My girlfriend (would be wife) asks me to buy sanitary pads for her during her periods as she is in immense pain at that moment. In the beginning She used to ask me whether I would feel shy or awkward to buy. I replied that if a person doesn't feel shy to buy alcohol or smoke cigarette infront of public then why would I feel awkward to buy pads for her as it was a natural thing and not a taboo..

I am a final year MBBS student and wow in my opinion this is the best explanation i have heard that a layman can understand too kudos to you and your team for helping india become aware of this beautiful phenomenon!

Feel so sorry to hear tht our generation still fail to understand that periods r completely natural and not permanent.

I got my first periods at 13 and it was painful as hell. The gynecologist my family talked to about it was a relative and he told me to take birth control pills. A fragile, skinny 13 year- old taking a medicine with the label "keep out of reach of kids" was itself a very pathetic situation. Immediately I had to lie down on bed with immense nausea, headache and depression while kids my age went out to play. After few days I denied to take the pills. The doctor said that I was too "weak to endure" anything. At 19, I was diagnosed with Polycystic ovaries and finally I was sent to a female gynaecologist who validated my experience and included pain, stress and anxiety on her list of symptoms. At 22, as a university student when I wrote an application to my teacher stating that I was absent because of 'menstrual cramps', he told me to reframe the sentence by using the word 'feminine problems' instead.

Yes it's very painful .. even I have so many mood swings+ suicidal thoughts too.. I try to control my mind from thinking bad and negative 😭 I hate it 😔... and I hope people can educate themselves more about it❤...

Al Parents should share this knowledge with their kids for the better mental and physical conditions of their loved ones and ensure that atleast no suicidal incident can be happen due to lack of the knowledge. Keep it up Gaurav for raising such an important informative topic. God bless you.❤❤❤

Recently there was a case too in Mumbai where a 14 year old girl committed suicide because she being stressed for getting period for first time devastating to hear😔

Once in my 1st year of college I had a very bad period very bad that i havnt seen in anyone. It was flowing like river as soon as ai stand up. My clothes were all stained, bench was filled with blood. Boys were told to move out of class. They didnt hqd idea what was going on. My female classmates really helped me in getting out of college thorugh a window, go to a friends rented room on a scooty whose seat was all bloody stained and she gave her own clothes to me. I was grateful to everyone who helped me that day. Thing like that never happened again.

Yesterday i suffered from severe period cramps and it was such a pain that i couldn't even dare to walk. My thighs and arms were in pain and i was crying so bad .i could do nothing but endure it. It feels like we have no option other than to kill ourself. luckily i have my family who were there for me. I'm currently on my periods and I can relate to every single thing that's been said in this video...Every first day of my periods feels like the last day on this planet as I seriously have bad cramps...My last periods was a rolercoaster as I literally thought to self harm.. I was already facing stress,anxiety and depression beforehand and as the periods hit in, my mental health worsened... I believed something is wrong with me or the situation I'm dealing with has to be the problem.. Thank you for creating this informative content. I have a friend who is diagnosed with endometriosis. She sufferred for 15 years...all the gyanacs she approached told her, its normal, i too suffered, it will come down by its own. After her marriage to a doctor, he took her to a sensible gynaecologist who made this diagnosis. She is on treatment now. I am relieved for her, at the same time, wonder why the lady gynaecs didn't understand her problem earlier.
