I have taken BH registration from rajasthan, and it is a complete hassle proof process. I have all the documents which RTO could have asked apart from mandatory documents. And exactly it happened, they have asked me the joining letter, transfer letter , salary slips last 3 months. So be prepared in advance, once your file is approved in RTO, rest part is just formalities of tax payment and all. I am working in PSU but still they have asked for joining letter and salary slips. I have provided form 60 and along with that 4 addresses of office and GST nos.
I think the guest has bought the 1.0 Torque Converter version. Pranay- Kushaq comes in two engine variants. 1.0l and 1.5. 1.5 is DSG. Clearly, the guest (as proclaimed by himself) isn’t a huge technical person wrt car ownership. Also, Monte Carlo is a special edition Kushaq. Others like Onyx also come. Classic-Ambition-Style are the three variants Škoda offers.
Hey! Congrats on your new car. Quick Questions: a. If I get the car on BH registration, can I convert the registration to a regular one while renewing? b. If I get involved in a sort of accident or it is being seized by police how is the process then? c. What is the process for exchanging the car with the BH series?
If you go to vahan official government website, it is clearly mentioned that when you calculate the road tax for BH registration, it excludes GST already added in Ex-showroom price. In this paticular case the Google Engineer already paid taxes on discounted Ex-showroom.🤔
Very informative video, however following topics were not covered in it 1) It was mentioned that not all categories of people are eligible for a BH number, if that is true, and suppose I want to sell my vehicle should I search for a buyer who is eligible for a BH number or I can sell my car to anybody? 2) Does having a BH number have any impact on insurance terms & conditions? 3) How easy or difficult is the process of converting my BH number to a regular state based registration? 4) Is there a government portal which shows vehicles and its owners details of a BH number, I mean how many people have owned this vehicle before a new buyer decides to buy it? If there is no such ready information available a second hand buyer can get cheated on how many owners have owned this vehicle before him? 5) Is BH number system going to get standardized in the coming few years across India or is it just on an experimental basis?
1) Yes. If you can't find a BH buyer, you'll have to convert it into a state registration and pay the remaining tax. 2) No impact on insurance T&C 3) Use an RTO agent and they should be able to get it done relatively easily 4) Good question, not sure at this point but if you find out, let me know too? There is a parivahan portal to renew the BH registration 5) No idea. Central govt wants to expand it, states don't want to because they lose revenue (and centre gains)
I got the exact same model with BH Registration from my hometown Bhubaneswar and driving the car in Bangalore. Saved around 2lacs easily since in Bangalore they are not allowing BH Registration for private employees. Also enquired with RTO and they confirmed renewal process in 2years is hassle free and completely online.
@@aritrabhattacharya7722 Sure go for it. If you are employed in private sector, you need to get letter from your company that it is registered in more than 4 states.
@@nainakshat Not really. First of all, it's 20k for 2years not every year. Secondly, I bought my car from Odisha where the road tax is not skyrocketing as Bangalore so I will have lesser installments. Also if I sell the car in 4-5 years, I don't have to pay the full amount. I hope you got your answer.
Two misconceptions here. Firstly, you have to pay the remaining tax for 15-x (x being number of years car used) when you’re selling it. Confirm with your nearest RTO. If you disagree to pay that, the resale cost will automatically reduce as that burden of submitting road tax falls on the new buyer which is not the case of a State number registered car. Secondly- Agreed, 20k for two years (being owner of a Skoda Ambition myself it is a little more). But still, the point I am trying to make is that they are deferred payments. You save nothing. Gives you the illusion of more buying power (what we do with EMIs and expensive gadgets while in actuality, most people don’t have the money to buy it)
The issue is that once you want to sell the car, if the other person in not BH eligible, they have to deposit complete tax for 15 yrs to get the ownership changed
Any resource on this? Because from what I have heard you have to submit tax for the remaining years for the car, so 15 - whatever number of years you have driven the car for.
