If anyone has any doubts, this is what Pope St. Pius X has to say on the matter of frequent reception of Holy Communion... www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/decree-on-frequent--daily-reception-of-holy-communion-2174

I wish I could receive daily. I'm stuck in a bed, can't drive, sit up for more than 10 minutes, and would give my right arm to attend Holy Mass in person. I watch streaming Mass, daily

Ask your local CMRI priest to hear your confession and bring Holy Eucharist to your home.

There should be a lay Eucharistic minister at a parish near you who could provide you communion on a somewhat regular basis. You should call and get a priest to do anointing of the sick and bring communion for now and maybe see if he can visit 1x a month…get the minister to come on “off” weeks. Being sick is NOT the time to start skipping communion bc it will help you get better. I speak as someone who has been bed ridden and is remains disabled to some extent. I had trouble finding a priest to visit me as well. Eventually I got strong enough to make it to a mass…that happened before any church returned my sick calls. We must continue to pray for the state of the church. Don’t give up on yourself getting communion…hammer that phone and leave messages etc until you get a priest to agree to minister to you. Your situation is the exact one our Shepards are supposed to tend to! God bless you. I pray for your healing as well.

Daily act of spiritual communion, I’ve been saying it only for the last 1-2 weeks but I feel like the Lord has been more present in me

Spiritual communion is Real. Many people do these acts of love and ask Jesus to come into your heart/ soul and to sanctify you.🕊️

It's true when he says that true wisdom and knowledge come from God, and that studying a lot makes no difference when you're in sin. At one point I was deep in sin and could not, for the life of me, figure out a solution to a coding problem. Then one day I went to confession and received communion, and all of a sudden the answers started flowing to me like magic. It became significantly easier to study and learn.

Thank you for this! I sometimes wonder if I am doing it right. I go to confession once a month during first friday or wednesday as part of devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart. I sometimes wonder if it is enough…but thank you for this video it’s really helpful! Especially to that advice to examine the conscience if needed more frequent confession and have a firm /strong resolution not to commit grave/mortal habitual sin. Once again, thank you and God bless you!

I desire to receive the Holy Eucharist daily too. Although I can’t drive myself to a church and there’s no one who’s around to take me but I’m willing to wake-up extra early to go since I’m still a student.

I am sorry. I thought you are in the US. Here even if the priest is shared with two other smaller parishes, they would still have a bulletin or newsletter (paper) that helps in coordinating the activities in each parish even if confession is only available once or twice a month in each parish.

Even if they don’t have a bulletin, you could go up to your priest and ask him when Confession is. Being free from mortal sin is incredibly important, as you know

You know, back in the Middle Ages, the Church had the faithful only receive Holy Communion once a year in order to instill in them the sense of how very precious this sacrament is. Was that wrong?
@rwmlknjyr
@rwmlknjyr 3 месяца назад
Yes.
@alphaomega238
@alphaomega238 3 месяца назад
@@rwmlknjyrFamiliarity breeds contempt. When you observe how most Catholics receive Holy Communion nowadays, you wouldn't get the impression that they are receiving the God of the universe into themselves. Most approach it as a routine affair, and seldom (if ever) go to confession. Frequent reception of this sacrament makes it routine for most Catholics.
@stormchaser9738
@stormchaser9738 3 месяца назад
I would read the link that Matthew put at the top. Pope Pius X published a definitive decree stating essentially: 1.) The only state required for reception is a state of grace, not any higher level of perfection. 2.) Reception should be as often as possible. Eg: even in religious orders that included reception days as part of their rule, Pope Pius X ordered that those be construed as minimums so that a religious could go every day. He also commanded that all religious institutions and schools offer daily mass.
@alphaomega238
@alphaomega238 3 месяца назад
A "definitive decree"? That cannot be a matter of dogma, otherwise one would have to say that the Church was in error in the the Middle Ages when it taught that reception of Holy Communion should be infrequent. Are Catholic saints and popes of modern times necessarily superior to those of earlier times? When one observes how degenerate Christendom has become in modern times, one has to wonder if this teaching on frequent reception of Holy Communion represents a good heart, but a soft head. The pastoral fruits speak for themselves in terms of how routine and banal the reception of Holy Communion has become for most Catholics.
