@edollasign2729 i dont tip by not ordering takeout. I dont like this tip culture unless it's a fancy high-end restaurant i may tip 20 to 100 then depending. I just cook my food at home. Everyone should cook at home so we can abolish this tip culture in fastfood delivery. You already make 2 to 3x more than employees in mcdonalds and other jobs that pay under 18 an hour. You should be grateful that you can make atleast a thousand a week in profit if you put 30 hours in. While a tenth of the country make minimum wage getting max 400 dollars a week for even more stressful 30 hour work week.
@@jake9613 Eating food on the clock, stealing, no show, on phone too much while working, bathroom banging, leaving on break but not coming back, lazy, unprofessional, etc probably all of the above😂!
Worked in restaurant in HS and college. Once you start to see the screen stay full of orders you just gotta realize no matter how fast you go it’s not gonna make the orders stop lol
It's almost like people don't know what a referential image is. I can promise you people quit if something like this popped off. You have people yelling at you, a mountain of orders you don't know what's up or if it's a prank, and between all that and the angry customers you realize you're not paid enough to deal with that nonsense. I have personally watched someone at McDonald's quit because a group ordered 35 double cheeseburgers. One dude got sick in the trash and the employee asked to change out the bag noped out of there. Between the 35 burgers and fry order + drive-through + vomit - paid enough = not worth it.
@@cctomcat321 Mc Donald's pays $16 an hour, and appears to be a job more fitting for teenagers. Best to teach children early to aim for a career or they'll be struggling to flipping burgers as an adult 🍔
@@cctomcat321 Something you also need to consider is that there's varying degrees of frustration with delivery apps. Doordash and Skip literally call you on the landline for every order, and call you if you don't deal with an order quickly enough on the app to see if anything's wrong. So, on a completely basic level you're going to need to deal with a phone call for every single order placed on the app. Advanced level is that some restaurants will call and confirm every order with the customer. So, if you work in a restaurant that does that you'd have to deal with a lot of phone calls in a short amount of time. Also, people who freak out over a deal like this to the extent where they'd immediately order a meal are likely the kind to complain for free or discounted food. So, you'd have to deal with at least a few complaints during this entire mess. I could see people having meltdowns in the restaurant and stomping their feet as they leave.
Pizza hut made the right move with make a queue list in the lobby showing a Estimated wait time - on a separate screen - in a place where a high volume of orders is given- that Screen with a queue with customers order estimated wait time does wonders.
@@Will.G33 honestly a lot of restaurants should do this to avoid people getting frustrated or freaking out. I remember a employee thought about a similar idea it would help during rush hour or when there’s a shit Load of orders
@@ms_spinsesh Hi, jersey mike's employee from PA here, story isn't a lie. This entire event started and ended very quickly it was handled poorly, and a lot of workers across the country did quit from frustration.
Been DoorDashing for 2 years and never got an order there either and theres 2 locations in my little ass town. And also this video is fake this there was never a deal like that lol.
I was dashing during this time. There were about 40 of us waiting in like for our orders and there were receipts all over the counter. I never knew why that happened until I just saw this video😂😂
Bro i was working at jersey mikes back around 2020 when something similar happened… door dash tickets up the arse non stop. when dashsers/customers came in it was chaos it was the worse day Ive ever had at any job. I quit that same day.
prime example of people on the internet completely twisting someone's words lmao. the guy didn't even go into detail and you jump to this conclusion about his character from a single comment. weak mind @@EikottXD
It feels like quitting is seriously the only thing you can do as a minimum wage worker asides something that would put you behind bars, you should never let someone think that they own you and i am so proud of the people that did so the business truly sees the scope of their fuckup.
Thats almost as crazy as the time wing stop was selling 10,000$ of wings for 1$ for an hour on a Wednesday until they caught on to selling 1000x the food for what i was paying......... 💀
Few days ago I went through the McDonald’s drive through and they gave my order and another bag with 6 large fries on accident told me they can’t take them back through the window 😎
This ain't the first time JMike's has done something like this to their employees. They don't get paid nearly enough for this shit. I used to work there barely making $10.50 an hr (and we had to remind the franchise owner several times to change our payrate in the system after getting a raise). We were up there at 8am everyday prepping all the food & sometimes making large catering orders for local school teams on top of that before the store even opens. Glad I don't work there anymore.
That’s illegal. You can sue them for back pay. For example, I have a sister who worked as a corrections officer and they were required to be at work at least thirty minutes early for a briefing before their shift. They filed a complaint with the DOL and they sued and won.
