I got myself a pack of microfibre cloths for my samsung qled ...no water no nothing ...smudges and finger prints....gone
@rgruenhaus
@rgruenhaus 3 года назад
On the Samsung site the only liquid they recommend at the most is water and the micro fiber cloth. They say to turn off the TV and unplug it! But they don't address finger oils. I know the microfiber cloth can remove enough even dry to not notice the fingerprints anymore, but I don't want the oils remaining. So using the 70% isopropyl alcohol can help, but Samsung says NO alcohol! I have a telescope and the lenses and mirrors can be cleaned with a liquid that leaves no trace, but glass and mirrors are not QLED screens that are possibly penetrated by the alcohol. So I am wondering if you investigated a possible damaging affect to the QLED screen subsurface?

SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTON TO CLEANING THE DAMN LCD SCREEN? MINE IS DIRTY AND AFRAID TO EVEN TOUCH IT
@andrewhigdon8346
@andrewhigdon8346 Год назад
@@johnaghadiunowater and water only. Microfiber towels. Don’t buff. If dirt is resistant to being wiped away, you need to keep that area wet for a longer time, just like letting your dishes soak. So either tilt the TV on its back or use string or a bungee to hold the wet towel to the screen. Let it sit until the fabric is much less dry, even an hour if needed. Then, don’t let it be exposed to dry air for any longer than needed, but also DON’T use that same cloth on the same side to wipe the dirt as assuredly some of the dirt will already be stuck to the towel, and you don’t want to rub that into the screen. A d for goodness sake, don’t rub at still, only go one direction, never up and back, or whatever was causing the blemish will be dragged right back across the screen, never a good thing, unless it’s a brand new protective film. Best bet is to flip the cloth over and wipe and have another moist cloth to follow the first one with. Wipe one direction until removed, never quality, don’t create heat, as the screens have a very thin film on them which will deform at the least, or melt and rub off at worst, which will be the beginning of the end for that screen.

You Never use rubbing alcohol on these televisions. As they are more sensitive and as time goes by, using alcohol or actually end up cracking the screen. Alcohol is NOT recommended to clean flat screen TVs of today.

Well I was just about to clean my Samsung 70” 4K tv with alcohol until I read the comments 😂 Comments said don’t use alcohol, don’t use water, don’t use anything.. anyhow I had several apple juice spot on my tv as well as some tiny finger prints. Anyone with a toddler knows what I’m talking about. Lol. I used q-tips with tiny bit of water only on the spots that didn’t come off with micro fiber cloth alone. Basically just got it wet and dried it immediately with micro fiber cloth. Screen is clean and spot free, and no purple blotches or anything.

Best technique for normal cleaning. BOIL some distilled water in a stovetop kettle. Let it cool to about medium. You want it a little hotter than warm water from the tap. NOT hot. It's like any other cleaning. HOT water does half the work of breaking down dirt/grease so you don't have to scrub hard. Just like washing floors. The heat does half the work. Use a nice quality fiber clothe and wet it well. Not dripping wet, but better than just damp. The warm water also evaporates quicker and better than cool water.

My husband has some Phillips hdtv school even cleaner and I used a cloth that said screen right on it and doesn’t help smudges! So you’re right that those fancier (and more expensive) tv cleaners don’t work all that great. I’ll try this because I have rubbing alcohol and it comes in great for so many uses. I use it for cleaning a granite counter top in my bathroom too as to buying an expensive cleaner for granite also. It’s great!

Yeah no problem at all. It leaves no trace and evaporates, it's not like ethanol, which I wouldn't recommend. The fancy sprays you buy are exactly the same, but 10 times the price. You can use water in a spray bottle, but I find it doesn't remove grease very well and certainly doesn't remove fly poo.

BitsBytesBobs i owe you an apology, this does indeed work and for anyone thinking what he is telling you rubbish go onto digital trends website and they give the same advice on how to clean new qled and Samsung Tv screens. Make sure as he states in the video not to use anything other than isopropyl alcohol and no other alcohol based solutions. Also do as he does and fold your cloth and only put a couple.of dabs of liquid on the cloth then roll it round until it feels slightly damp not wet and then wipe a way. So in other words listen to him and i promise you it works. Then from then on make sure to just dust down your tv daily and try to keep clean. If people were listening he said this is for finger prints and other hard to remove things not for your daily Tv clean or even weekly, just do this when ever you need to remove some stubborn marks and finger prints. Thank you again for you help and i can say without a doubt this is the ONLY way to clean the new screens Samsung used and why they used screens so god dam hard to clean is beyond me and they keep doing it time after time. OW AND DONT DO THE NOOB MISTAKE AND LET YOUR TV COOL DOWN AT LEAST AN HOUR OR EVEN DO IT IN THE MORNING WHEN THE TVS BEEN OFF ALL NIGHT AND NOT JUST ON STANDBY.

