I don't have too many good servants yet but I feel lucky to have both a black grail and kaleidoscope I haven't used black grail yet because I'm using Mash,Zenobia,and Castoria And Mash, Archetype earth, Castoria and It feels kinda hard to loop without kaleidoscope right now but I can't wait to start using it

Black Grail was the featured rate up CE on the original Saber Alter rate up. The 5 MLB copies I have today are are both marks of pride and shame.

I wasn't around for that, so I looked and early dl campaigns had actual 5* craft essence rateups that didn't suck imagine that. I wish they gave bg and such rateups as I still need copies on JP and the pool has only been diluted more. So annoying that now with stuff like 29m download campaign they were like here, have this pointless 5* CE on rateup that is useless outside the event.

I have been playing the game for nearly 6 years (since first Nerofest with Brynhildr) and only this year I finally got MLB Black Grail and Kscope. It's genuinely a game changer to have Black Grail AT ALL and MLB is very good but sometimes can make due with a regular one.

Yeah no kidding. On JP I would be more hype for a black grail banner than ANY servant in the game, they could put black grail on a banner with some crappy 5* servant and I would summon on the banner. Like we already have them bringing back honey lake on split rateup and some people will roll for that CE. If gudaguda poster girl came back it would be the same boat, I'd be summoning on said banner because we still don't have a gen pool taunt CE 9 years in.

the short explanation would be: do you only farm class advantage or also neutral? If you do class advantage then more often than not black grail isnt needed. If you do neutral farming then it is absolutely needed. Thats the short of it, if you have afarmer for every class than you really dont need it, if you want to farm neutral with one servant than black grail really makes ALL the difference. Im not counting 90++ in this, since those are completely different circumstances than normal.

Thanks Khad very informative as always! I think these are amazing types of videos cause they're super educational for new players and either, still have some new stuff to learn or, a refreshing reminder for veteran players. Before I talk about this video, here's what I wanted to comment on the 90+ vs 90++ video but couldn't at the time. Thanks a lot, that video gave me a new perspective on 90++, when it released on JP and with how it went over time, I thought it was just gonna be a Whale's playground that I had no place in, except maybe from time to time when my roster is suited to 3 turn it. But the topic of taking advantage of it by taking the drop efficiency over the time efficiency into account opened my eyes on how I should tackle them. So I went from someone who thought about just getting the first clear on most of them then get back to farm 90+ to someone who most likely will farm 90++ using nat AP for those lucrative gains. On the topic of this video, what I personally took from it as someone who rolled Koyan light over Oberon cause I liked her more and wanted a top tier buster support for my account, was that when using a dmg bonus CE with a DPS that didn't have a ramp up NP dmg up effect, the main edge Oberon will have over my 50% chargers is that extra 20% charge. Which makes me feel quite better with not having him. Still all those info on when is what better still really useful, doubt I'll always remember them but they're still good to know.

Got extremely lucky and was able to get my final two copies of BG rolling for Skadi- the damage differential b/w level 1 BG and lvl 100 MLB BG is staggering.

The only thing I don't like about BG is the 80% effect; just because I like nice, rounded numbers like 100. The random 80 just irks me to no end. Oh, and also the recent 6th copy that I got--which will tick me off to no end. I'm honestly tempted to burn or fodder it.

My 6th BG on NA was bittersweet. Summoning for Skadi summer I got a 7th and lamented that it wasn't kscope #5 since I just want a superscope to be done with it. I figure I may as well save my BG copies though in case I use double MLB in some challenge quest or if I ever just stop caring about bond and go with a funny farming comp like Arcueid, a 50% charger, and a 50% charger friend unit with mana append too.

Thanks for writing sex on screen, it made my morning. I wish they made banners for these exceptional CEs like Black Grail and Honey Lake. A quick question for anyone who cares, since BG gets a higher level cap and thus more damage, keeping your copies together even if you haven't reached MLB is a good choice unlike with Kscope, right?

I would love more CE Videos. As an almost day 1 player i find myself at a loss what CE are actually the best to bring to lvl 100. I only see very old tierlists or only with free CEs. But since I spend the moneys and got all the meta servants besides male merlin i wonder what CEs are good to use. So i mostly just stick with the good old ones from the start the 10% NP one, the black grail and the 10 crit-star one together with kaleido.

I would love to use my MLB BG for buster looping with Morgan and upcoming Tiamat, but problem is I don’t have oberon, so I’ll always be missing some NP on turn 3.

I wish I could get more copies of BG. In the arctic summer with a combined 1300 quartz rolled, it seems like I got everything but BG from the permanent ce pool. 3x kscope 2x imaginary around 1x formal craft 3x2030 I only got 2 event ssr ce copies from the gacha lol.

Most people shouldn't even bother with Black Grail unless they have NP3+ Main Damage dealer. and you need to MLB it cause or else other MLB CE comes very close with no demerit. So if you start with NP1 do not even bother with Black Grail. it is so popular cause most people have a NP5 main damage dealer. and that 60-80% NP strength is huge cause it saves 2-3 buffs.

