Let this be a lesson to every club golfer obsessed with taking divots. Johnny is pounding some very pure shots here just brushing the grass. Superintendent’s dream. Divot obsession for most guys turns into a steep chop that yields terrible results. Just look at the horrible inch deep trenches you see on just about every range. You don’t need “full compression” to hit great shots, especially with modern irons. Being shallow with a less extreme AOA will also take wear and tear off aging joints. Still gotta hit down on an iron, but moderation is your friend.
He said something interesting about changing irons. Something like getting lazy and not focusing to get center strikes. I have this exact issue. When I use blades, I focus and hit center. When I try to use a game improvement iron, I don’t hit the center all that much. It’s really baffling why that is.
totaly agree, ive always played bladey type clubs since i was a boy, now nearly 60, lets go more game improvement, big mistake, never hit as many shanks in my 50 years golfing. lost focus,, play what your used to deffo,,,
playing in a sunny day with shiny clubs, your adding 2,3 shots to your score, the glare is very of putting, satin, or even a raw finnish, these weapons would fly of the racks.
The problem will be a large gap in your short irons/wedges requiring another club, so what are you taking out? Just had this problem with Hot Metal Pro's nothing wrong with the TCB's.
Too many variables. Should be doing the comparo with the same shafts and set to the same lofts. Of course the lower loft paradyms are going to travel farther. IMO this comparison is a bit on the weaker side. No tour pro is going to bag the paradyms.
