Many of us Indians are grown up reading Russian tales.....and we too use plastic covering for books so that they last long 😀 ...... Love you so much Russians.
Potatoes came from America, slavs use pork and chicken meet, milk and many food from the milk , carrots , apples , tomatoes , bread, kvas from bread (in Russia (it's black bread beer without alcohol) ), hunny , many kinds of berrie and beet
In times when all Europe create and drink beer slavs haven't high alcohol drinking very long time till begun to create samogon and girilka (kinds of vodka that create on the apples or milk and etc). Vodka came after evolution of food and same drinks from milk
Slavs maybe Slavs, but us Germans can't think of any side dish apart from potatoes either. And soup is very important , too. Chicken-noodle-soup is considered medicine for every possible ailment. And we also have hundreds of stews which we also call soup. We eat lots of cabbage, red beet and herring as well. So not such a big difference.
I am from Bangladesh and Russian fables and fairytales were very famous in our childhood. It was all translated in our language. We used to buy Russian magazines called Soviet Union and Soviet Women. So I grew up with a lot of love and passion for Russia. I wish to visit Russia one day.
Soviet Union, Soviet Women - this is the real soviet propaganda, that is the world which does not exist and never existed. You cannot read in such magazines about Gulag, famine in Ukraine, soviet secret police NKVD, millions of people killed during WWII and purges in 1930s etc. etc. Believe me - I have spent my whole childhood in a communist country dependent from USSR. There is nothing to love in the USSR.
Moscow has this weird effect on me where every time I visit I try to improve myself. Like by playing basketball or reading books or explore history museums
Incredibly healthy food! I've been watching a lot of these Russian vlogs and two things: The entire county seems amazingly clean and free of any kind of trash. That and the roads and streets are flawless! Everywhere. They're also huge with lane after lane of access. I'm sick of propaganda fed to Americans by Americans about the rest of the world. Russia looks like a proud and beautiful country with an amazing history.
In the cities sure, but keep in mind. Russia is a huge country. The largest in the world. So there is a lot of very remote areas where the roads are either very poor or just about nonexistent. IO know this from watching shows, etc about Russia.
I will explain it to you! If you make a video with the title "how Russians really live" and all you show is your apartment in the centre of the wealthiest city in Russia, eat at one restaurant and half of the video is how you feed a cat... guess what! You get a DISLIKE!
@@raitiC1 Saint-Petersburg is not the wealthiest city in Russia it is far from Moscow. She has a very small and modest apartment most people in the city have much better ones. And yes she shows a cat and a restaurant but that what the most people show in their social life videos. So your buttburn is strange.
Russia is beautiful. I enjoyed living there. Very safe compare to some similar cities in size around the World. The food is excellent and very affordable. It's better to go during spring, summer and/or autumn. Winter can be very cold which is not good for outdoor activities. Plus in addition all the beautiful women just walking around. For me, it was heaven. In two words, "amazingly beautiful". There is no comparison with most western women.
@Communist Um.. in the comment above where this person talked about how beautiful Russian women were and how much more beautiful they are than Western women..?
I’m a Mexican born woman, 23, i was raised in The USA but my nana (nanny/full time babysitter) was Polish/Russian and i just have a natural comfort around russians. I grew up eating alot of borscht, solyanka lots of potatoes, cabbage soups and polish TV💖 Russian culture as far as gender roles go are alot like typical hispanic cultures. Religion, family, taking care of your appearance, lifestyle its very similar💙
I listened to the Russian anthem like 20x's a week. It makes me think of so many possibilities I can do in life now. It gets me motivated and full of energy. Was thinking of moving to russia but have to get a visa first. I live in the states now. Thanks for the video. Can't go until my cat passes away which I rescued. She's EVERYTHING to me. Last finding someone here to teach me Russian. Wish you well and good life. Peace out from US!
I love that there is a cat hanging out in the restaurant Russia seems like such a kickback place I think more and more Americans are going to fall in love with Russia I know I have
Ve half you on report ,Comrade Commie. This is der Hompland Securitee Polize. DO NOT attempt to take your riches out of circulation without prior approval from the Stazi . Ve half your name and number. Be Carfull. Vatch vat you say, we are vatching you clozely.
Love the cat in the restaurant too. I saw no cats as I walked the streets and asked where they were and was told that they are in the sleeping areas outside the old city. I later saw two cats at the Hermitage and was told that many cats lived there and had good care. I bought beautiful cat cups, cat dolls, cat post cards and there were paintings of cats. Friends in Canada who later received the post-card- paintings of the cats remarked on their beauty.
I was in Russia June 2016. It was amazingly beautiful. I have never seen such clean and safe cities. I hope to move there someday, even if it is just for a short time.
