I'm just waiting on bayonetta to get her time to shine. 😂 take all the beatdown and add "and here is where I found something out about myself" moments to it.
Not many queens out there yet, but Briar and Lute from 2022's Soulstice are strong new entries for the genre. Personally i'm fond of the Four Horsemen from Darksiders as well. Rick and the Terror Mask from Splatterhouse 2010 are a malicious menace of supergore. Heinrich from Knight's Contract, Nariko from Heavenly Sword and Gabriel Belmont from Lords of Shadow are more than skilled warriors themselves with LoS2's Dracula being an absolute monster. To end off, Marlow Briggs, Chai (Hi-Fi Rush), that one girl from Lollipop Chainsaw and Dante (Dante's Inferno) aren't bad either. OH, and Yuki and the Dishwasher from The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile are insanely rapid and evasive beasts of brutality, too! And there's the upcoming Enenra, Genokids and Yasuke: A Lost Descendant to look forward to, as well. Honorary mention to Madworld and Anarchy Reigns with Jack Cayman, where Bayonetta guest-starred as an optional playable character for Multiplayer.
@@Riophi Definitely. Can't believe i forgot about the Werehog, though.. I'm a very big fan of the genre. Sometimes more for concepts around a game than playing the game itself. The stories in these types of games tend to carry a high sense of dramatism, as well as earnestness. Some of which play the drama straight, others are more over-the-top and even goofy about it.
What makes Ryu even more of a menace is that unlike dante, who styles on mfs for fun, ryu does it just to make sure the guy is finished, all the show off my man does is the equivalent of double tapping to make sure the guy is staying down lol
@@matheusrubimdepaoli5409 damn...blender is more effective than a extra headshot but damn atleast leave the bodies visually identifiable bros ops are having closed casket group funerals
@@tomokisakurai3997 I'd say ryu is way more of a savage than dante and kratos, bc while dante does it for fun which indicates a playful nature and kratos does it out of rage, Ryu is just proffessional about it, he displays no emotion in doing it, he is all in on it, he does it and and it's not personal. Someone that does shit with a blank face bc it's just their duty is way scarier than someone doing it out of fun or anger, bc at least out of anger and fun it's displaying emotion, while ryu displays no emotion
"At one point I thought I was in Ninjago" Ah yes, the series where you throw hands so fast the world looks like it's in slow motion and you create a tornado just by beating the hell out of your opponent at incredibly high speeds
With armies and enemy forces consisting of: - Skeletons - Four separate clans of snake people - An army of stone warriors brought to life by the venom of a world-devouring serpent - Robot ninjas - Snakes again, only this time they're humanoids made out of snakes knotted together like a hivemind of slithering scales - Ghouls and ghosts - A snake-themed cult in service of a rigged tournament of elements where the villain hoped to steal all elemental powers for himself - Sky pirates led by a four-armed Djinn - Cyberpunk motor gang yakuza cult - Mad Max-style dragon hunters - Video game virtual reality characters - Fantasy tabletop game foes and tropes - Monstrous tropical tribesmen and marine monstrosities - Oni And there's probably others i'm forgetting.
@@jurtheorc8117 Don't forget the Eldritch God whose intestines are a pocket dimension where every cursed person is doomed to remain for all time Also, since Chima is canon to Ninjago, there's also the ravenous insect people that are hungering to devour more life, only kept in check by the various tribes of anthropomorphic animals that can go super saiyan
@@RavenCloak13 did some research on That and you are wrong. the izuna drop was from a manga called Kamui gaiden in 1969 then in the first Dead or Alive game in 1996 is where Ryu Hayabusa was ONE of the first characters to do the izuna drop and was the one who added the spin in it while the Naruto manga first appearance was in 1999 and the anime in 2002 so it's safe to say that Naruto copycated Ryu Hayabusa's izuna drop and renamed it primary/hidden lotus and not much people know that. Plus the fact that in ninja gaiden 3 razor's edge Ryu Hayabusa is the only character who created different variation's of the izuna drop like: Sword (solo katana and dual wield): Underworld Drop. Scythe: River Styx Drop. Claws: Severing Devil Wolf Drop Staff: Phantom Moon Drop that just shows that the izuna drop belongs to Ryu Hayabusa now since he is the only character that actually got really far with it.
