How Nero Introduces Kyrie to Vergil - Devil May Cry 5 Parody 

lol didn’t think of it that way, but then Vergil’s point is even more valid then! Kyrie just so happened to be dating the grandson of God? Her devotion was rewarded then?! It’s getting weirder than the way we wrote it so whichever way you find funnier I’d go with that. If you watch our first DMC skit, we also mention they worship pineapple as a god so our parody universe might put Kyrie in the clear. Let me think about this for the rest of the week…

@@pirateplace Eh, to be fair, it's unclear if Nero and Kyrie have put 2 and 2 together yet, so... It's even more hilarious for Vergil specifically because he chased Sparda's power and went to Fortuna for research and ended up banging some red woman for a one-night stand before leaving to unleash the Temen-Ni-Gru in 3. It would have been funnier if he said 'She's way too into God. Trust me, I've been there.'

I’m surprised the place is in one piece. Luckily Vergil is a clean freak and really maintains the place in spite of these daily duels. Welcome to the family, Kyrie! Good luck! Vergil and family will return!

Yes, that is true. We wrote the dialogue to try and introduce these characters to a wider audience and meeting a girl at church has its own implications lol. The Sparda’s love complicated family relationships don’t they?

It would be cool to do a longer fan film that could be a one shot story. These smaller skits are just more doable at the moment. I’m hoping Nero’s mom was a nice woman or else I’d feel really bad… for both Nero and Vergil’s sake. Vergil took the unused child support money and bought himself something nice lol. Or he has some presidential budget we don’t know about.

You know I was just watching interviews about the making of Austin Powers where Mike Myers plays half the characters as well. I need to watch some Eddie Murphy movies again too. Yeah, in the kitchen you can see Bedlam’s shoulders bulging out of the jacket hahaha. I hope leaving the squeaking in grounds these costumes in reality. (The audio in this video got messed up a lot due to mic placement so I had to turn the background noise reducer down…) Now I really want to get a new jacket for Nero! His red sweater is ridiculously hot. I might be sweating more than Vergil was lol. Thank you for noticing the new Vergil costume!

I have the other part vocal only part too, just didn’t get a chance to use it. Everything about Vergil is DRAMATIC.

Yes to your suggestions! We played up the Kyrie devotion for comedic effect, but she will likely be more level headed now that she’s gotten Vergil’s approval. Nero will become more hot headed in the following episodes. He’s in the middle of some character growth which we will see in the next 2 episodes. I will let Vergil and Dante know you approve of them! They are making the Sparda bloodline proud! See you in the next one!

I think they need to make a moment for Nero to fight alongside Vergil in order for them to develop more of a bond. I think we are still getting used to the new camera and it’s quite challenging filming in close quarters. (I only have one lens at the moment. XP) lol I actually got this rug from RugsUSA hahaha. I love this particular shag rug, but now it smells like buttered popcorn! 🍿 Surprisingly, Vergil stayed cool on this shoot, but Nero’s red sweater is pure sweat town! It even has holes in it but it still generates ridiculous heat! I’ll ask Bedlam which Vergil outfit is hotter.

@@pirateplace Yeah, I'd imagine anything bigger than a GoPro would be quite difficult to maneuver, and though I don't know anything about lenses, that sounds tough. So, the rug smells as good as it looks! Can't say I'm surprised about Nero's sweater. The jacket doesn't look too heavy, but that sweater looks nearly an inch thick!

Bedlam watches the show, so I’m going to have to watch more to keep up. It’s the part where Vergil says to cut Kyrie loose in that uncharacteristic voice. I’m happy that there’s a happy couple in the DMC universe.

It works so well both with and without context from DMC since I interpreted this as Vergil having memories from the red woman(Nero's mother) he met in Fortuna when he was still researching Sparda. Kinda like a 'Good heavens! Not again with this cult!'

@@pirateplace To be fair, if we have to get Bayonetta into account, Sparda's wife, Eva, was an Umbra Witch who was in contract with him, so... Make what you will of that. Nobody in the family knows about that, of course. It would certainly be weird for Vergil to see Nero date someone from the cult that worshipped his father, but then again, they just met in canon, so... But to be fair, Vergil was the one that left in pursuit of power, so it's fair to say Nero's gonna be better than his father.

For example, some actions from the one sketch will affect on the next one (example: Dante said he wants to train cooking the food and in the next episodes we see him actually trying) and if to think, it can turn into something very interesting with more ideas! @@idkboypvp Sometimes we have crossovers between game franchises like DMC and MGS. The next two DMC episodes will be a pair with a connecting story. The only issue we have seen with adding too much lore specific content and overarching plots is that our non DMC friends don’t know what’s going on. So recently we have to keep in mind to keep at least have of the jokes generic for a wide audience. (Ex. Not everyone knows Kyrie and Nero take care of orphans post DMC4) Our hotline videos lead directly to introducing Kyrie, but not sure everyone got that. We aim to improve our writing, so yes we will include some new over arching plot points. (One being that we will try to make Nero more multidimensional. I will add some attitude to him finally!)

I was thinking even if the church was disbanded, Kyrie might convert the next best thing. Or she might still regard Sparda as her god then she might be really jazzed about marrying into this family. Nero is played as “good boy” Nero since he really does have a heart of gold compared to the rest of the team. He may also have to be in this happy go lucky mode due to having to be a good example for the orphans. But you never know what’s bubbling under the surface… to be seen in the next episode! Stay tuned! (I also found it easier to act happy go lucky than angsty young man, but I will give the angsty route a go next time!) Also, thank you for the notes. I want to put as many lore accurate jokes as possible, but when we did that, it isn’t always understood by the wider audience. But that is the balance we are trying to find in our parodies. @@pirateplace nero does indeed have a heart of gold, but he doesn't have a very cheery personality and he definitely isn't naive. wait, wait they're in-front of orphans? i think i'm missing some context. about lore accuracy: i don't think that being true to Nero's character as an angsty young man, or have him not like church would be something not understood by a wider audience, though i get the point about the church being disbanded. in general, i think that these kinds of skits are actually a good place to introduce the lore to a wider audience. there's this series "if the emperor had a tts device" that's set in the who40k universe, and i love it to bits to despite having almost no prior knowledge of the universe, and so do many others. and speaking of "corrections": i don't think kyrie would say something like "disgusting homeless man". why?: well, as we see in one of the dmc5 scenes, nero is very welcoming to strangers, even when they look "rough"; and so, i think kyrie would probably be similar to him.
