I didnt even realise that I accidentally skiped the ashley clock puzzle. I just looked at the little clock on the table next to the big clock and input the time displayed on the mini clock and it worked lmao.

Devs knew exactly what they where doing. Re4 was ground breaking and i like to think devs are giving a little nod back to the fans with the skips tru out the game.

I am so freaking impressed how fast the speedrun community finds all that stuff in such a short amount of time 😅

For the Ashley crane skip you only need 3 normal grenades, you can save your heavy grenades for Turret section

At 6:40 if you use 2 golden eggs it’ll outright kill Salazar. Even on professional so always save your golden eggs. Also the Mendez boss fight can be skipped if you have a sniper and you use an auto save exploit. You’ll clip through a wall and you can just run straight to the castle. Idk if it works on professional though Edit: you don’t even need the sniper for the Mendez skip. You can crouch at the corner of the merchant and interact with him a couple times while moving backwards and clip through the wall. Look up a video on it but it still works

As someone who's been obsessively playing RE4R since its release, I'm proud to say I knew most of the glitchless skips. One thing I will say though: throughout the game, you can find key items to unlock the next area and progress the story. After the items have been used, the game freely lets you sell them for some extra cash. I was REALLY hoping that if you saved these items and didn't sell them, you would get to keep them for New Game+. Sadly, they disappear in every new game so holding onto them is pointless.

Love how they added "skips" to the game purposefully. They really know their fans!

Regarding charms, there's actually already been a few breakthroughs on how to essentially increase the odds of getting the Striker charm. It is seeded but the tokens also do matter. Depending on what the combination of tokens you put in, you can pull from a different drop table. There's a in depth video by Square Pheonix Gaming on thier channel, but here's the basic run down. There's different tables for different combinations, and those tables are used as a list for consecutive pulls. If you put in 3 silvers, you'll get the first charm in that table 100% of the time. Then if you pull 3 silvers again, you get the 2nd one on the list, ect. So you can get S rank on all 3 of the first shooting challenges, save, then pull from your silver table, load save, pull from your two silver, one gold table, load save, then two golds, one silver, and eventually your three gold. Theoretically, depending on the seed, you can actively predict if you're able to get the Striker charm, or which table it's in, or when you'll have enough coins to pull it later on. And I assume that once we know more about how they're seeded, we can make getting the Striker charm for New Game speedruns more consistent and less reset heavy.

What I love about so many of these skips is how they feel intentional by the developers. They really did an amazing job.

The Rocket Launcher is the REAL master of unlocking.

He didn't point it out in the video, but there's a Verdugo skip you can do with the rifle instead of running in a circle until the elevator arrives. You make your way to the elevator door and aim down with the scope, since it pushes Leon's hit box slightly through the door, Verdugo gets confused and just runs at you without attacking. You wait until the elevator arrives and get in as soon as the door opens.

The Mendez boss fight has an even easier skip that can be done on professional. You just crouch near the merchant and as ypu back up against the wall talk to merchant and back out twice and you'll be behind the wall and can climb up some rocks and move toward a yellow tree before clipping back into the inbounds area and see Mendez in first form waiting to spawn in.

hey! I have tip for you! the wrecking ball skip can be done with guns too. in my last few runs I skipped it by shooting the wall with the Chicago Sweeper. more testing needs to be done to confirm what other guns the skip can be done with and how powerful/how much ammo they need.

I can't remember the last time i started a second run of a game right after finishing the first one, awesome game.

Dude I love the fact they did add some cool stuff to make sections faster. That makes me feel way Better about going for faster runs later for unlocks.

newcomers spam some old trivia and well known tricks, blending in my mind to a point where I hear "did you know? the bell that can be rung previously was originally meant to be Devil may Cry 1?"

the shooting the bell to end the village raid part is one of the best little things they add, but making it so you can only do it in new game + is just, wow.

4:23 the pistol can actually be used to ring the bell but its quite hard to achieve

2:43 honestly that's how i did it in my first playthrough and it HAS to be the intended way to do it, i mean you go up the stairs and suddenly there is a giant ass window (that wasn't here in the original) with the big yellow painted weight in plain sight waiting to be shot

I've been loving watching streamers play Professional difficulty speedruns. You need skill, tech and they're still figuring out routing for economy and efficiency. The random nature of enemy behaviour and pickups make it that much enjoyable to watch with speedrunners having to adapt on the fly. This game is already great fun for speedrunning, both doing and watching, a classic for both casual play and speedruns!