It's kind of funny looking at Ryu nowadays compared to before. In the older games (the Beat’Em up and the NES games), because this dude was simple. All he did was slash you once and that was it, and maybe some ordinary subweapon. No crazy ninjutsu, no multiple weapons, etc. Your boi just saw what Dante and Kratos were doing and said “Yeah I can do that too. Watch.”
Don't forget Ninja Gaiden Z. Not only was Yaiba (the MC of the game) good enough to at least put up a fight against Sigma (current-gen) Ryu Hayabusa, but he came back from the dead as a ninja cyborg *and* he can use zombie limbs as bonus weapons. Imagine telling your friends in the afterlife that a rejected Ninja Turtle villain killed you with nunchucks made from zombie clowns with butcher knives. Wallahi, that's peak embarassment.🤣
Those are still canon with the new games. They take place later, so that's why he only uses the sword. It's too powered up to use anything else by then.
What's scary about all this is that we haven't even seen Ryu peak yet. He's never had a fight where he's truly struggling. Anyone he comes across he claps, enduring at most a couple of scratches and dinks.
I mean he did literally get killed by Doku. That mf was on a different level. But it could be argued that Ryu was caught off guard by his strength and speed. But he def lost that first fight.
I *was* gonna be a smartass and mention the curse from Ninja Gaiden III, but then I remembered Ryu was doing his whole "protagonist has a deadly disease which could kill him at a moment's notice, but he's walking it off like the common cold" schtick.
@@antonhanna2423 "This demonification is killing me... i dontvknow how much longer i can hold it back without my sword.... Lemme just throw this black hole at these guys first..." **casually slaughters an army for 15 minutes**
Ryu is my favorite ninja in fiction, so I'm both happy and hyped thst you're making a "How enemies are treated in.." type of video for his legacy that has run through the gaming industry since the NES.
@peterwhite6415 Can I be honest? Arena fighters for anime is played out And what's worse? Imo not every anime fits as an arena fighter. Jjk imo doesn't.
That boy ryu don’t play I’d quit if I knew I was going up against him. Especially the way he be hacking and slashing his foes in the second one(og version) of course.
When I played the demo to this way back in the day, I turned an enemy into red mist using the nunchaku with the scyth blades attached. It was the first time I'd ever felt bad for the bad guys in a game.
They are buddies with the guys in red who throw endless incendiary shuriken, and the dudes running around with the RYNO from Ratchet and Clank. Trust me, they do not deserve having you feel bad for them.
Not to mention that Ryu not only casually tanked a nuclear explosion at the end of Ninja Gaiden 2 and emerged unscathed, but all he has to do is breathe and any female within a two billion mile radius will want his babies. He has both rizz, and power.
I remember trying to play it on my dad's Xbox when I was 9~10, and giving up after like 30 minutes later when I couldn't figure out the dodge system lol
Bro was truly out here dropping dudes on the top of the head from hundreds of feet in the sky. Then just pops up and go slice a guys arm off, Ryu was truly a different breed.
It makes me happy to hear you mention Ninjago. Also for why he uses different weapons. The answer is obvious, he simply doesn’t feel like that mook is worthy of it. Ryu is clearly being disrespectful, he doesn’t need to go as hard as he does, but he proceeds to do so anyways.
I know you're joking, but I think he just likes to mix things up. In the description log for the Vigoorian Flails in NG2, it stated that he grew fond of using them ever since his adventure in NG1.
Yea game is hard as crap. I managed to beat the black edition on master ninja and it took me forever. Also the combat is really fun when u get a hang of it
Ryu hazabusa was always that dude!! When hes on screen. Its straight demon timing. No talk, just the hands!! You better hope you gain advantage on him, and even then. You gotta work to dent his health!
