My friend, you showed the very software bug that im telling people about at 2:18. Your machine switches off and doesn’t show blockage message. Sometimes the screen goes blank and buttons stop working. Only way to resolve is to remove battery and put back in again. I do like the machine but has too many flaws like weak brush head on carpets, blank screen etc and too expensive lol
My v15 does something similar!! The motor cuts out for a second, the brush continues to spin and then the motor comes back on again It only happens once every few months it’s rare, I do like the V15 a lot more than the Gen5
I felt like you didn’t give it a chance for such a small vacuum, that’s such a big mess! I would have like to see you put the dirt elsewhere and run over the rug again to see if it can really do a thorough job.
Looking forward to the gen6 or whatever they’ll call it. This has all the signs of a first gen product (hahaha) - awesome in some aspects, really lacking in some easily overlooked ones. First cordless with actual DC07-level power!
@Viewer765 There has been no signs of a new Dyson vacuum coming out anytime soon, I really hope they come out with a new model within the next year or two, but that’s just a guess
This is the same tests that Dyson puts their vacuums through to ensure quality control. You could say dyson's testing is even worse as they do it to the point of destruction and actively try to destroy the product.
Tiny battery pack outputting a few hundred watts vs over a thousand from a wall socket ac motor. No conparison of course lol. The gen5 does well considering.
How about vacuuming plaster dust / vacuuming while drilling some holes? The things others do not advise to do? Is it that sensitive? After seeing this video it looks like this can be taken to battlefield lol.
@@parwaz7861 Dang. I was going to use it for that too. Example: drilling and vacuuming the 2 holes to mount the Dyson Wall Docking Station. Not a full home renovation. What if the wall is not plaster and is normal brick? P.S. Thanks for answering!
I personally would use an upright Dyson, the filters have larger surface area so take longer to clog up A along as you vacuum the fine dust slowly and don’t overfill it past the max line it should be okay I used to use a Henry for such things but the bags and filters clog quick and the best bagless vacuums are Dyson’s when it comes to constant airflow PS it’s handy to have a spare filter too so you can have one on the go whilst the other is being cleaned
@@parwaz7861 I never reached half of the dust bin let alone to the max. The upright Dysons are not available in Spain just the sticks. As for vacuuming slowly the fine dust.... it's as fast as a the drilling process goes (10-15 seconds / hole) and as quantity probably a teaspoon of dust? :)) You earned a subscriber today btw. These fast replies are invaluable!
@@saranciuc7717 Many thanks that means a lot!! How about a cylinder pull along Dyson? Those would be another decent option, if not then I think a cordless one should be okay, providing the filter is regularly checked and cleaned Sounds like you will be fine for the task you want to use it for 👍🏽
Specific question, are the screws for the Gen5 Detect wall mounted charger in the same position as the v8 absolute wall charger, or do I have to drill new holes?
@@GarlandTexasSpotter2024 Happy to help - I would steer clear of the Gen 5 if you have medium pile, trodden down deep pile or low pile carpets/rugs because the suction is so strong that the brushbar motor struggled to cope with the resistance against the carpet I quite like the V8/10 models as they run fine with their brushbars whilst still maintaining good cleaning performance
It was on auto mode - it will surface clean better than the upright Dyson, however it won’t deep clean as well as the upright due to the large gaping gaps in the front of the head whereas the upright has sealed suction on the floor
@@parwaz7861not to mention raw power is sustained for longer periods of time because of it being plug in and power generally is greater in corded vacuums.
For a machine that costs nearly£900 i m must say his dust separation n the cyclones r not very efficient as the filter was dusty when u pulled it out which slows the suction over time, a cheap shark would be better in that case
