majority of the Ukrainian commanders in the front are actually foreign. The way how they laid out their strategic plans is very organized and effective compared to the crimean crisis where it becomes a meat grinder due to incompetency of Ukrainian COs

The Ukrainians are fighting for their homes, their land, they are fighting in truth, and God is with them.

Everything about Russian tactics is elementary. Its only good against inferior numbers with inferior equipment. Thats why they struggled against Finland and honestly germany in ww2 were defeated by the elements and lack of supply. Russia always runs and hides for winter, and they attack like zombies, and only in massive numbers can they win. But also massive casualties.

The warehouse contents bears no resemblance to the records, and nobody did the genuine military exercise because there wasn’t enough fuel to run the tanks because somebody sold it.

They’re hiring uneducated rapists and murderers out of prisons, giving them guns and sending them to the front on a whim and a prayer! The Russian military doctrine doesn't allow for decision making at NCO level to fit changing tactical situations. Orders are given higher up the command tree and there is no allowance made for flexibility at lower kevels. That is why so many Russian senior commanders became casualties early in the war. They were coming to front line areas to give orders relating to changing tactical situations. Most other armies allow that kind of decision by senior NCOs.

Soviet-era doctrine means junior NCOs and enlisted troops aren’t told about strategic objectives for ‘security’ reasons. The sort of paranoia and distrust that characterized government in the USSR also permeated through the military. Russia hasn’t reformed.