Dang screwing the employees and customers. Last time I went there the screen asked if I wanted to tip. Why would I tip the cashier for just taking my payment? I wouldn't mind tipping the person actually making the food. I don't know who it goes to.
That's fascinating but it's bad at the same time. In life, nobody should have that kind of influence. We rely on this Doordash and these apps too much. We got so lazy, you don't want to step out of the house to go get your food. Then we get mad when people can't deliver our food on time. The same people that are going through the same thing as the people ordering the food.
Everyone waiting in line frustrated cause they don’t get their food right away 😂 these are the same people that don’t even eat there, only to get their “deal”
Being a cook, these are the same people that see the line, the tickets, and still order. Then complain that their order is taking long and ask how long it's going to take?
@@octoberwildsmoke9065I care about the employees making the food before I do them. Doordashers can be ridiculous. Too many times I've had an order come in and less than a minute later the driver Is there complaining why it's not done. The whole industry is stupid and just pisses off food service workers.
I ordered Jersey mikes online the other day and they were out of bread.. I hadn’t been there for years, and was craving their sandwich. They said, we can do a bowl or a wrap? I got my money back. How are you going to be a sandwich restaurant and run out of bread?
I actually worked that day.we thought the printer gad bugged out when it didnt stop at 3 tickets, which had been the max anyone had seen at one time. After the tickets printed out for 10 minutes straight, we realized we were understocked, understaffed, and very, very under prepared. We heard later that some Jersey Mike's had turned off their online ordering entirely which meant that their orders came to our store. No one told us it was going to happen when it did, we got caught with our pants down. To this day I find myself holding my breath when online orders come in, all because of that one tiktok post.
Keith Is learning rules as well. I’m sure he is doing his best to help businesses & customers so he is going to discuss sales & discounts and such. That being said that, this does fall on Jersey Mikes. If they don’t have the supply to keep up with the demand that’s their fault. If they run this sale again they better have delivery drivers or extra employees and bring it down to carry out. Don’t put that sale on no delivery app. Gotta know how to do things.
I worked at jersey mikes a couple years ago and it was the most understaffed place I’ve ever worked. I can only imagine what these guys went through, lol.
Oh brother. That picture was used because it was taken when Popeyes had the "new chicken sandwich". The same premise, too much work not enough money. Don't be so obtuse.
@@Anonymys43 what does it being a meme have to do with what I said. He talking about one place n showing workers quitting from a different place. Y not the ones quitting from the place you are discussing.
@@Sharkz117 If you take $12 and take off $25 you end up getting $13 negative This means that for door dash to Break even they would have to return$13 back basically they would either have to make the food free or fix their math it's completely wrong the guy would have gotten his food free
Honesty these apps should pay bonuses to employees working at these restaurants. I used to work fast food as a teenager and thank goodness there wasn’t food delivery apps then. There was such thing as down time. Now a days a fast food worker has to sweat and work hard every minutes because of constant online orders
Working in a fast food kitchen is not hard at all you stand n flip a burger or put something in a fryer. Go work in a warehouse or factory where it’s 100+ degrees for 9+ hours n lifting heavy equipment that’s real work
Poor mentality half these people don't even like the food it's just everyone so broke. If you were handing out free pretzels there would be a line around the corner. 2023 USA
@@dilant9181Nah bro, it's just we're not dense like ya'll. It has nothing to do with being different lmao. Just buy groceries and cook, that'll last you a lot longer than any food delivery service ever will.
@dilant9181 😂what's wrong with being diff????😂 your comment is so odd it's ridiculous ....yes ppl are literally following other's instead of their own minds or common sense
Jersey mike didnt wana give me the order before confirming but the app says “confirm YOU GOT THE ORDER” and they wana argue abt it, i will never go back to jersey mikes especially not to order myself
All the food delivery apps are getting out of hand! We were going to place an order, from a local restaurant. Besides adding money, from the normal menu prices , our $40 food came out to $52! With the fees and surcharges, it would’ve been $78 through Uber Eats!😳
People really thinking the popeyes employee quitting cause of this is legit Its called a meme people.....which has been circulating on social media way before this happened
Society is terrible. 100 people standing in a f****** Jersey Mike's really having the audacity to be pissed off about their wait time for their order. When jersey mikes MIGHT have 5 people working. #GoToTheGroceryStore&Cook*****
They were ALL dumb AF if they thought they were gunna make those workers make their food seeing how overwhelmed they were. That whole situation was RIDICULOUS ..
I've never used food delivery cuz the fees are too high. If they would just charge $5 flat fee and $5 for the driver, a lot more ppl would use the service and a lot more ppl would drive for them. But it isn't worth +70% for the company and still needing to tip the driver. I just get mine myself