@@intellectualgravy9796 Yes. Either the seller or the buyer, have to bear the road tax. Point is that the govt will charge the 15 year road tax from you, whether you own the car for 7-8 years or 15 years. Also, if you add the payments to be made in BH ownership structure, it is significantly more than the one time 15 year tax you pay while you’re buying the new vehicle. Within 7-8 years you end up paying the equivalent amount. I see only 2 advantages- 1. mobility across the country 2. Less upfront cost for Road tax which postpones a big payment for now. However, one should not buy a car if they can’t pay 8-10% road tax on the ex show room price. It isn’t economically prudent to do it.
Misleading video ! Why did he got it done in Delhi ? I bought Honda Amaze and got BH number from RTO within Pune, whole process facilitated by showroom officials !! And, selling is difficult. No Spinny, Cars24 or such resell companies take it. You have to invest time to find buyer who is working in MNC, too much hassle.
GREAT discussion gone through this process myself tried to buy BH number for two wheeler but at end dropped it as it was not that worth while of the hassle but in case of four wheeler seems very useful
One thing that you have not considered is when you are selling your car, what if the buyer is not eligible for the BH registration or worse if the state you are selling in does not deal with BH number plates for private sector employees?
True. Selling can be a challenge, the buyer needs to be eligible. Other option is to get the registration changed. However as more BH plates become common place and enter the pre-used market, I'm assuming dealers will find hacks to sell them
Just wanted to give you a headsup. My friend who bought xuv700 in BH series is having a hard time to sell the car. You dont get buyers eligible for BH series so easily
Hi. Fellow Googler here :) So regarding the point about selling the car - let's assume the new owner doesn't meet the criteria for owning a BH number. So, along with ownership transfer, would the RTO transfer the registration to the state where the owner is currently residing in? Also, it goes without saying - at the end of the 2 year period, the transfer would have to be done anyways, yes? If so, then the new owner would have to bear the rest of the road tax upfront. Huh, just something to keep in mind.
Both options are there at the time of selling the car. If the buyer is eligible for BH, it can remain a BH series. If not, they get it transferred to their respective State RTO. Check out the article below for more auto.hindustantimes.com/auto/cars/bh-series-number-plate-everything-you-want-to-know-41711950425769.html
my doubts are 1.what if i want to sell car after 5years but the buyer is not eligible for bh plate 2. What if the person changes to company where it doesn't have branches more than 2 states
While renewing the registration does the owner has to prove there employement ? Because person can change the company and that company might not be there across 4 states in india.
Tell me this..if I buy a car for the purpose of travelling whole India in next 2-4 years, and then I'll sell the car ,is there any way I can get the BH no.
I saw one video of a tata safari owner who complained about this with RTO months after purchasing the car and randomly looking at the invoice again. He was refunded the extra amount.
Thanks for the informative video !! Would you be able to comment on whether renewal would be a challenge if you change job and new employer is not eligible for BH series?
Good question. From what I've heard, the renewal is straight forward since it happens online and you don't have to submit documents again. But best to research a little more on this
@@pranayk37 - I think, if both of you have a mic on you that would solve all the audio issue according to me. Also, I think you'd definitely consider the idea of a podcast as the guest said. Your content is very unique and I can say that your used cars video had made me make a much more smarter decision when it comes to getting a car.
At the time of renewal after every 2 years, do we still have to produce the documents to rto that we are still working across 4 locations or is it a one time process to show the document to rto for getting the bh reg in the beginning alone
No documents required, entire process is online at GOI parivahan.gov.in website, all you need is your cell phone for OTP and vehicle number, that's it.
