I'm on day 59! and if I can do it anyone can seriously! the first 2 weeks are the hardest, once u make it through that the urges to watch porn will slowly start fading away and they will become less and less intense, after 2 months I can tell u guys that I feel FREE! I'm not a prisoner of porn anymore :D

It is sad that many consider it normal for people, yet look what it has done to me, it lead to toxic relationships out of fantasy. Im thankful I choose to follow God and actually tried to quit porn, I found myself being more productive and having more time for myself. Its really hard to this day but I know that like many of us, we will go through it and come out stronger than ever before.

Right on Stefan. Another huge aspect of the porn issue is the denigration and humiliation of women. Porn is made to feed on power hungry, sexually frustrated men who really get off from "smacking that bi^&%" and treating her like sub-human. Its a total power trip. Furthermore, porn completely distorts what sex really is between male and female energy systems and solely focuses on pleasing the organs - the banging, the sucking, the spanking.. Men see extremely perverted ways of having sex and then pressure their women to perform to that level, which, by the way, is very very unnatural for women to do but they feel pressured to do it because their men sell this crap to them as their fantasies, that "every man needs to experience" to be a happy husband, boyfriend, etc. Its excellent you bring to awareness of your followers.

Porn ruined my relationship. I thought this man and I were going to marry. He was "the one". He just wouldn't stop. It doesn't only hurt you, it hurts the one you "love" and it still kills me inside to think of it. I miss him so much, but I don't miss feeling worthless because he couldn't stop. Any man who watches it should be warned of what will happen. It's their own decision. But it's also their partner's decision to leave because they want porn more than love. In my experience with men who watch porn, they won't stop. They're not bad people. My ex is not a bad man. It's just a vicious thing. I would watch porn and think to myself "so this is what guys like" porn turned my veiw on relationships and my interactions with men. how you have to be sexier, scream louder, go deeper. but in reality I was abusing myself and my body. years go by I grew older and started to understand who I was and who I wanted to be. so porn has a negative effect on young minds because they don't know better. you got great information for all people!

Agree with you! since my husband is living far for sometimes, when I feel desire to do intercourse I will do it on cam with him. I don't look for porn video. If worst come to worst that I need to do by myself I'm imagining my husband when he usually do to me in the intercours. so this is what I try to be loyal in a good way with my husband and honest to the relationship specially in long distence situation.

I think it’s easy to fall into using porn when you feel lonely and feel like you can’t get a relationship. But the more porn you watch the less likely you are to actually get into a real relationship. Porn is infinitely inferior to a romance with a real person, but porn is an easy fix for feeing lonely. Have to just deal with feeling lonely and develop yourself until you can succeed socially to get into a relationship / romance. Sometimes also it’s better to channel your sexual life force energy towards work and self development. Fapping to porn drains your life energy.

This is tough, but I do want to try. With our decline in sex and me feeling unattractive to my woman, I've resorted to this and it is affecting me in those manners in which you explained. I refuse to cheat to be fulfilled by another woman. I will give this a try starting today, no porn. I'd hate to build a serious addiction and then when she's finally attracted to me again, I can't get turned on by her. Worse case scenario that I want to avoid.

Hey there Stefan! You mentioned motivation and I believe this is key on the subject. One just can't compare the instantly payback of an ejaculation with the medium and long term payback of things that matter. It's similar to alcohol and drugs. It is hard to compete with such level of primitive pleasure. This way, using any of them might push you away from your goals.

I totally agree with what you're saying and want to quit but still watch it. Any tips on how to break the habit? I've tried before and after a couple days without it, I can't stop thinking about anything else and eventually cave. I'm 21, single, and managed to quit cigarettes and alcohol cold turkey but I feel this bad habit is much harder to break.

A thought...perhaps consider a situation in which porn is beneficial. I understand your points and can agree with you on one or two (I never truly considered how my ability to instantly gratify my 'need' for variety was perhaps negatively affecting what I would bring to a partner), but for a lot of men, porn is a substitute aimed at fixing a sexual incompatibility in the relationship. Both sexual partners in said relationship need and want different thing, not always and not at the same time (thus the compatibility is not paralyzing to the relationship), but still so much so that each partner needs to search outside of the strict monogamy of their sexual expressions to meet that need. I am sex positive, and completely expect that my partner watches porn. Denying the fact, it regardless of gender, would be lying to myself, and hoping that I satisfy the every need of my partner (as a complex, constantly evolving being) over a lifetime, would be foolish. You hit upon a salient point, as time progresses, libidos, appeal, and sexual appetites change. As two separate people, I expect we will change individually, and though still loving deeply and caring for each other, change independently. If it comes down to watching some porn or breaking a marriage due to a strict interpretation of sexual monotonous expression, the marriage is more important. The crux of your argument is that sexually we are supposed to completely satisfy each other. I understand though that my marriage cannot bear such a strong condition, because as we grow, it will be tested, it will wane, and wax. Worth more than my libido is my heart. Again, I agree with you - that consumers of porn need to check their habits, and reassess from time to time. The mechanism through which porn is available purports people to easy and that can be addictive. However, expressions of sexuality are never a perfect match in partnerships. There is no perfect 1. I am hoping for a .9, and going to work my way around the rest. Let's at least agree that it is a complicated issue (infinately so, as billions of people each come with different sexualities), and that it is not all black and white.

Tim Ferris in his last random show admitted to watching too much porn and put himself on a 30 day hiatus from watching it, not sure if he stopped watching it all together through. Shortly after that he put out a 30 day NOBNOM challenge, no booze and no masturbation for 30 days. Porn creates a weak mind and an empty soul.
