How not to win in High School 

All I know is that every school needs a military vet like this man with his own fucking office helping kids find discipline and accountability. This would be the most important job in society.

I stumbled across Jake's videos during the quarantine. Can't stop watching now. He tells you the way it is.

All kids need this kinda tough knowledge in high school. My father is a VERY flawed man, but he never once lied to me. His rule was once you hit middle school, it’s not so much if you’re happy (that’s important too) but more prepared to face the real world. And I respect tf outta him for that. I’m flawed too but not scared to be a father one day cuz of him

Reminds me a lot of my uncle who’s an ex-Marine. I used to not like his direct, almost “tough love” way of speaking when I’d see him because I wasn’t used to it at all but now that I’m 24 and am old enough to see where he was coming from about a lot of things, I wish I would’ve had more of that in my life since I didn’t really have a father figure to do that. I’m sure that someday, these kids will look back and really appreciate what Jake is doing for them here. :)

I needed this video. The question "What are you willing to sacrifice?" hit me hard. I've known for a while what I need to sacrifice, but to sacrifice it in order to be better at life, means that I will lose friends and an escape that I have had for years. It also means that my mindset will change, I will be better in school, and will get my ass off of my seat. I am in college, but this video still helped me. Thanks, Jake.

For all you young people out there who have bad grades... try staying away from too much texting & cellphone use... which leads to too much social media... go back to the all the fundamentals you can and learn them.

We need more men like Jake in our country. He tells it like it is, and that's what true guidance is about. Nowadays, everyone tries to sugarcoat everything and everyone's afraid to hurt anyone's feelings, but treating people like that only hurts them in the long-run. Just one real conversation like this can change someone's entire life in only a few short minutes. Thank you Jake for having the courage to speak up when it's needed most.

Mentoring these young ones is such a great opportunity for them. I really hope that they grab a hold of you and squeeze everything they can out of you. I just checked this out on Google. The Naval Academy currently has a 9% acceptance rate and a 91% graduation rate. That tells me quite a lot of good things about this academy.

That question that the young lady asked “ if I can balance sports with getting As” is actually a really great question because I think what she is really asking about is how to more authentically improve her position as a partner in the process of school, this is really what matters most of the time, of course you can remove excessive clutter from your schedule but the method with which you do so varies from one person to another because it is per their skillsets and circumstances and I think this is the heart of the issue at least judging from the communication .. which I understand is about performance optimization .. but you know some people just need more time some need more input, it sounds to me like she is saying that she wants to perform well but needs some direction regarding how to do that in a way that is genuine to her character and I suppose that’s probably why you’re having this conversation because it seems like she thinks that it would be productive for you guys to form a consensus about that .. just my observations