@The Racist Russian women are sent to USA specifically as KGB agents to destroy USA. Be careful and do not believe in marriage. They easily change your mind
thank u for posting this. It was quite interesting learning more about Russia. I am from Houston, Texas and enjoy learning about many other countries. You did a wonderful job and as an 81 year old man it is so nice to see someone so young, so beautiful, so intelligent, so cultured and so "full of life". It's great to be young, eh what!
I adore the kitty in the restaurant. I subscribed ♥️ Edit: also I am American but had the interesting experience of living in Russia for almost 5 years (back in the '90s). Old, interesting place and the people for the vast majority treated us quite well. Thank you for your videos. You speak English so much better than I could Russian. Of course, it is well known that Russian is a difficult language (ochen bogati 😁) . Thank you for sharing with us.
I was born in Alaska, I am in love with Russia and its language. Russia has such wonderful people living there and Putin is a good man the worlds media need to wake up Russia is not an enemy.
Bro! Same here (except I’m Californian) I became obsessed when I started studying Russia. It is such an amazing country and although my family thinks I’m crazy for my love to Russia it is just so amazing! The people are very kind, too!
@Соль или Сахар ты тупой или че? Прочитай коментарий самый первый, а потом мои слова, похуйваще что для иностранцев, написал что любит россию и язык, а хуле не пишет на русском
@@КаринаБ-б3к You get down around Volgograd Oblast and south of there, yes it is more temperate climate. But that doesn't encompass a large area. Most of Russia is snow blind or trapped under ice, 300 days out of a year. Hell, even in the summer. I've never been exposed to a more vitamin D deficient society, on this rock.
@@RW4X4X3006 Moscow and Saint Petersburg aren't covered with snow for 9 months. In fact, Moscow often has snow-less winters. And Summers are very hot in Russia. Even our African students say so.
if this was cnn they would show tons of soldiers with machine guns everywhere, people would have their heads down afraid of getting arrested, as if it was a lighter side of north korea.
Funny you mention that. CNN just did a documentary on life in Russia. They talked about the quality of life, quality education and the low crime rates in Russia. Interesting enough they also mentioned that the minimum wage in Russia exceeds the American min wage when you factor in cost of living. CNN, when they showed the military in the streets, was in Crimea.
Thank you for uploading this video, which I truly enjoyed watching and listening to you. I have been to Russia several times, and certainly plan to revisit it again, many times during my life.
Congratulations for 1,000,000 subscribers!!! You really deserve it, you talk about things that actually benefit the viewer. I am glad there are people on RU-vid like you
I really love your video. Especially that cute kitty cat. I am an American who has a huge love for Russia. I practically have no choice to love Russia as much as I do. Seeing that I am part Russian myself. All thanks to my late father's side of the family. Who is as far as I still know is of Russian, Polish, and Austrian ancestry. Where my Mother's side is of German, English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. And I have always considered myself more Russian and Polish than the other 5 countries I am a part of. I so totally wish I could go to Russia. Even though I can only speak a little bit of Russian. But the 2 places I would so love to see the most is St. Basil's Cathedral and The Amber Room. But unfortunately for me I can only see and hear things about Russia either through the tv and the internet. Because of my slight fear of flying and the lack of money. Going to Russia is out of the question for me. But I am glad that my late aunt got to see Russia sometime back in the 70s. And after seeing this video I now know where my love for potatoes comes from. Since I am always eating something that is potato related. Preferably the seasoned potato wedges that I love to make.
Go - its a wonderful experience to go to Moscow and St Petersburg. The culture is wonderful - literate, beautiful art museums - especially the Hermitage in St Petersburg, clean, efficient and cheap public transport.
This is not how the average Russian lives. Like most Northern countries. there is not the wide choice of vegetables/ fruit as Southern countries, so tends to be monotonous. Outside of Moscow. the standard of living drops dramatically. Russia is very cultural and the people are educated. I think this video is very misleading. But, I would return for another visit. Nice country!!
That video hasnt been filmed in Moscow. And there are plenty of fruits and vegetables in Russian stores. In today world everything is easily imported from other countries not to mention local products. Russia is large and Southern parts of Russia have basically the same climate as France or Spain.
I agree with Paul V. - I came to my home country Russia after 4 years not living here and I saw so many changes. One of them - lots of imported fruits and vegetables. I agree that traditional selection does not offer a large variety. Generally, we are conservative and we like to eat what we grow in our gardens. ) But nowadays it has been changing. Russia has been becoming similar to the U.S. in many aspects that I can clearly see (for instance, eating out becomes so common, it was not that popular in the past).
That book is so f*cking cool!!!! It makes me dream about what young people in Russia might have been learning about the U. S. My heart hopes Russian people have warm feelings about our country. I adore the Russians I have known. Such beautiful people and such a beautiful country. We are all so similar in so many ways, yet I treasure the cultural differences and love experiencing new cultures. Your videos are an amazing way to see through the keyhole into your world. So so so wonderful. Best wishes to you!
