the problem really isnt the batches, its the fact that they were released A YEAR APART. if, instead of one a week, we got a drop every month within 4 episodes, whatever. that's fine. but a year? absolutely not man, thats total bullshit. 100 fucking percent
@@zenheretic yeah no, having it a year a part is just like making split cout of regular anime, its not a big deal n there's plenty of anime that do this, the problem with it being in batches is the hype died within a week, how would the next cour have any hype if the initial release doesnt even got much of it
People over here acting surprised that Netflix is garbage. For as far as i know its always been a garbage company that doesnt listen to its subscribers
Netflix is dying and they probably though releasing one of the most hype anime in recent generation in long distant batches was the best way to force people to come to Netflix for their fix. And with the dying hype they probably won’t invest enough money back into jojos to get a part 7. David pro will probably have to move to another company or fund its release themselves if they desperately want part 7 anime
While I do think the second batch was an improvement over the first and absolutely awesome, it still doesn’t excuse the schedule that Netflix gave it, I mean 🤦♂️
They should have waited till David's production was done or almost done with what they had and waited for David to make something they thought was fit and when those criterias are met, then they can release it how they want (preferably weekly). I remember hearing Netflix is over working David for this part.
Definitely seems like a personal thing because I binged watched Part 1-4 and watched part 5 weekly and still remember EVERYTHING that happened before 6
Stone ocean getting done dirty like this breaks my heart. It was the first part of jojo I've ever read and one of my favorite things I've read. Is it the best? No, but I loved it and defended it. When I saw it was getting animated I was so happy. Finally, I thought, finally people will see how good Stone Ocean is, just like with Golden Wind! This just hurts man.
"How do we release Stone Ocean? All in one go or weekly releases?" "How about in batches over several months in between? That way we get all the drawbacks of binge-watching, while also making sure we get those from splitting seasons with more than enough time in between to make the viewers forget what happened" "Brilliant!"
personally as a guy who absolutely adores part 6, and its tied with my favorite part, therefore being my favorite part, the animation is amazing, the voice acting, the anime changes make more sense with the story and overall it makes it so enjoyable no matter how many times i watch it, the soundtrack half of the time sounds like something from a video game and I think personally one of the pieces sounds something that'd you would hear in a cutscene of Resident Evil (ikr) but the batch really killed it, regardless of the quality gap between both batches, the second one obviously being better quality- the fans are just not getting into it and it really REALLY sucks i wish it didn't end up this way, i love stone ocean
They fucked up the charm of the openings, i bet theyre gonna make a version 3 of stone ocean op. That will be a disaster and will litterally destroy the charm/consistency of the openings.
@@cengix8850 From what I've read from other comments, SBR might probably take a long time anyways unfortunately, due to how hard it is to animate horses or something like that (I wouldn't be surprised if there was some other issues too). Which is a shame, since SBR is one of the most popular Jojo Parts (and Part 8 is my personal favorite). -_-
I had no issue when they announced the batch release schedule, I thought it would be like most batches where it release a batch every 2-3 months like they did for cuphead. However it has been no 9 months since batch one and we only just got batch two and we still dont know when batch 3 is coming it's so bad that even the recently released asbr has been confirmed to have cut content as weather report, cmoon and the Kennedy space center were all cut. Netflix stupidity is now affecting other companies Netflix teally really fucked up
That’s a rumor there’s no way they would remove c moon that’s a important part of the story and literally Kennedy space center is the Made in heaven arc that’s a simple rumor it’s not true
@@dankus4497 They didn’t remove it, they just didn’t add it, because of anime spoilers. New Moon Pucci, Weather Report and Cape Canaveral will come in a free update I think
@@condor-yz6bo , I hope not. I'm also hoping they don't cut. sky high and underworld fight. God those two. love fight. but I heard they not going have Disney characters in jojo? is that true?