@@pranayk37 I got it in 2022, got Form 60 from company I work at. It was used in RTO, I think BH number was not that tough in the beginning compared to now. Are you sure we need to again to verify Form 60 eligibility, In one YT video, he was saying no need to reverifying, I also didn't get anything in msg regarding reverifying the FOrm60. Have paid the 2 year tax online and got sms also that its complete
Hi i am from tamil nadu but am working in private sector at pune, my company is head office in tamil nadu i have been transferred to pune! My company has its office all of india(likely tamil nadu , Maharashtra , Bangalore, delhi , Rajasthan) 6months ago i have asked both TN and MH state car dealers , they said governments has hold the BH Series for private sector employees! How come you got the BH number since your also in private sector! Please sir, can you tell me how to get a BH number, it will be more helpful for me
BH tax should be calculated on basic price excluding GST and (maybe including CESS). You ask for refund if RTO has calculated wrongly. Refund process is mentioned in below RU-vid video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Oag5qlszbk.htmlsi=G2irf5k7GHP5nXHO&t=353
Arbitrage opportunity: someone needs to start a fake pvt ltd business with business in more than 4 states and then whoever wants BH registration can become an employee with a certain fee like 5k Rs. It'll sell like hot cakes among the small business owners who are in the market for highly priced cars.
It’s really difficult to get BH registration, I am planning to buy a new car from Acko drive and the RM has told me I need to have a local address of delhi in my addhar card also my office has to be in delhi only which seems unreasonable, since my office is in Noida. Also he told me now there’s a new rule for temp registration also one can not register a Noida temp car in delhi also.
what happens if you join a company which doesnt fall in BH criteria - can we still continue or there is some catch or have to pay remaining amount or have to go for fresh registration
@pranayk37 19:22 guest said he bought it in Maharashtra and did BH In Delhi. I’m getting a car delivered in August 1st week in Andhra Pradesh , but in Andhra BH is not yet implemented. Nearest state is Karnataka BH is available there. But RTO says I should be working in banglore. Or else they will not issue BH plate. Is it true ? Im a psu bank employee. I need some help here please.
I have a question regarding the transfer of ownership when selling a BH-registered car. What if the new buyer doesn't fall into any of the four categories eligible for BH registration? Will they still be able to buy the car? Will they face any issues after purchasing it since they are not eligible for BH registration? Kindly clarify.
Thank you Rajesh and Pranay for this exceptionally well made video. This video literally helped me to switch my new car hunt from punch/mahindra 3xO to skoda slavia. I managed to get a 3.3 discount on ambition 1.5 dsg model and with BH plate I am saving the upfront cost as well (plus additional saving as I am paying tax on discounted value ). Kudos to you guys for educating people on this 🎉😊
Sir..I am working in Kerala and I am central government employee can I buy a vehicle in Karnataka and will I get BH registration in Karnataka since their is no BH registration in Kerala pls advise
Yes, it can be done & I myself have got a Honda bike from BLR with a BH registration. I got it transported to TVM, Kerala by truck. Bike on road in TVM was 2.9L, I was able to get it from BLR with BH regn for 2.1L
ha ha ha these people dont know the challenges of selling the car. I am struggling to sell my car. And make sure you are rejoining in a company which is available in more than 4 states. Because every 2 years you need to submit same documents again to renew. So only I am selling as I joined a startup which is not having presense in more than 4 states.
@@pranayk37i am living in Bengaluru and public sector employee. I regsistred Royal enfield bike in bangalore (New). KA people are very friendly and peaceful. Never heard of attack except for TN vehicle only during kavery water issue. That too KA and TN border. Once a old man asked BH means Bihar vehicle.
@@pranayk37 so bought a Nexon with BH no plate in the month of June last year in Bangalore. And now shifted to Mumbai for work. Not only are people quoting really less numbers blaming the number plate in Karnataka but there is no chance of my car getting sold in MH... So it's a double whammy for me 😭
Certain cases where you move to different cities, it becomes tough, especially Bangalore where other state registered vehicles are usually stopped and pressurized for local road tax
I have a BH registered car ,on my transfer to Andhra Pradesh i am being told by the RTO here that i will have to pay lifetime tax as AP doesn't accept BH .I dont know how to proceed ,will i have to cancel my BH registration from the registered state and then do registration in AP .Getting BH cancelled wont be hassel proof as i will have to go the registered state.
@@pranayk37 I don't want to change BH registration, the RTO person here is asking me to pay lifetime tax if I am staying in AP,which by the way will be at the most 4 years or even earlier .In a way they are not recognizing the BH registration done in other state and according to them if I want to use my vehicle here I will have to pay one time full tax .Can I be forced to do registration here in AP ?