No. Generally you wouldn't need 2 bg for farming. Combine it so your atk stats increases

I was planning on getting a second Black Grail but misclicked and ended up getting a fifth Prisma Cosmos (now MLB'd). Not the end of the world but definitely not optimal lol. Hopefully I roll some BGs in the future and no PCs I guess.

It would also be interesting to have a comparision between Lv100 Perma CE (BG and Ocean Flier) vs Lv15 Event PMod CE. I would rather level a perma CE than an event CE. (Apart from the fact that you could use the event CE as CE bomb afterwards)

In FGO, certain types of buffs are the same type. Attack up by 30% and reduce enemy defense by 30% do essentially the same thing, if you have an atk boost of 40% and an enemy's def is redyced by 20%, you effectively have 60% atk up, or the enemy has 60% def down. Power mod, which is the damage boost you get from events, is the same buff type as NP buffs. At MLB, they provide 200% power mod. He was trying to say that when there's an event with power mod, even MLB Black Grail is inferior to BG cos MLB BG (80%) doubled by Oberon is 160% which still falls short of the 200% pmod I mentioned earlier. As a reminder, power mod and np mod are of the same type, so using the bigger one is the better thing to do. Buffs of different types are multiplicative with each other. So what you want to do is stack buffs of different types. Atk buffs, np buffs and card colour buffs would all br multiplicative

I'm sorry but, how can HokuSaber BG loop? I'm using her now in the event with MLB dmg CE, 2 castorias and oberon. She is NP refunding 50% So with BG I'll have to use all double Castoria skills. Turn 2 I can use Oberon's 20% and Hoku's 20% and I'm missing a 10%... If I'd have her with append (which we don't), I could skip one Castoria 2nd skill but then she wouldn't even np refund 50%... Please explain :)

In a challenge scenario with carding she loops or if you really want to go there use Crane on her to give her more battery with breakbars letting Crane NP 2nd. She can have append 2 if you bond her up to 11 or 12 IIRC, can't remember the coin math. Otherwise wait for evocation festival.

i dont have oberon but paracelsus (3* caster) solves that problem for me if you maxed his skill 2 and 3. turn 1 you use paracelsus skill 2 and use skill 3 on summer hoku. swap for 2nd castoria. use one castoria's skill1 and 2 to get 100% charge on hoku along with the necessary arts buffs. come turn 2 hoku will be sitting at around 71% np, use the other castoria's skill 1 for another np loop. by the 3rd turn use hoku's own np charge skill and castoria's skill2 for the last loop

Really hope you gave up cos you should just do the 90++ with the pmod CE. 200% pmod is better than BG And she won't refund enough with BG. She needs around 30~40 charge per turn and using both Castorias skill in w1 is already a red flag

superscope seems more useful than BG, i mean she may end up as secondary dmg dealer without bothering to charge her.

It is highly dependant on the Servant (quest and the player taking the support) in question. Imo: some are better off without either even, if there are more applicable ones. But as a general rule - raw NP damage that SuperScope has to contend with is only good up to a a certain point, after which it might just be a statstick CE with no effects. There are certainly cases where SuperScope would still be generally fine (like really strong refunders, ideally with charge skills NOT paired with damage buffs, or special cases like Nitocris or Douman. Though, with Douman it depends as well) and times, when BG isn't that appealing (besided the obvious non-damaging ones, in cases where Servants struggle to get back to their NP, for example Maid Alter, would not utilize it as well). I would say, consider playing to the strong sides of the servants and their kits. As an example, Melusine is the easiest to recomend putting BG on, since even as just an ST unit she would utilize it exremely well due to how the more she NPs, the more she NPs and crits.

If they have a big battery sure. Or if you think people will use them in a Castoria setup Castoria giving 30 battery teamwide can get them to 100 if you have append 2 maxed. Superscope is also really good for someone who isn't borrowing a teatime support generally speaking because they can NP 1-2 times depending on the servant.

Is the Black Grail on the Spreadsheet MLB or just one copy?, because MLB is insanely unreasonable for players that haven't played since day 1 or just whale the f up the game. I started 2 years ago in NA, I only got one Black Grail from gacha, and one from the ani free CE.

@@jefffgo7154 I mean if you are in the 0.1% of lucky people who just gets a black grail every now and then I guess it wouldn't take long for an MLB. But content creators always assume MLB for these spreadsheets which is super tiring and makes the comparison with the F2P CEs kinda pointless, it's a big difference in attack and that 20% of extra NP damage is noticeable with Oberon comps.

Oberon's third skill doubles the effect of NP damage up buffs, which is why 30 becomes 60 on t3.

I have an MLB Black Grail and never use it, Saber Np - Morgan Np - Morgan Np - mission clear. It's rare that doesn't work.

Depends on what you're farming. If you're going for some loop setup with one DPS black grail can work on some non buster units to meet damage thresholds. I use MLB BG if I can't meet damage thresholds on a node otherwise, but generally I'll go for a 50% CE or kscope on buster units or detective foumes on arts units. I generally don't quick loop, but that's because I don't have any great quick loopers compared to my arts and buster loopers. In challenge quests though MLB BG is my go to unless there's some fight gimmicks that require a utility CE like see emptiness as the path for ignore invuln.