I have been in Moscow from 2008 to 2009. It was hard time for me. So I dicided to come back Vietnam after 1 year there. Really, I like russian people and I stil remember all good memories there and I can speak Russian well. Thanks for your video. I am Hanh from Vietnam.
Its not really a premium restaurant chain so it has pretty average restaurant prices. To compare food prices it usually pretty convenient to compare McDonalds prices since it present everywhere. In Russia BigMac costs around 2,5$.
Ei, when I was in Russia, Moscow is more expensive than Piter (that's what locals call Saint Petersburg) as a cup of coffee in Moscow cost 12 Australian dollars! Yikes!
It’s beautiful idea to show diferentes place in your video and Russian nice job. I live in MA and come from Cuba. I glad to found your website it’s a blessing to the sky
@Michael Slawson Interestingly, Islam in Russia did not leave any rubbish on the street. I live in Novosibirsk (Siberia) and there is a mosque near me. Islam is a clean religion. It’s stupid to just blame everything on the Islamists.
@@jonathanbowen3640 and u can go to Morocco, Tunisia, iraq , Lebanon, Syria,.... and it'd be so nice and clean if u didn't live there dont talk about those terrorist countries by the name of Islam!
Welcome. For the money that they spent in a restaurant we can buy almost a whole ram. :))) Similar flight, only in the summer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fsROyk9Qb4A.html
I love this! It’s so rare to find such an authentic video of Russia from someone who is from Russia but also very familiar with American culture. Thank you so much for this video! It was wonderful !
Paul V. Yeah but Russian sushi is different from sushi in Japan :'D. I've eaten sushi in the Rostovskaja Oblast in those Ginza restaurants she showed in the video and I've eaten sushi in Kyoto and Tokyo... From what I can tell, it looks like there's something called "American style sushi" and what you can find in Russia looks like this American style sushi rather than Japanese style. But both styles have their good points 😁
Great video. I am fortunate, as an American, to be married to a Russian (originally from near Kazan). The experience has been amazing, and we are shortly moving to Russia for a few years to spend time with her side of the family. People ask me all the time what Russian food is like, and I tell them that they have probably been eating the same things in America without realizing it. And yes, soup is in the soul of the country (we eat soup at least 3-4 days a week). Apartments in Russia are much better constructed than in America (you don't hear your neighbor use his toilet at 2 o'clock in the morning!). And Marina is correct about the metro train stations...they are complete works of art. I drove my wife crazy wanting to spend time photographing the various train stations in Moscow. I could spend a week just traveling the metro for photographic opportunities. Thanks for the video!
This is beautiful😄I was adopted as a child... I was told growing up i am from a slavic nation, but they are not sure what one...So i will be getting my d.n.a tested! I cant wait to find out. If it comes back russian😃 i will be taken a trip to russia!
I wish the US and Russian Government would be friends. Americans have much in common with the Russian people. Christianity for example is widely practiced by Russians.
Russia and Crimea have been joined at the hip for....how long? And Ukraine has long been cruelly used by the Sabbatean-Frankists who plan to Rule The World. Watch the video of Ingrid Rimland and her experiences in the Ukraine until German soldiers rescued them and got them safely back to Germany, until Red soldiers raped and sliced off the breasts of all the women they could.
There will never be real friendship between US and Russia; it is the old land vs sea power struggle. Fundamentally US gets rich in international trade by sea, Russia as a land power is interested in trade routes by land. The two will clash as Athens and Sparta, Rome and Carthage until one overwhelms the other permanently. My money is on Russia long term...
We on the American Right want to have a peaceful world but can’t do that with the constant undermining. Trump is the best thing to happen to the US in decades. We want want to have peaceful relations with Russia. It isn’t the “right” that ruins chances of peace. It is the GLOBALISTS on the left and the RINOS on the Right who want a one world government. We on the Right want all of our nations strong and successful. We want TRUE DIVERSITY while the leftists want GLOBAL DOMINATION and one race of people in the world.
Russia is really amazing , specially that park it would be a great place to refresh one's mind , and that apartment and view from the kitchen was phenomenal , and shopping complex was also really beautiful, Russia is damn cool , They know their tradition and everything resembles it's tradition👌👌👌
@Mannimarco. I have seen videos of Ufa in Bashkortistan, which also looked very nice, just like in this video. I have no personal experience of Russia, so I cannot know how typical any of these videos are for their respective cities.
zzyzx686 if you have seen videos from Ufa (Real Russia channel i guess) thats pretty much how an average Russian city looks like. Not as beautiful as Moscow and Saint-Petersburg but pretty comfortable to live in and of course nothing similar with "middle century"
Mannimarco- It's wrong opinion. I have friends in Pskov, Krasnodar, Orel, Taganrog, Tver, Tobolsk, etc. And the life there is approximately the same. Somewhere salaries are bigger, somewhere are less. But accordingly prices there are less or bigger.
