Britain is on its way to getting a crucial new platform.
HMS Agamemnon has been launched from Devonshire Dock Hall in Barrow, signaling the shift from construction to the testing and commissioning stage.
After leaving the dock, she will be lowered into the water via the ship-lift and transferred to the test and commissioning quay, where her reactor will be activated for the first time.
Agamemnon is the 6th boat of the much-delayed Astute class and is expected to be commissioned next year.

We don't have a large navy anymore so each one of these subs are incredibly important, they are some of the finest in the world and they can't come fast enough, there is just one more to come now, HMS Agincourt which will be the 7th and final of the Astute class, then onto SSN AUKUS.

Britain are building new warships 2 new ones are basically being finished in the the shipyards in Glasgow across from where I live .

Same as we need 12 general purpose Destroyers and 12 ASW Frigates and 12 AAW Frigates but we have just 6 ASW Destroyers, with no on order or even designed, 11 ASW Frigates with just 7 on order, and 5 general purpose Frigates on order. It's completely backwards!

The Navy is getting 10 boats 7 Astute hunter killer boats 7th boat being mothballed & 3 Dreadnought Class missile boats the first being HMS Dreadnought.

The Royal Navy needs; Surface Fleet - 4 Fleet Carrier's - 4 Drone Carrier's (Vertical deck launched, flight deck launched, and well deck launched, drones and loitering muntions) - 4 Amphibious Assault ships - 4 Amphibious Landing ships - 12 General Purpose Destroyers - 12 ASW Frigates - 12 AAW Frigates - 24 General Purpose Sloops/Corvettes (take over the low intensity roles like policing, intercepting, and patrolling from the rest of surface Fleet to free them up for warfighting) Submarine Serivce - 4 SSBN's - 12 SSN's Royal Fleet Auxiliary - 4 Heavy Fleet Support ships - 12 Fleet Support ships - 4 Hospital Ships

Its curious that the UK hasnt adopted a version of the Virginia Payload Module (VPM) for its subs. The VPM is designed to multi role housing everything from missile, hypersonic weapons to drones

It would probably mean a lot of design changes and we can't really afford any further delays, I suspect that SSN AUKUS will feature VLS.

@@AB-gi3qy The smarter play would be make block II of the dreadnought class to mirror the US Ohio SSGNs VLS for cruise missiles and hypersonic weapons, additional tubes for drones and last two for special operations

@@verdebusterAP That would be a nice to have, not a must have, the SSN-AUKUS with VLS modules will be more than adequate for our needs. We simply don't have the resources available (like the USN) for niche capabilities like full blown SSGN's.

During the Red crisis , it was noted that while the Type-45 performed flawlessly as air defense ship, the USN burke were simultaneously doing both air defense and land attack. So question is why the UK couldnt do the same. Additional the USN had a sub also doing land attack The UK Astues were pier side not in combat so the RN should get the resources they need after this

He crossed the sea, defeated his enemy and returned home. How he died after that isn't so important, and there are various versions of how he met his end.

@blazinchalice Achilles and Odysseus were the ones who were responsible masterminds. Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter to the God's so his wife terminated him on his return.

@@spencerburrows3525 There are multiple endings to his story, depending on the region and date. Homer's ending is only one of them, but regardless he conquered his enemies across the seas and returned home.