I'll never forget when I was in my senior year of high school when the torture dance scene aired. Everyone I knew was going crazy over it and the internet blew up. I can guarantee that batch #3 will be really big but if part 7 releases the same way, all moments will lose impact and the part that everyone would be most hyped for would die out immediately after batch #1.
Each part became more famous and relevant every time they got adapted. Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency were already memed to hell and back, then Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable invaded the internet entirely. Part 5 was just the peak of JoJo's presence online. You compare that to Part 6, and man. Memes tell a lot about the relevancy of a work. Moments like F.F. drinking from the ground or inflating her own breasts, White Snake holding up a gun against a fucking pidgeon, or Jotaro casually side-stepping Jolyne in moments of great danger, that could all have been moments that would have been memed into oblivion back into Golden Wind's era. Now it's barely mentionned, gulped and people move on to the next batch of the new show. It's sad. These services don't let people take the time to process what they consume anymore.
Before watching this video I actually had the exact same thought. I was just binging the show and didn't feel or notice any hype online and it made me wonder why. I realized that since it was the first Jojo's that was a Netflix exclusive gave me an epiphany: not all JoJo fans have a Netflix subscription.
That news article that said Netflix refuses to stop releasing anime in bulks really got me to a point where I’m not even mad anymore, I’m just disappointed. Despite everything Netflix has done, I still want to help them change even if it means beating them to a pulp. I honestly hope they change jojo to a weekly schedule for the final batch (even if the chances are slim) but until then I’m just fighting and hoping that they change.
I literally didn't know the second batch of part 6 was out untill I saw a scene with a stand I didn't recognize and then realized "oh shit, jjba part 6 gas a new batch" and I watched it all in one day
A big question I always happens is, what will happen when the Jojo Anime catches up to the manga? Will we just have wait a decade for Part 9 to end and then wait a few year more hoping that David Production will still be interested in animating Jojo?
i mean...if jojo part 9 will begin in the near future so even before the third batch of stone ocean maybe no bc we sure need to wait atleast 6 or even 9 months for the third batch...then we need to wait the simulcast in japan so anothers 3 months...part 7 will prob take at the very least 2 years to make bc of the crazy amount of horses and crazy shit...then the whole 36 eps to release in simulcast so atleast 9 months if netflix wont do this batch shit...another 2 years for jojolion production or even more bc in that part araki style is really detailed so if they want to make a good adaptation they need 2 yrs at the very least...36 eps or even more bc jojolion has 110 chapters with 45 pages each...a whole year to release all the eps....so jojolands or part 9 should be in a 6/7 years publication and if araki will make the last part even longer than part 9 will be adapted 2 or 3 years after its end so i dont think we will wait a whole decade to part 9 anime
Part 9 will be finished by the time they begin animating Part 8 And even if it isn't, DP has animated the Rohan OVAs in-between parts and has taken on other projects like Cells at Work.
This is one of the best seasons yet… No one is talking about it, most people don’t even know how much of it is even out, and that is TERRIFYING considering from Episode 1 of Part 1 hundreds of thousands of people were saying “I CANNOT WAIT FOR STONE OCEAN” JoJo Fridays was the lifeblood of the series and Netflix ripped it’s heart out. It’s on an IV when it deserves to be on a golden mantle.
A friend said it best: “Series live and die by cliffhangers and anticipation so making the next episode available immediately is suicide. That’s why manga are released in chapters before volumes, and shows weekly before blurays.”
Thank you man. Binging kills the hype in a big way when it comes to watching something suspenseful. Especially JoJo. I like part 6 a lot but I don’t get that same feeling of suspense I did during part 5’s run.
I was talking with my son about this. Back in college, all the student workers would get together for weekly airings of Naruto and Bleach, sometimes other anime as well. It was hype, we talked about the show, we speculated, and we were damn well all back again the next week
Early Naruto was the best, but afterwards they had actual years' worth of fillers. It's nice nowadays seeing younger co-workers into Boruto, but man did I get burnt out. The manga are all pretty great though, same with One Piece. The producers who have acquired the rights to the anime adaptations really pad out the anime too much though some episodes here and there are amazing works of art.
same. even know I read it once in high. I read 5-7. once and I cried. part 6 made me cry. because Jolene and ermes and others died. plus which part of arcs of part 6 is your favorite?
