How Palpatine REALLY FELT about Darth Vader 

The fact that palpatine was never able to find a replacement for Vader is a testament to how strong he truly was, even with his handicap, he was still the most dangerous force user in the galaxy

Isn’t it funny that the galaxy has access to advanced cloning tech to the point of being able to manipulate lifespans/growth rate of the clones but no medical regeneration tech.

I think palps actually feared vader to e certain extent, which is why he made his suit into such a disadvantage. I honestly believe that if his suit was made in a most optimal way vader could beat palpatine

palpatine only cared about maul because he never failed him (except when he was defeated by obi-wan, but he still killed qui gon), he got dooku on his side just for him to be a temporary apprentice instead of maul, and then got anakin who was almost killed by obi-wan

I think while palpatine was disappointed that vader turned out the way he did, he was also happy. In ROTS he says that vader will become more powerful than any of us to yoda, not knowing he'd burn on mustafar. If he didn't burn, palpatine would have to watch his back for the rest of his life just like darth plagueis had to. Instead, he got a great tool who wouldn't betray him for the foreseeable future, as he was severely disabled.

Three things 1. Vader defeating Obi Wan on Mustafar 2. Vader lost but without the burning 3. Lore Vader with a perfect suit All three ways would direct to an undeniable defeat of Palpatine Its either the fulfilment of the Rule of 2 The realisation that Palpatine is bad Or the clearminded thought of Anakin knowing he's just better than Palpatine

Palpatine spent 13 years of his life grooming Anakin so he must have been extremely disappointed at first. But I think it ultimately worked in his favour in the end. Anakin at his full power would have easily dethroned Palpatine at some point (Palpatine admits this to Yoda in ROTS: “Lord Vader will become more powerful than either of us”). But in his crippled cyborg form he was never strong enough to challenge Palpatine, but still strong enough to be a useful enforcer for the Empire.

In Legends, this was exactly the case. But in Canon, Vader seemingly grew more powerful following his defeat on Mustafar, and even reached his full potential, to the point that Darth Sidious considered him a true, even a perfect sith.

To Palpatines credit, he was also sticking to the traditions of the Sith. Yes, he was a sadistic bastard and took pleasure in tormenting vader occasionally, but he was also doing it to provide Vader obstacles to overcome to make him more powerful.

I'm getting really tired of this. I see these all the time from different people and it's always "Palpatine was disappointed that Vader was so weak, so he hated him" or it's "Palpatine knew that should Vader overcome his depression, he could be powerful enough to overthrow him, so he hated him". It's always people trying to say that Palpatine was disgusted by Vader's weakness, but he simultaneously was worried about being overthrown so he developed his suit specifically to keep him weak. You can't have it both ways just to make Anakin seem more human when he's actually a god and to make Sidious as evil as can be. It has to be one or the other, either Palpatine is nice in the sense that he wishes Anakin had all of his potential and he would have been proud if his apprentice became powerful enough to kill him OR he was happy that Vader was mutilated because it made sure he (Vader) couldn't become more powerful than Palpy himself

From what I heard about the dark side, it seems like physical bodies themselves are a hard cap on potential. Channeling dark side power degrades the flesh in one way or another, that's why so many Sith look like monsters. I wonder how much Vader could have actually done even if he hadn't been injured

You would think Palpatine might have gotten a clue that it was the will of the Dark side for Vader to lose and be mutilated. I mean the Sith waited for what 1000 years in order to take over the galaxy, you would think maybe Palpatine might come to the conclusion that Vader being a burned cyborg might take some time to fully figure out his new strength and powers. I mean I think baseline this new Vader was stronger than Dooku and Maul. All Palpatine really needed to do was properly train him but I think he used the mutilation as an excuse for his own extremely selfish demeanor thinking he could just rule as an absolute Sith Lord and not have his apprentice kill him. You can then see the ultimate flaw of the rule of two as the Sith are always self defeating due to their flawed philosophy and practice of the force.

Vader is literally missing all his limbs, has the worst case of black lung ever, he's insane, grieving, in a constant state of pain and rage, and his suit straight up nerfs him. And he's still the most powerful and deadly force user in the galaxy. The only ones who could even stand a chance against him was Sidious (because he deliberately made vader weaker against him), Obi wan at full power because he trained him, and Luke because he was basically anakin without the colossal nerfs and also literally his son

This video is only partially true, Palpatine did train vader later on at least partially but not in the ways of the Sith or the Jedi, Palpatine train him in the ways of using his force abilities and it is because of this that if you see him in some of the novels his force abilities are straight-up God level

He really wasn’t that mad at a loss of potential anakin’s potential wasn’t harmed in any way that’s a HUGE misconception. Instead in canon he was dissatisfied with his loss as he needed the face of anakin skywalker but in legends he didn’t care that much vader lost and really only called it anakin’s loss, was he disappointed yes angered no. What frustrated was vader was basically whining all the time and couldn’t kill the light within himself this isn’t shown as well in canon but legends it’s so clear that vader isn’t nearly as evil as he wants himself to believe

Yeah but Obi-Wan Kenobi actually made him a favor by depleting Vader's capabilities ensuring that his apprentice couldn't overthrow him. So he shouldn't really be upset of what happened to him just make him believe he was disappointed to keep him below him

this doesn't make sense to me. Vader would've been more powerful than Palpatine and harder to control. By other accounts, Palpatine was happy that his suit and lost limbs limited his power to slightly below Palpatines to where Palpatine was greatful.

No no no. Only people who grew up watching the prequels believe the " Weak Vader " storyline. You notice how only people who were 17 years old or younger believe this and they spread this because of their personal preferences. They also think Revan is one of the greatest force users in history because they grew up playing KOTOR. They are bais in favor of their first experiences in Star Wars and prefer Prequel Anakin. It's a form of nostalgia. The reality is directly shown in the classical movies. Vader never fully embraced the dark side and it is Vader's trauma ( mental not physical ) causing the limits to his potential. Palpatine and Vader only truly clash one time and the end result is Palpatine tumbling feebly to his Death! Vader made no attempts to save himself and so he dies. He doesn't die because he's just vulnerable to everything, he's weak and in a clumsy suit. Like what he was saying in the new Ashoka series, he stopped fighting and he died.
