Your counting system reminds me of konnakol used in carnatic music from south India. Great videos. It's amazing I understand flamenco rhythms much better in English than in Spanish... Gracias por tu trabajo! 👍
Thank you Juan! 🙏Yes, you are right! I’m studying Konnakol and it helps a lot. Flamenco usually uses syllables to sing the “soniquete”, the rhythmic melody, but without a consistent system.
@@FlamencoMAPS it is clicking 😀 - for example there is traditional footwork for Tangos that goes with the taka and the tikota so I can put that to the 3 combinations and it is making me aware of the subdivisions. But doing this is foreign to me so I'm still working on it...
@@FlamencoMAPS thanks, I always loved Flamenco since I heard it the first time at the age of 13. I am now close to 60 and have the time to study it in earnest which I have been doing now for 18 months. I play guitar and I am subscribed to many sites her on YT but most of them concentrate on the guitar only and I think I have now to look at the whole picture letras - cante - baile - palmas - toca to be able to play with others. That's how I discovered your site. I have to add that I am sorry for being impolite and that I forget to mention that your channel provides fantastic content. Thankyou for your efforts!