Stone Ocean is a step away from being a masterpiece. I just think he needed better writing in some parts but all the good elements were there. Still my favorite part tho.
@@darkmatter9643 , finally!, sorry got exticed. God I love sky high arc. also heavy weather. because I wonder in eyes of heaven. why? is rainbow that you go through!?, turn into snails. after trading heavy weather stand and arc., I was like I'm scared look at rainbow now. especially weather death hurt me. God thinking about part 6? just makes me sad. just thinking about it.
This is a controversial opinion but I think that fans kill the hype more than David Productions or any studio could. The more people go on Twitter and RU-vid and TikTok and complain about how it was ruined, the more they ruin it for yourselves. I do not agree with the batch release at all, I don't understand myself why they can't still do the batches but release them weekly, but complaining about it every opportunity you get and pretending it's getting no press (because it is, albeit very little,) just makes the situation worse. It's a sticky situation as it is, but bickering, complaining, whining, and begging Netflix to adhere to your needs makes YOU feel worse, and the affect is multiplied as everyone else starts repeating the same jargon. This is not a jab at you in particular, by the way, when I say "you" I mean the casual JoJo fan, I don't know you and I'm not assuming you're one of these over-obsessed crazy fans. However, too many of these people go to social media to spread fear, hate, and misinformation because they don't understand the situation. People wonder why Netflix doesn't "do what we ask," when they simply don't care about what the average Twitter schmuck has to say. At the end of the day you have to make the best of your own situation. If you can't find something better to do for 9 months between cours that's on you. People's blaming Netflix has become a robotic reaction every time they seen something they don't like. The CGI animation, the cutting of some scenes, localizations of some names, whatever it is, the fear mongering and spreading of hate is leading to people making wild accusations that just make no goddamn sense. Anyway no hate to you. TLDR the average Joe spreading hate and misinformation does worse for the fandom than anything else. Have a great day lol!
I'm so fucking angry tbh. I finished the first batch in like 2 days cause the initial hype was there but now I still haven't finished the second batch bc I honestly don't give a shit anymore, esp seeing that they were too lazy to give us a new OP and ED. clearly whoever's running things doesn't care so why should I? jojo is in my top 3 favourite anime of all time and I'm so mad cause part 6 deserves the best it deserves all the hype I don't care what the haters say. I only got into jojo last year before part 6 anime came out so this is my first time experiencing the anime release in real time so imagine my disappointment. I truly wish hell on Netflix for doing this
The batch thing would never be a great thing, but it would have at least been tolerable if the waits were like 2-3 months instead of almost 9 for a second batch. Smh. The weekly JoJos hype was the truth. It was because I saw part 5s ending song being freaking you that I started to sit down and watch the series from the start. Love it (Part 4 being my personal fav, but I've read up to part 7)
Couple years back, everyone was talking about stone ocean anime when and then once it comes out literally no one is talking about it. Honestly impressive how Netflix managed to destroyed all hype for a series that’s as hyped as JoJo’s is
Yes but also part 6 was a little bit downhill for JoJo too, at least the start of it, haven't watched the 2nd batched yet. All JoJo's started as a banger but stone ocean started weak. Hopefully as a lot of people say part7 will hype me up again.
