We are a family of 6 currently building our dream home our 20 acre homestead in North Idaho. We garden, raise rabbits, chickens, sheep, horses, homeschool, and do just about everything that we can ourselves to achieve a self sufficient and debt free life for our family.

Notice on the first night when the 3 of them are sitting there Neveah's eyes were literally glowing. Not a real red-eye glow but close to it. Sort of eerie And yes she has a natural beauty.

While I was watching this video, my 30 year old son started telling me that his happiest memories are of the two week vacations we took as a family, along with my sister and her family. You're right: you're building memories for your children. The memories you're building will be their happy place"in their futures. The memories you're building will be their safe space, their comfort. You are doing a beautiful, beautiful thing!

Your children will have memories to last a lifetime from helping build your home. My family built the house my mom lives in when I was a child/ teen. We built it over a period of about ten-fifteen years. Each summer we had one project to complete, digging the foundation by hand, pouring the foundation and putting a couple of rows of cinder blocks down, floor joists and sub floor (the summer that my baby brother was taught to use a hammer), walls and roof, etc. My older sister took electrical shop in high school and helped put in all the wiring. Every time I visit my mom I remember all the work that went into the house. All the love that my dad put into it (he has been gone for almost 40 years) but the house and memories still exist.

Just a little hint....if you wear painters coveralls (about $12 a set at home depot). It will somewhat, protect your clothing from the fiberglass. Goggles for eye protections. You can remove them in the new house and not cross contamination with the air born glass partials in the house you live in. It will protect everyone’s lungs, skin and eyes. That stuff is nasty and the partials are microscopic so you won’t notice until it is already doing the damage. Please stay safe....America loves you guys.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️

Great to see Neveah in the new house working shoulder to shoulder with you. I know she has been cooking and working with all other things around the farm, but we didn't see most of that. I love your children and love seeing them and you interacting. I love seeing your new home in the dusk and dark with snow surrounding it. It shows it off beautifully!

I always love watching you work and play together as a family. Today for some reason, the shots of the horse's running sent me into tears 😢 ! I grew up on a 1000 acre working farm. Seeing the horses run and kick up their heels always made me smile. I miss those days and miss my horses that I had to give up 8 years ago and leave the farm. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your family and all you're doing . Thank you for the footage of the animals and your stunning surroundings. Fills my heart ! We all know that Nevaeh does a lot with the kids and farm chores, but it is always awesome when we get to see her in the limelight with you working on the house. Your closing statement is what all parents try to achieve, creating a home and love that will make them want to return as often as possible. Watching your family, I have no doubt that will never be a problem you have to worry about. Great video.

Elizabeth Wittig ~ Did you get to see everyone calling for Kaimani (sp?) when it was time to pull the protective film from the windows? He was fearless when Melissa and Jeremy were both terrified of doing it, lol. Everyone has a special part to play in this build. I really love watching it come together. It was just as great seeing Nevaeh helping out as it was to see the horses flying on the ground and playing in the snow!

Both the horses looked so happy racing around together I think they will both settle in given a bit more time. Such a lovely video to watch each week I really look forward to see how it's progressed. I love it when the Nevaeh helps out with the build. My kids help out with projects around the house and it give them a sense of pride in their home. I thought is if you help with the build you are more likely to want to keep it looking nice.

We just started following your channel. We are also a HSing family from Beaverton, who loves Bonners. We hope to make it back again this year. I appreciate your comment on 'Everything happening here and together.' Our decision to HS 5 years ago, was the best decision we ever made. Especially as we have watched the world around us come to a hault the last 2 years. Our lives kept on in the moment. Neveah will always come back later and remember the part she took in the build. Both my parents are gone, and my sister is in the family home. When I go back I smile when I think about the tile work I helped with or the walls I painted. Good wholesome lessons.

I hope your children will remember the amount of LOVE your family has shared with each other and with others. You have taught them compassion, empathy, sharing, and giving. So many wonderful traits and attributes that all children should be learning. We were brought up to be grateful for what we had (it wasn't much compared to others), because there is always someone that has far less and in worse situations than us. To this day, I hear my father's soft-spoken words to always remember and try to help those in need, no matter what. I still do that and I wish more people would do the same, not just now, but year round.

Plus Melissa homeschools FOUR children, and they did the Christmas Toy drive a few weeks ago, so took a little time off to finish that off? When was the last time you built a house from breaking ground upwards? Just two of you as amateurs, whilst looking after four kids full time? And putting their experience on RU-vid for everybody to see, learn from and to generate an income? You obviously wouldn't do that. Yeah, thought so.

Not only are you teaching skills to your daughter and little ones but you are giving them some of the best memories that they will always remember. Families like yours developed a stronger bond. Later in life they will come back to live in your their family ancestral home. That is the mega beauty of your lives work. The memories you are putting to video will all be something that will keep you guys alive for all your grandkids and generations. You are inspiring others and that is touching true time and space. Reminds me of when we moved from the UK to the Carbbean and my Grandpa who was an architect was building our house. My sisters and I hung around the house every day. It was such a family affair. UK fan...🥰
