Thats so annoying and stupid. My guess is that the seller assumes whoever is buying is buying for the toy for kids, rather than collectors. Some people are just thick, I'm afraid. I wouldn't have left him one star, I'd have messaged the seller to let him know about his idiocy and ignorance. But then, I know nothing of Mercari as its not available in Australia.
Shipping an item that way is inexcusable. Common sense would dictate that the original box the item came in is part of the item and shouldn't be altered/damaged in any way. Anyone with 1/2 a brain would consider a 47 year old toy as a collectible. My thinking is always once I sell someone an item and the payment is received then the item immediately belongs to the buyer and not me anymore. I go to great lengths (some would say overkill) to package the item securely so it remains in the exact same condition as described. You have every right to be disappointed/disgusted with the way this item was shipped. If Mercari really doesn't allow you to communicate effectively with the seller then I would definitely give him the 1-Star rating. I always feel your frustration in your videos. How hard is it for any of us to handle a sale properly? Not very hard at all if you think about how you would feel about receiving an item that has been damaged because of sheer stupidity.
Shocking and lazy way to send anything in the mail. Just slapping a label on it like that. Amazon have done this a few times with items I’ve bought - vinyl records just sent shrink wrapped in a plastic bag with a label slapped on it. The result =totally destroyed record sleeve, and a perfectly new item trashed because of stupid and lazy mailing practices.
Yes I would leave them one star if they're going to be selling things they should know how to send them if you don't let them know they will never learn
As a Comic Book Collector, As soon as I seen The Label and tape on The Box I cringed. That person is an idiot who mailed that to you. I feel like now if I Buy any sort of Collectible I have to message the Buyer and instruct them how to package it.