I’m gonna be honest I didn’t even realize that the second batches of episodes dropped, gonna watch them when I get a chance, but it’s honestly sad how Netflix has handled this series
People are putting to much heat on Netflix before stopping to consider maybe the batch release schedule isn't all them. The team at DP who regularly animated Jojo is doing another anime and Jojo was given to the B team, then everything that happened at Warner Brothers ontop of covid. There's so much going on behind the scene but again, just like the evangelion and seven deadly sins fiasco netflix gets heat when they really don't have much say. It's nuts that jojo fans treat jojo Fridays so scared but don't keep it alive because all the episodes were released at once and then blame Netflix cuz they don't have self control
David Production should just use Crunchy Roll as their studio again. I'd rather wait every Fridays than wait any months to wait for next batch. I already forgot part 6 exists in the next month.
I’m not gonna watch anymore until it’s all released… I hate episode batches with a passion and I’ve read it already so I dont mind. The hype has been completely dissolved for me. I just miss Jojo Fridays 😢
With weekly, you get memes, discussion videos, theories, matchups about EVERY SINGLE EPISODE, because there is time for that. With batch, once I finish the batch I already forgot the first episodes...
A jojotard like me didn't even know stone ocean final got released...I just came to know today while watching yamaji vs yhawch for the 500th time and it just got recommended to me
It really sucks that this had to happen with PT6. It was already (wrongly) considered as a runt of the litter of the stand parts of jojo's. And now its anime is also (wrongly)falling into that same mold.
Everyone seems to hope that netflix will change its ways. I don't. I don't believe in netflix at all. I just hope they'll lose whatever rights they have to Jojo and won't be able to even look at it by the time Part 7 will start production. Netflix never deserved Jojo, and should've never gotten exclusive rights to it.
I remember when the torture dance scene was coming close, the episode before ended on a cliffhanger and the whole community was like "NOOOOOO WE HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK" shit was so fun, shame that part 6 the most infamous part in the fandom isnt given that hype it deserves.
I would've agreed with your video as a whole but then you had to go and cap major. Part 6 wasn't the best adaptation of jojo ever, it's still part 5 OBJECTIVELY. The quality of animation is the first thing that got hit with part 6 and its pretty noticeable. A LOT of animators from previous parts that made all the best scenes stand out aren't present in the production of part 6. You can look at twitter and the few ones that have great quality are the only thing being discussed not because of how iconic the scene is but because of the animators who are involved with animating that scene specifically. David pro got a lot of flak with the part 6 opening being cgi because people got used to part 5's immaculate 2d animated opening that they forgot david pro used to do it in parts 1-3. There's less memes about it not because its being unheard of or going under peoples radar, there's less memes because the adaptation isn't as good as the one that preceded it. PART 6 is MID adaptation wise in all gods honesty. Script may be solid, voice acting may have had the same quality as the ones before it, but the animation is clearly not on par with 5 so its not the BEST ADAPTATION you proclaim it is.
It’s why I lost interest in it. The totally botched that release schedule. Releasing 12 episodes then waiting like a year to release more? By then I had forgotten most of what had happened, I just the other day finally finished it and I’m glad i did. I really ended up enjoying it a lot but I still don’t remember much from the first 12 episodes.
Me pers9nally I'm just glad I was able to watch part 6 my fav part I read part 7 a little overrated fav joestar jolyne everything and omg the last batch I have never seen jojo animate that beautifully the literally sky itself had better animation then part 1 like my gosh it was so good but the amount of things it missed was extremely annoying the cmoon fight felt a misoppurtunity but that mih fight if people don't say it's the best fight in jojo anime and manga idont trust you yes johhny vs valentine was extremely well written but like the stakes in part 6 onggg you've never seen it before in jojo sooo yes netflix destroyed the hype unlike vinland saga which is getting weekly episodes as of right now
At the end of part 5, you could not click on anything and not have a comment saying "Korega Requiem da" Shame how much Netflix killed the hype This also harms SBR, not just Stone Ocean (which is my 2nd favourite part), which is not gonna get the hype it deserves Imagine they did Stone Ocean well and then SBR comes out It would top any anime I could see a world where every second comment in any video, post or retweet is "Lesson 5," but they just had to kill the anime... Thanks Netflix
I'm gonna be honest all this stuff about part 6 being released in batches, I don't care at all. I'm liking stone ocean a lot so far and these batches don't change anything for me. This is coming from someone who got into Jojo later than most. When I started watching it part Five was already animated so I just watched them all. And fine people prefer the weekly releases but once all the episodes are animated and released will any of that matter? Especially for people who get into Jojo after part 6 is done? I keep hearing about how Netflix is killing Stone Ocean’s hype but I never hear people talking about what they like about Stone Ocean only its bizarre release schedule. Maybe the logic is if enough people talk about they’ll stop releasing episodes in batches and go back to weekly. And fine if that's the case but I wish people would talk more about what they like or don't like about the anime Stone Ocean and not Its dumb scheduled releases.