I'm sure he's well meaning but alcohol does depolymerize plastics and turns them to powder. I think just distilled water and a clean lintless cloth would do about as well. Like anything else you could reduce dust accumulation by just putting a light cover over the screen when not in use.

I acquire broken TV's, fix them, keep them for a while and sell them so I'm familiar with many models of many brands..I use white vinegar mostly but IPA in extreme greasy cases. With all the IPA phobia I see here I would say use a dry cloth or water if it does the job but at least occasional IPA will do no harm..the vinegar usually works great believe it or not..I've used from the inception of flat screen with no ill effects..DO NOT use windex..will leave a smear every time..

Many thanks. There is a protective coating on the screen, but can't say I've noticed them as blue marks. I would never use alcohol on today’s big screens unless you want to remove the anti glare coating that is applied to the TV! You can even melt/smear the screen! Alcohol was ok for older DLP screens to help with scratches and cleaning. You can use monster screen cleaner or just distilled water! No matter what I use it always looks clean, but take an led flashlight and shine it on the screen and you will see bad streaks. The only way to remove those streaks is using a microfiber and your breath and wipe down. It takes me almost 2 hours to get my 75” screen streak free. Always use brand new microfiber towels, because the small pieces of lint from a washed towel will stick to the screen, plus you know you don’t have any contamination in the towel.

I cannot recommend anything but a dry (!) microfiber cloth on Samsung TVs. At least on my Samsung KS8000. I ruined a panel only with a little bit of water as silly as it may sound. I was able to make an exchange, thankfully. However, the panel or the coating is very sensitive to liquids and I wouldn't use any of it (no alcohol, no "TV cleaner" and not even water). Samsung did a terrible mistake with the coating they used, it's so damn sensitive as if it was supposed to stand in a dustfree vacuum behind glass or something lol.

This from Samsung’s website - Never use any type of window cleaner, soap, scouring powder, or any cleanser with solvents such as alcohol, benzene, ammonia, or paint thinner. Never use abrasive pads or paper towels. If you do, you can scratch the screen or strip the anti-glare coating off the screen and cause permanent damage.

Just a very damp micro fibre cloth ,rub lightly then go over with a dry micro fibre cloth. Dampen with warm water. For very stubborn stains samsung says you can use a tiny ammount of dishwashing liquid in the water

All right I've tried this before seeing this video it doesn't work it just leaves a new smudge. So far the best thing I found is Windex wipes. But lens cleaner will also work if you can find a spray bottle of lens cleaner you know what you clean your eyeglasses with that works too.

Alcohol and ammonia, found in window cleaners such as Windex, can wreak havoc on your expensive flat-screen TV, so don’t use cleaners that have them. If you decide to use a packaged “screen cleaner”-which you don’t really need (see below)-choose one that doesn’t contain alcohol, ammonia, or acetone. Also, don’t use any cleaners that contain an abrasive that can scratch the screen.

Three Micro fiber clothes from 99cents store and some dish washing liquid . Lightly wet one put small drop of detergent to mix make sure not to soak too bad if so wring all drops from it . then wipe screen very well with mixed wet cloth, hold screen in back. Wipe section by section. then wipe with dry cloth, then when done final wipe is more like a polishing wipe to wipe in circles! and up down till it looks perfect! I have Sony Bravia 4K 3D tv. works perfect looks clean as fk. No alcohol or ammonia or viniger! this isn't a yeast infection. dish washing detergent will break down grease and lift it to micro cloth. All good baby.

Never ever put any IPA or any form of alcohol based solvents on your screen. Over time it will damage and take of special protective coatings that manufacturers put on their screen. Just used distilled water not tap water .or any cleaner that has no form of alcohol. If that's an oled screen then this guy will be in for a shock at some point as the TV gets older !
