA coach not call timeout , If it was 2K even a KID on Xbox can call a last minute timeout
As much as it is funny, and I doubt JR Smith actually rigged it, but players can also bet on games as well, Im sure Jordan even bet on games thats why he went so damn hard
Jr would've made more money betting on the Cavs to win since the Warriors were the favorites to win the finals so it makes no sense that he would rig his own game.
No he wasn’t. It was dick bavetta who’s known to fix games too. It’s in his book. Donaghy did officiate the suns vs Spurs 2007 series which was clearly rigged.
SOOOOOOOO HE WAS THE ONLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY REF IN THE NBA TO FIX GAMES????????? HAHAHAHAHA. THE NBA MUST STILL FEEL GUILTY ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF THE GAME TO TELL ESPN TO PUT THIS OUT, WE ARE NOT STUPID, THE NBA IS STILL FIXING GAMES
We all know this is still going on in the NBA today. Call 2 quick fouls on certain stats to interrupt the flow of the teams offense. It happens in the playoffs every year.
Happens WAY MORE OFTEN in regular season games that have much less telescopes on it.... The most rigged games are college games. If you were a player that had no prayer of making the NBA, would you turn down $50k to just make sure your team doesn't win by more than 12 (for the sake of argument)?
2002, 2006, 2016 Finals 2016 was rigged for LeBron to keep the Warriors from making history and preserve Jordan’s legacy. I can’t stand LeBron he ruined the league can’t wait for him to retire.
Tim Donaghy was nothing more than a fall guy. The rigging of the 2002 Western Conference Finals came on Stern's orders. Stern has made it very well known that he favors big market teams to drive ratings. No way in Hades that Stern was going to allow the Sacramento Kings to win an NBA title. It would have meant a paradigm shift that would have sent Stern's house of cards tumbling down. Donaghy was just a guy ordered to fall on his sword to preserve the facade for the general public.
@@eddieG667 first of all, the queens choked big time, webber was never near the sphere of carrying a team anywhere like shaq did just with his presence, the rest were hyped busts. if u want to become champions do it like mavs in 2011 sweeping the champs, manhandling okc and what ever defender the heat put up to dirk. And disastrous come on, new jersey is basically new york market and the ones that hate new york or the knicks, New york with 20 million people in it i mean the f . u can have 2 nba teams there plus kept new jersey nets if the rent wasnt that high , also sac town which means everyone who hates LA in san francisco, san jose , rest of california would have bought trikots if its that what u mean. plus kidd and carter would have gained a much deserved ring.
That is so incredibly sketch that the NBA insisted to the feds that their games are IMPOSSIBLE to fix and you definitely shouldn't look into it further.
This is the same ref that admitted refs were rigging games in mjs favor: "it started with Micheal Jordan. The referees used to tell the younger referees that if Jordan goes to the hole and if there is a crowd there then just blow the whistle. That's what the refs are programmed to do."
I met Tim Donaghy at my work (Floor and Decor) in Sarasota about a year ago. He took a picture with me and brought back a signed copy of his book. I helped him with his order. He treated me nice. As an NBA fan this was a very memorable experience for me. Thanks Tim!
Corruption happens in every sports in the world and it’s sad.. That’s why I never get stress about sports anymore. There are so many powerful people behind all this shit
Why is this now becoming a big story? This should have been a HUGE story for years. Also why isn’t there a plan in place to prevent actions like this from occurring? Too many questions and too little answers here!
If you’re the commissioner you will probably do the same: paying as little as you can to the refs and be done with it. It’s like you won’t expect a random police have extremely high ethics and intelligence. Who really cares about fair game anyways. It’s a show business.
Xcalibur Da Turntablist because the NBA is a big sport and enterprise and this would likely implicate more than just then just low level employees and the NBA itself. I'm sure there are more major players involved in this. He said he and other refs took orders directly from Stern on the outcome of games. He was clearly scapegoated and put at arm's length to make the league look like they weren't involved at all. They swept this under the rug. Why do you think they are trying to integrate betting into the NBA. They are the first sport with to partner with a sports book operator in MGM lol.

There's nothing to prevent it because It's not illegal to fix games... Professional Sports falls under Sports Entertainment... Look on the game ticket...
Also, if you factor in pace of game and blowouts, momentum in football seems easier to control via officiating. Not to mention blowouts in NFL games are not an extremely frequent occurrence from game to game. Unlike in the NBA where blowouts happen A LOT, making them harder to control. To me, it would be inherently easier to fix an NFL game.
Absolutely. And the sad thing is these guys can't really speak out because all the jobs that they can get when they retire are associated with the NBA. You think the NBA would allow TNT to hire Webber had he spoken out about this? No way.
Definitely could be. Literally said if he had a choice he would want to see the Lakers vs the Lakers for the championship. Cost my Kings a damn championship in 2002..
- Did you ever fix you own matches? Ref: "Without a doubt I haven't" - Then why would you bet on your own matches? ref: "Uh.. I just happened to really want to bet on these specific games despite knowing how illegal it is." Seems legit. I like how ESPN doesn't even ask that 2nd question here or state how much money he made, that's all that's needed.
Game 6 of nba finals 2016 cavs v warriors is a perfect example. Those refs set Curry up to foul out knowing full well it would help the cavs win and force a game 7. There were also other missed fouls on the warriors parts but the refs called extra fouls for the cavs. NBA is pathetic at this point