@@garrettfrench5574 Air grabs you, twists you down to the ground, and harshly stabs you in yo back, then finally, vigorously pulls the sword out of yo back while backflipping away from you...painful is an understatement with that one.
I find it criminal how Ryu Hayabusa is still not a guest character in Mortal Kombat games. Dude is a "ninja who fight supernatural enemies and finish them in bloody, brutal most gory possible he can do". That is literally the definition of Mortal Kombat character. NRS need to start expanding their guest characters outside of western territory. If Soul Calibur can add Star Wars characters, then no excuse for Mortal Kombat games to add characters from Japanese devs. Heck just imagine Jujutsu Kaisen characters in Mortal Kombat game? Damn that will be badass, the hype will be ridiculous if that happen.
Because he can't die after being killed by Doku in NG1. So putting him in Mortal Kombat wouldn't make any sense. That entire universe would be slaughtered by Ryu with ease, so putting him in a game where he can lose and even get dismembered would be doing him dirty.
I was literally rewatching my favourite reviews of the Modern Trilogy and you're here, blessing me with PEAK. How does this man do it? What's the secret to being so goddamn peak bro?
I was literally just playing through all these so I didn't even realize you dropped this. The irony. Most people I talk to don't know this game exists cool to see I'm not the only one.
There also needs to be a joke that Shinada, arguably one of the most *normal* playable characters in the entire franchise, has an entire cache of weapons in his back pocket to fuck people up with, but at the end of the day he likes to use a steel pipe and professional wrestling moves.
No one actually dies. All they talk is how badly kiryu fucked them and seeing the young blood trying to jump kiryu like it an tradition of Kamurocho now. Dude been doing this shit for decades.
Is it me or are these the only Enemies that were so broken, they accepted their fate and Legitimately planned their next move KNOWING its futile😭?? Mals Went deep in this
This was great! The only thing he didn't mention is all the ladies (Rachel, Ayame, Kasumi, Momiji) that they also have to deal with. Not to mention the Dead or Alive cast he constantly throws hands with for fun.
I actually want to see the meme of gojo flicking the reversed technique at toji but its Ryu flicking the piercing void art at Doku,Genshin and the Regent of the mask
Bro you need to listen to his OSTs, shit is crazy, all ninja gaiden songs go hard, even the NES ones. Hell even the OSTs he get's when he is a guest character in other games is fire. His theme in warriors orochi is the hardest shit ever
I liked all your comments to give you the OST he used: Ninja Gaiden Sigma 3 OST: Arachnoid It'll be under "Ninja Gaiden 3", but it's the same track, 100%
bro I gotta say your videogame-henchmen-do-group-therapy series are my favourite stuff from you - you gotta keep doing these man. also I love that Carl always got they back with the BGM at the ready no matter the universe, he's secretly the realest G.
The first time I witnessed Ryu's Black Air Force Energy was during my dad's playthrough of Ninja Gaiden. The moment I walked in, my old man was stacking combos on top of combos.
@@redninja3056Lmao sure let Naruto try to beat a dude who killed the literal Devil, the Goddess, the Vigor Emperor and the legendary Black Dragon and see what happens 😂.
2:31 Ancient Dragon "Gods" to clarify. The Dragon Gods were born from Serpent, the Deity of Creation. And Serpent is descended from Gurdu, which is God in Ryu's universe. Which makes Ryu like a demi-god. The Dragon Lineage descended from the same Dragon Gods that came from Gurdu. They infused their power into the Dragon Sword, and infused their Dragon God blood into the first warrior who wielded it. Which is who the Hayabusa clan is descended from. This is why he's so OP and learns and heals fast, has ridiculous durability and strength, and rarely ever struggles. He's also clapped high tier gods without the dragon sword. I think he's also part demon, since the bloodlines of the fiends and ancient deities mixed in the past when they fought each other. Man is still in his 20's so hasn't even peaked yet 💀
3:38 I'm gone pour one out especially for you my boy. You definitely didn't deserve that. It's a good thing. We're not even talking about the dragon sword from d.S cause he can use elements with that