Thank you so much for the tour of your apartment and St. Petersburg! I loved the food tour too! Its' great to find out where the locals like to hang out.
Linguamarina is having lots of fun where she grew up. Food looks delicious, Russians like cats too. Lots of cats in Russia from what I heard. St. Petersburg is where my cousins wife lived in her younger years.
Very interesting video thank you a lot. I like your apartment looks very nice. In my country is the same thing: an apartment with one bedroom doesn't have a living room, but I like this kind of houses. I'm from Republic of Moldova and this kind of soup in my country it's like a national dish and it is called "borș" and it is served in all of restaurants during hole year (not only in cold period), and we also have the meat and potatoes and this is very very delicious.
I found this video in the related videos section. I love your videos, you are inspiring me to create better content. I keep learning the more that I watch your videos. Thanks.
Interesting... Her apartment is very clean. The portion size in Russia seems less than in the US. I loved the couches there and the cat, of course. I like my current apartment. Nothing lasts forever though.
There are a lot of poor and homeless people living in Russia. But in Moscow everything is so arranged that they are not in the center, and there are many in residential areas
The toilet room is rather unusual for me - or is it that i'm not used to seeing it since most romanian apartments have the toilet in the same room as the bathroom. There might be places with separate toilets, but I have yet to see one. I liked part of the wallpaper and the 'picture' in the toilet room along the other tiles. they inspire the writer in me lol
Sapphire Camui Romanian! Why you guys are so rare on the planet ?! :) Romania is one of the countries and cultures that I'm really interested in and when I see a Romanian it's like OMG! :D Well nice to meet you and blessings to Romania! Te pup! :)
I am 70 years old and visited St Pete and Russia for the first time this year. I was absolutely enthralled. I am obviously an American. I don’t know about the rest of Russia, but St Petersburg was fabulous.
6:20 Do you mean compote? It is prepared differently. Looking for strawberries, raspberries, or fruit. It is filled in with water and boiled for 10-15 minutes. A glass of sugar is added. And if you add starch - it will turn out "kissel". And if you mix the jam in water, you will get jam in the water.
What a great little apartement you got Marina. Loved the ceramic tiles - St. Petersburg always seemed like a really wonderful city - Definetly hope to come and visit someday
While I prefer Amercian living spaces, apartments, condos, homes etc. I do love the traditional touches like the tile in the bathrooms that are such an expression of the culture. St Petersburg, the city and the people, are so beautiful and amazing it brings tears to my eyes. While there are many places and people in Russia that are beautiful, for me it is St Petersburg, nowhere else is the same.
St. Petersburg looks really nice. I have been to Russian but not there. I think most Americans have a favorable impression of Russians. It's a shame that politics messes everything up.
You shouldn't call this video like that. Most Russians REALLY live quite differently. I live in Moscow all my life, and almost nothing of what is shown in the video matches the life of the average Russian :с
А что она не так показала? Работающий человек может себе позволить обставить квартиру как хочет. То, что у многих россиян нет вкуса, ну что поделаешь. У этой девушки просто он есть. Потому и квартирка выглядит получше многих.
I was just telling my best friend that I would love to go and visit Russia and that St Petersburg was first stop on my list that's a pretty cool little apartment in America we call those Studios or micro Apartments
Best reason to come to Russia... You! and other Russian women like you! Seriously, the most beautiful women in the world are in St Petersburg. They're also polite, friendly, well educated, well mannered, respectful, understanding and compassionate. I have never fallen so often as I did in Spb :)
Do not forget they charge tourists double price for everything even for museum's tickets. My friend who went to Moscow told me. But the rest - yes, she was very impressed especially with nice and beautiful women, hospitality and their culture. People are very educated and speak English well.
Там суши дорого вышли 730 руб. Ну и обычная скумбрия с картошкой за 1000 - я даже в Москве не видела таких цен, видимо они сидели где-то в центре-центре. Но порции большие, и выглядело аппетитно.
I used to watch old Communist Russian films and the most repeated scene almost in all movies was Russian soldiers peeling baked/boiled potato with their hands and eating it....IT was cool
Welcome to the world Cup.If you have a ticket of a fan then a visa is not necessary. I think it is valid for one month. So it was at the Olympics in Sochi.
A new fan here, just subscribed. Your presentation is educational and interesting as well. I like your down to Earth attitude. Great Vlog! Is that a Shishkin depicted in the the bathroom tiles?