At 12:30 where you do an auto-scroller for the lift fight, it's not a skip but helps a bit in ammo conservation. If you press the lever for the iron ball and then immediately go for the lift, it'll kill the red guy as he runs up the stairs.

I swear it feels like Luis' lab key exists solely to ensure people can't skip the minecart this time.

I accidentally skipped the clock puzzle my first play through. I saw a clock on a shelf to the left of the puzzle and just copied the hands and boom bang bop it opened. When I did my NG+ Pro play through I was completely surprised when the solution changed and I finally got to experience the rest of the section. God I love this game

4:11 it's worth mentioning that if you sequence break, you don't get the opportunity for the treasure or the cqb rifle as it requires ashley to use the lamp.

This game really feels like a tribute to speed runners. So cool to see

Funny thing, on my very first playthrough I actually thought (without even checking) that the metal door under the windmill (in the farm area) was locked, so I actually found the shortcut by my own merits, thinking it was the intentional/proper way the devs wanted you to do it (would not be the first time that a door needs to be unlock from the inside by shooting from the outside, uhm... talking to you AC: Valhalla). Only after several playtrhoughs on doing it this way, I saw a video explaining it was a shortcut.

There’s a VERY easy skip for Mendez that doesn’t waste 2 saves. Crouch and back up into the merchants wooden shack wall, that faces the rocks. Aim with the scope and quickly talk and exit his dialogue 2 times and you’ll be behind the wall. I find it’s better to rebind exit key to G so you can quickly spam FG and it works every time

Duffelbag Ashley will never not make me laugh. Probably the funniest glitch/skip I've ever seen in a game.

Neat thing about the A.A gun is if you get the right angle you can destroy it with a single heavy grenade, its not too hard to do and it works on all difficulties

Ashley’s clock puzzle has a changer that if you enter 11:04 right at the start it will change to 7:00 I haven’t tested if it’ll change after 7 but that seems to be patched, at least on Xbox series X.

There's also a skip found for Mendez where you don't actually have to use the typewriter at all, this means it'll work for those S+ runs too :)

For the wreckingball Scene you can use all weapons - i Used once Rocket Launcher, Next time the Sweeper and in my Clean Pro Run i Used a Magnum (i think 2-3 Shots only)

I love what they did with this remake, everything is improved upon and streamlined into a better gaming experience over the original. I love all the little nods to the original game aswell such as the striker charm that gives you faster movement speed in homage to the ditman glitch, Capcom have really outdone themselves with this remake. 5:50 I think 2 normal grenades are good enough for this as well, did this on my last run after hearing about it and was worried since I didn't have heavies so I just tried it. Got me through in one swing

I really hope they don’t go fixing all this stuff in a patch. I don’t personally use a lot of these skips like glitching through the doors but props to people who do man and if that’s how you wanna play a single player game then you should be able to.

I saw a video with a mendez skip using the merchant. watching this game get picked apart has been amazing

You can do the Mendez skip without ever going into that room you can do it at the merchant it’s a wall clip so if you don’t do it right you’ll get stuck but no saves or reloads are required

Awesome vid! You can also use the merchant prompt to skip Mendes too. And I’ve seen someone show if you use scope to extend into the elevator in the Verdugo fight, he won’t attack you, because his AI gets confused.

On my first playthrough on Ashley's section, on the clock puzzle, I kept moving L3 and pressing x until I got it right. I didn't realize that I was skipping half of her section.

i was having a bit of trouble with the bit shown at 3:13 so i decided to take a break and watch this video, then i was blessed with the fact i could skip that whole section lol

The clock puzzle was so easy to brute force, you can just hold to rotate the clock and spam spacebar continuously and you get it open in 10 seconds. Didn't need to individually stop and test every possibility

Now we hope they don’t get patched lol

I love how I was looking at the achievement guide and seeing the speed run and the professional difficulties going "crap" and then I see this and go. "Oh...okay"

fun little exploit for verdugo that i found out on my first run. if you trigger the nitrogen trap when hes a little distance from you and he does that move where he grabs the ceiling and flings himself towards you, the trap doesnt recognise its been used and can be used over and over again. i didnt realise that the traps stopped after one use cause they didnt for me, he got caught in a loop using the same one :).

