According to The Mirror, royal author Penny Junor revealed Camilla was “decidedly anxious” about meeting William, and after half an hour with the prince, Camilla boldly stated “I need a gin and tonic”.
Camilla and William’s relationship is a lot closer now, many years later, with royal expert Jennie Bond telling OK! Magazine “They have been left, almost literally, nursing the Crown while the King and the Princess recover. Their teams will be working more closely to coordinate diaries and cover the engagements that have been planned, and Camilla and William are bound to have been in much closer regular contact.”

Queen Camilla is a joke. Why did Charles do this to the world?

Why would he want anything to do with her as she made Diana’s life a misery ??

Because he knows the truth and you don't! You know what you saw in the media, which Diana manipulated.

Diana was a hot mess. She had emotional anxiety problems caused by her extremely unhappy childhood. Charles and Camilla didn't cause Diana's unhappiness. Diana struggled with depression, low self-esteem, and self-destructive behaviors, including bulimia before she met Charles. The marriage was a tragic mistake. They were not compatible. Their relationship became increasingly toxic, and both were miserable by 1985. Being unfaithful wasn't their biggest problem. However, in her misery, Diana turned to her bodyguard for a shoulder to cry on, and she fell in love and was involved with her bodyguard Barry Mannakee in 1985-1986. When Charles became informed, he ended his intimate relationship with Diana to avoid any possibility of Diana having a child by another man and passing the child off as an heir to the throne. That would be high treason. Diana and Charles informally separated in 1986. Charles renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla after ending his intimate relationship with Diana in 1986. Diana admitted she had an affair with James Hewitt starting in 1986. Diana had EIGHT or more affairs between 1985 and 1996. Four of her affairs were with married men. Diana knowingly hurt other women. She was not the innocent saintly victim that her fans portray her to be. Why blame Camilla in 1995? Diana and Charles informally separated almost ten years earlier and they were officially separated in 1992. At the time, Diana's reputation was tarnished by the tabloid reports of her affairs. The tabloids labeled Diana a home wrecker. I believe Diana blamed Camilla to divert attention away from her affairs. Diana wanted public support and sympathy. She wanted to undermine Charles and destroy his reputation. After Charles's 1994 confession that his marriage was irretrievably broken down, and that's when he renewed his intimate relationship with Camilla in 1986, it was very convenient to blame Camilla.

@karlamccullough5319 This is an excellent assessment and spot on. Diana was the product of a very bad marriage-alcohol fuelled bully for a father and adulterous mother. It left her craving attention and the more she got the more she needed. She was unkind and malicious to her staff. One house maid resigned and took her to an industrial tribunal for constructive dismissal. About 10 other staff then planned to do the same, but to save her reputation, her by then ex husband paid them all three times what they would have been awarded. One member of staff had a breakdown caused by her treatment of him. When his young son wrote to her, asking for help, she ignored him, and the family broke up. She subjected the wife of Oliver Hoare to a campaign of silent telephone calls, because he wouldn't leave his wife. The calls only ended when Diana was warned by a senior officer from Scotland Yard. She saw engagements as publicity for her, not the organisation being visited. One Christmas she decided that she wanted to visit Mother Teresa in Calcuta, but they didn't want all the fuss and bother that attended her. Instead they suggested that she visit their new drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in South London. That wouldn't have given Diana the publicity she wanted so she didn't go. It's sad that Camilla, who is kind, generous and with no vanity or malice is seen as a terrible person by those taken in by Diana and the obedient media. I liken it to Jane Austen, describing the difference between Mr Darcy and Mr Wickham in Pride and Prejudice. One has all the goodness and the other all the appearance of goodness.

Michael Montagu, Almost everything you wrote is what my research uncovered. I didn't know about how Diana treated her employee except I knew Diana became jealous of nanny Barbara Barnes and nanny Jessie Webb because William bonded with them instead of Diana. Barbara Barnes was William's primary caregiver or surrogate mother. Barbara taught William to walk, talk, and read. When Diana fired nanny Barnes, she had everything related to her removed from the palace. She wasn't even allowed to say goodbye to William. William was devastated. William invited Barbara Barnes and Jessie Webb to his wedding.

I suspect Diana didn't bond with William because she was overwhelmed by severe postpartum depression on top of her chronic depression and other emotional anxiety problems. Barbara Barnes was there the day William came home from the hospital. About six months later Olga Powell joined Barbara to take care of William. Olga stayed until William was age 15. Makes you wonder why William needed two nannies. Postpartum depression (PPD) is a medical condition. Symptoms can include: MOOD: Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, emptiness, hopelessness, or pessimism BEHAVIOR: Irritability, frustration, restlessness, or appearing robotic Thoughts: Scary or upsetting thoughts, guilt, or feelings of failure as a mother ACTIVITIES: Loss of interest in hobbies, activities, or withdrawing from friends and family SLEEP: Difficulty sleeping, waking up early, or oversleeping Appetite: Abnormal changes in appetite or unplanned weight changes CONCENTRATION: Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions BONDING: Difficulty bonding with the baby ~~~~~ Diana threatened and attempted suicide when she was pregnant with William. Only heaven knows what she was threatening to do to William. I say that because my mother suffered from extreme postpartum depression and had fantasies about killing her infants.
