being very new to this most of the video content was new and very useful. I had the basic knowledge to create a rectangle but the manipulation, nodes and short cuts were most helpful and enlightening. Thanks for all you.
Going from Mastercam to Vectric, I knew what I wanted to do and how to do it in Mastercam, but how to do the same thing in Vectric? There was lots of fumbling, failing and frustration. But with help from you and others, I was able to find myself around the software better and began to know where to go to do what I wanted. Now that we have gone through everything you ever wanted to know about rectangles in Vectric, I think brings home the point that it's important to know your way around the software and getting the result you want in the least amount of steps and easiest way possible. At first, I thought Vectric was just a low cost software for hobbyists. I would do most of my modeling in Mastercam and my toolpaths in Vectric, unless I could find a suitable Post processor in Mastercam. Learning Vectric V Carve Pro and now Aspire, I realize i was wrong. There is some very powerful features and functions in Vectric. I even met and sat down with a couple of professional woodworkers who use Aspire and create some amazing things. I enjoy your videos. Even if you are doing something I already, know, there is often pointers and shortcuts I might not be using. Besides I always like to share ideas, pointers and knowledge with other hobbyists or professionals.
CNC Programmer, I'm glad the video was helpful and that you've been enjoying the switch over to Vetric. There's a ton you can do with the software, especially if you know how to use it to the best of it's ability. This goes for any software you're using! Keep up the good work brother!
How would one setup rectangle with external radius so that when you toolpath them it cuts only once between 2 pieces ? Video? You are very good at teaching!
Thanks Garret very informative video. Still unsure about software to use for my Onefinity machine that I have ordered. Leaning toward Carveco Maker Plus but someone else I follow and plan to make the same kind of projects is using Easel to generate toolpaths from his 3d models.
Billy, my pleasure! There's so many different software options out there, some are definitely more user friendly than others. I choose to use and teach on Vetric since I think it tends to be the most user friendly especially for beginners. But, most of the paid softwares have trial versions so you can give them a try for yourself and see their interface. That would be my recommendation for you! Hope this helps!
Almost everything… I want to turn my rectangle. I grab a corner and turn it… what button do I hold down to make it snap to an exact degree… like 90° or 45°?