Fun fact, you can actually shoot the semi-broken wall during the wrecking ball section with the handcannon as well

In 3 play throughs of standard then hardcore then professional I’ve gone from 15.5 hours on my first play through to 7.5 hours on hardcore now on professional I’m on track for probably a 4 or 4.5 hour clear

Something I noticed with Mike's turret section is that you only need one Heavy and one regular grenade to take it out. Somethin nice in case you're low on Heavies.

I did the Ashley skip on accident because the small clock on the counter above the note has the same time that you need for the grandfather clock idk if anyone else has said this but it may be helpful

I'm aiming for a professional S+ run for the cat ears so I can then attempt a regular professional run without the bonus weapons but at least infinite ammo, and yet I'm still getting my ass kicked on hard🤣😱😱🤣😱😱🤣😱😱🤣

Sky-nading in apex meant that's how I killed the AA turret on instinct, I didn't even realise until I watched someone else play that section you're supposed to use a turret 🤣

legit first time i hit that room with the descending bridge i thought "i should have just thrown a grenade as i was getting close, oh well"

A fun fact that I learned about the goat room skip recently on one of my new game plus runs. I thought that you have to time the flash bang perfectly so it goes off right when the cutscene begins. In actuality, the zealot that pulls the lever is standing behind some pillars just waiting for Leon to trigger the scene. You can lob the flash at just the right angle to distract the enemy and skip the cutscene entirely.

Omg. I just realized with the golden egg the quest says "you wonna know why I want it, some things are better left unknown" or something. It must be Salazar who wants the egg so you can't hurt him. Hahaha

God damn. And it took me like 25hrs to get through my first run (hardcore). Which ended up being *way* more wild than I figured it’d be. Professional even more so. And I love it.

for the ashley clock puzzle, to the left there's a small clock with the correct hour

I actually ran in to a different scope glitch. I zoomed in sniped an enemy, then reloaded and zoomed in again and instead of it being dead centre it was bottom left of my screen. After I unzoom in Leon was facing the opposite way. I have no idea how it happened but was funny

Speed runners never cease to amaze me with how crazy some of these are to even think up. I’ve got the fastest possible time for outlast speedrunning and all of the skips in that game are pretty basic and understandable like jumping over the hedge, but in this game some mf when up to a door and thought I wonder if I can open this from the other side if I flick enough☠️

with the canon part in castle, you never had to drop down to raise the canon. you can also circle around the canon on the upper level and shoot the weight from up top.

I def prefer glitchless speedruns... Glitched just feels like it goes against the spirit of it. Especially when there are so many clearly intended skips! Almost done with my first playthrough. It's crazy seeing how much can be skipped, including some REALLY hard parts (wow that wrecking ball section was much more brutal than I expected...)

11:42 there exists a Mendez skip where you flick on a typewriter to get out of bounds and fun fact you can find Mendez transformed out of bounds pre loaded

I got the Striker charm on my first trip to the shooting gallery on my first playthrough. I immediately thought "oh, gosh. This is going to make speedrunning so annoying."

It's possible to do the Mendez skip without wasting a save on Pro. You just need to crouch in the corner and talk to the merchant twice quickly and you clip through exactly the same.

Unfortunately the door clip doesn't work on console in most cases the sensitivity doesn't allow a controller to go high enough for the spin to work and there is a sloght delay on quick turns

Someone found a faster way to skip the Mendez fight. You have to back yourself on the wall on the right side of the merchant's table, interact with him, exit out of the store, interact again, and when you exit out the 2nd time, your body will clip through the wall allowing you to take a route to skip the fight. I've done it on Xbox for 2 runs already

if u dont pick up keys on ashley and go straight to emblem u cant use elevator or that other passage since u havent opened it. tried it and had to do who section again :D

1:15 the only big glitch i got was during the final boss when saddler just stopped moving and i could just shoot all of his weak points no problem

The bell one in the village fight can be done with leons pistol on a new run, it's just a precise shot

I just watched a video of someone on Professional use x3 normal Grenades on the wrecking ball wall, to weaken it enough for the wall to be broken on the first hit. Thus not requiring any heavy grenades at all for that section (not tried it myself yet though, almost at that point in the game though on my second attempt to be able to try that).

You can snipe the guy in the Anti Air Canon. Two Headshots and the skip is Triggered. no Grenades needed.

4:24, it does not require a rocket launcher or sniper rifle only, I was able to do it with the scope on the assault rifle.