I don't even care about the waiting time between each batch of episodes. I would have been totally fine if Stone Ocean Part 2 released like a year after part 1, as long as the weekly schedule was kept in place. Hell, we get that treatment for Attack on Titan final season, and everyone still fucking loves it Fuck netflix and fuck binge culture
you complain about hype, well im john candy at the end of planes, trains and automobile smiling at you because at the end of the day you still have a wonderfull adaptation from your favorite manga while my personal ones have awfull adaptations. Be glad for what you have.
Me personally, I don’t mind the batch release. I mean, I get it, you can watch every damn episode of the season in one day….. but cmon, the actual quality of the anime is still amazing. Part 6 stands are turning out to be my favourite. Jailhouse Rock terrifies me more than King Crimson ffs. Again, I see so many people disappointed with the batch release schedule and I get it. But literally the only thing lost is weekly hype. It’s not that bad honestly. I personally feel like all this hatred for the batch release just gives people more excuses to hate part 6.
Just look at Arcane’s act format that built so much hype with each week also other anime on Netflix are fucking weekly I don’t get why they did this batch bs to jojo. I’m loving the adaptation of p6 but that community hype we had in part 5 felt so much better
Stone Ocean is the first part I've watched as it's being released, and it feels like showing up late to a party as everyone is coming down. I'm still having a good time but I can't shake the feeling that I missed out.
Right after the first batch dropped, Netflix had an entire roadmap for the new Stranger Things season batch 1 and 2 and fans didn't have long to wait. 8 months later second batch for Part 6 gets dropped and I have no idea when to expect batch three. Yet Netflix has already confirmed their final season for Stranger Things for early to mid 2023. Utterly disgraceful.
It’s official. Stone Ocean is cursed, and given that everything repeats I expect a disaster for the anime JoJolion up to, but not including, the dissolution of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure coupled with the disgracing of Araki.
Not only is Netflix burying this show, they aren't even actively promoting it. I didn't even know JoJo had a new season until summer 2022. No promos. No hype. Dropping new episodes and not letting the world know is a crime!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't batch releases be worse for the animators in terms of how they spread the workload? Like, say you have a team of 50. With the normal weekly release, your team of 50 can all focus into working into this week's episode. With a batch release, wouldn't your team of 50 be stretched across 13 or so episodes?
I can definitely agree from the title w/o having seen the video yet. i didn't even know that new episodes came out until YESTERDAY Meanwhile when it first started I was counting the seconds till the first episodes dropped
Sadly I can't agree with you on the "each part gets better" argument. Yes technically the studio did bring their A-game pretty consistently,(There were some minor hiccups for part 4 regarding its animation) but for part 6, all of the production value don't matter much if the writing is off. I don't think any studio would've made that prison guard fight scene or that feng-shui fight part all the more bearable to watch just to list a few. Not to mention how quickly the first 12 episodes were forgotten very quickly. I'm watching maybe 1-2 episodes weekly and still I do feel like what Jojo was really special at, it wasn't really delivering with part 6. The excitement, the humor, the creativity and characters didn't really click with me(It has some of its moments, but most of them didn't land well) and felt that I got tired out by it. Maybe I'm alone feeling like this or I'm just a major asshole, but this is really how I feel about it.
