your attitude stems from a lifelong brainwashment of capitalism, but you are forgetting some key elements: humanity has always been about copying each others data, it already happened 10 000 years ago and earlier, our evolution has always been about copying each others ideas and building upon it, and AI is no different. The capitalist era (which is only 150 years old, mind you), has tricked us into believing in individuality and ownership and that that's more important, but that's just some lie like any other religion. If you stay away from AI, that's fine. But AI is the continuation of us as a species, and it doesn't care if you like AI or not. If you want a future where people have a healthier and happier life, where all diseases get cured and food + housing becomes free for everyone, AI is the only technology that can get us to such an utopia. And AI can only get there through analyzing our data and using it. I think you are just afraid and misinformed.
I think most people who are really into AI (like me), are comfortable with the AI Consuming our conversational data, and even things about us. That's how they improve, they require new data to train them on and if my information improves it, then i'm down.