One would have to an idiot to think sports aren't fixed. Remember it's all about ticket sales and viewers. The more you get, the money you rake in. 1 + 1 = 2
Bro I get what you mean. Every time I watch a Timberwolves home game it looks like the refs want them to win but when we are away we don't get the calls but the other teams does. They definitely have teams that they want them to win and got teams they hate so they call bullshit fouls
D Reyes Exactly! game 7 of the World Series 2019 .. Cole the best pitcher in Baseball not coming in 2 help Astros win it at home & sitting it out ? yeah right Aj Hinch you Las Vegas fixer & Clown 💰💰$$
Come watch football (soccer for yanks) it's very difficult to fix a match without paying off players (all of them and the subs and probably the coaching staff too) any referee trying to fix a match would be glaringly obvious.
NRL rugby league Australia refs blow BS penalties to change momentum of particular teams offense to help the losing team. Most teams are sponsored by online gambling companies.
I feel like the NBA’s officiating culture set Tim Donaghy up for success to bet on the games he officiated. When you have officials who have personal vendettas against players or coaches and officiated games with a bias it’s wrong regardless to whether betting is involved or not.
So we’re gonna sit here and believe David Stern ain’t have nothing to do with fixing games as well. Love how a referee has so much control over the NBA.
So he admits it, then he’s convicted, spends some time in prison, and comes out later saying he didn’t fix games? Then the nba basically says that’s true? What am I missing lol Money turns the important heads the other way I guess 🤦♂️
I never witnessed a rigged game untill last years game 1 of the nba finals, that charging call on durant that magically gets turned into a blocking foul on james ,most blatant shit ever.

Evil Eye Gaming stfu Lebron set a charge and the refs ruled it as a charge but they reviewed it (you can’t review it if you already ruled it as a charge) but they did and overturned it. You’re obviously a no life hater
lets fix the title - not only referees... coaches, players, managers, league owners...they are all a part of fixing racket... that is how bookmakers win... they don't just win because they have certain edge for continuation bets... its because of fixing.... its not just NBA.... Basketball, Tennis, cricket, football, table tennis, handball... I can show the matches with evidence.... All big names in all sports have been involved in fixing... be it Lebron, CR7, beckham, messi, Kohli, Djoker, curry, kohli, ABD.... EVERY MATCH HAS A UNIQUE DESIGN.. IF PEOPLE WERE TO PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS.... slow play the match, lose a particular set, handicaps and all..... everything is fixed....So beware...
The NBA "concluded" that there was no fixing because theyre looking out for their brand. If they admitted there was fixing going on then the results of every single NBA game could legitimately be called into question. Theres never only one rat, I guarantee this is stil happening.
I always look at FT attempts in the Box Score at the end of the game. What happened to Houston last night vs LAL. Same thing happened to Grizzlies-Spurs a few weeks back that I know of. Im sure this happens more than people are aware. Foul discrepancy has to be addressed
are u kidding me, any coach i played for said go in, penetrate, get fouls, some teams do it good, some teams do it better, looking at a piece of paper and saying that match was rigged is beyond human decency.
Yo ESPN! This goes beyond just Tim Donaghy! The NBA is the most manipulated major league in all of American sports. This was especially evident during the David Stern era when the Lakers were dominating the league. So many calls went in their favor, namely in the 2001/2002 Western Conference Finals against the Sacramento Kings and also years later in game 7 of the 2009/2010 NBA Finals. It really is frustrating to watch such a dishonest game at times.
LeGM gonna have to get this ref back on it so he can fix games against the Warriors in the final cuz ain't no way Warriors getting beat without that kinda help

LeBron Legacy was rigged with a WEAK EAST conference ! So a Legit team would need 5 all stars , cause in BOXING if referees are rigged , you have to go for the Knockout , The warriors are literally not allowing anyone to cheat against them , that's why Ayesha Curry tweeted its rigged after warriors lost ! LeBron was rigged ! warriors making sure he can't win without talent , You missing the big point The KING has been killed by the Warriors !
The idea that a single referee could rig the game, in front of thousands of audience, 30 over players on court and more than 30 over of his colleagues in a game, is so ridiculously unbelievable. It is very obvious the Media is helping the NBA to sweep this away.
Of course the media would help sweep it under the rug because they want to keep their job. Donaghy already admitted that it basically comes from the top on how to officiate the game that night
It’s still happening...March Madness is the MECCA of game fixing for refs...Some crooked NBA refs probably wished they were coaching the college level when March comes around.
They need to look into the absurd imbalance in officiating against the Raptors. The league does not want a Canadian team to succeed and go deep into the playoffs because it would hurt their American television and ad revenue.
Marching orders are giving from the top of the NBA...They tell the refs who to favour and who to penalize. Special treatment is given to the "big market" teams so that if is close or too close to call they favour the certain team. It's the reason why you will never see teams like Milwaukee, Toronto, Sacramento, Memphis, Charlotte, etc will never win a chip becuase it would be bad for the NBA ratings...The only way teams like that could win is by hitting all their shots and not doing much driving the lane where any contact will be called against them. Anyone who is old enough to remember when the Sacramento Kings were blatantly screwed over in the playoffs. We will never forget
Bud I'm a Raptors fan, I watch it every year, it's disgusting, and even worse, players that know the truth getting paid to talk on TV feed into the BS narrative. Jalen knows, Pierce knows..... it's sad man. Hell the bucks are my teams biggest competition this year, but i cheer for them because they are just like Toronto..... Philly and Boston are the chosen teams in the East...
Instead of an analysis on the statistics of the games he officiated, I was really hoping we'd be getting an in-depth analysis on the actual calls to see if they could be rendered valid or unjust. I feel like that would've made a better explanation for the video.
When the narrator said that 77% of his calls were in favour of his betting team, how many of that % were deemed questionable? That would provide a better analysis.