I’m gonna be sad when the last batch means everyone is hitting that ending at different times, and spoilers are gonna be even worse than they are now. That said, I’m mixed on batches. Like, we don’t do “appointment tv” or “water cooler tv” anymore. Arguably, there’s no real point where “everyone” is watching a particular thing at once. Fandoms are scattered. If you miss that first week of release, the discussion threads are already dead. I enjoy getting a big kick of excitement as much as anyone, but everything feels so short and nothing lasts.
netflix make jojo part 6 so underwhelming and lackluster in hype due to this batch episodes. It felt less hype than part 1 and its very sad sight to see. I hope that part 7 wont have the same fate as part 6 . If that happens, we'll cancel the fuck out of them.
I never saw the second batch, never even knew it was out. Thats how bad the release was. I literally thought they had to cancel it halfway through because of how inconvenient the batch release was
My problem is the long dry period between batches. I don't forget that easily, but by the time batch 2 rolled around I almost needed to watch batch 1 again to refresh my memory and hype. Now I will just wait for all episodes to be released and watch from the beginning again...
The worst part is that this second batch was incredible. When part 5 was coming out (hell even batch 1 of part 6), I saw friends talking about jojo, people on the internet talking about jojo, memes about new episodes, etc. Only one of my friends has even watched the first batch and didn't even know batch 2 was out, and I have seen 1(one) meme about batch 2. Netflix has killed jojo hype, and I hope Netflix is as far away as possible when it's time for SBR
Stone ocean is by far my favourite part and it’s sad to see that stone ocean is being done dirty, like come on I was so hyped to see the cmoon arc when stone ocean was first announced
Another fact to point out is how even though AoT final season has been getting stretched out over the past couple years, they still had weekly releases for each final season part so the hype could still build up and carry forward. Here we had to wait almost a year before the next batch of episodes of Jojo's but the hype wasn't there since this binge model doesn't let it build up in the first place
Batch releases are for your average viewers who will watch a show all season through then forget about it, not caring about it after they’ve finished, Netflix has ruined how people watch things, I was watching dbs weekly waiting for ultra instinct and I’d watch the live Japanese episode then an hour later watch the sub cut, that was probably one of my favourite weekly watching experiences and really made me care for the show I’ve already finished this batch and I don’t care too much because I know I’m not gonna be waiting complaining online when I could’ve watched one episode a week but I wanted to watch it. I won’t complain online about the wait because I made this choice and a lot of us need to accept the fact that if we watch the episodes and run out before the next batch it’s on us. Yes Netflix done messed up but I’m still loving stone ocean either way
I keep seeing that the hype for this anime is destroyed, but i'm still hype for it. I think I would be more hype if they released it regularly, but this really doesn't ruin the show for me.
I remember when NetflixGeeked made 1(one) tweet promoting Beastars S2 last year - _days_ after it arrived there. Not a lot of people know it even exists, still. I brought out my own complaint to them out of concern for how they handled that then, and their response was "It's not going anywhere tho?" which ratioed me but it was a goddamn valid complaint to bring up & I deleted it. Now I absolutely wish I didn't. For Stone Ocean, I think there's only 0 tweets by them. F*ck this lol
if it wasnt for a reaction channel I watch I would never have known SO second batch came. Also their response seems very dismissive "oh we didnt advertise but it's still going to be there so deal with it"
Yeah, I'm not even interested in watching the second batch, even though its been out for like 2 weeks. I'm glad my friend got me continue with the manga once i finished part five. I hope that the SBR anime can be done well, and that part 6 can become one of the the favourites of people who get into jojos after part 6 finishes airing.
Personally The “batch” part I’m okay with since that gives jojo part 9 time to breathe and come out with a good amount of source material by the time they reach it, it the “release all at once” part I’m against because it piss me out that they kill any hype and consistent interest.
