IRDA guidelines for health insurance 2020 says health insurance company cannot reject a claim if the policy is renewed without a break for 8 years by the policyholder. The 8-year period will be called the moratorium period. But what about after porting? Does this clause stands valid with the new Insurance company or we have to serve this 8 year period a fresh?
Thanks for watching the video and sharing your query. Moratorium period is applicable only with the same insurer, if you port your policy you have to again wait for 8 years to get the benefit of Moratorium period.

Moratorium period was introduced by IRDAI for consumer benefit. In my opinion 8 years is a long time & in current scenario health insurance companies are introducing new features like anything.
