It's easy to forget that despite waiting for the Goku fade for more than 7 years (we can say he's been waiting for that get back since the end of the Saiyan saga), he STILL did the right thing and put aside his selfish desires to help prevent Buu's revival. It took literal mind control magic to dig out the evil in his heart to make him act up, and he still did the right thing the second he sensed Buu revival. Gohan and Goku fucked up on their own.

Since super people can now just get exponentional growths from breathing. Now you want to hang a plot point brought up over a decade later about why it happened. I love toriyama, but that’s nonsense. I he wants it to be canon then so be it. But as much as I love him, I will criticize him too. RIP. There’s no reason Gotham should have missed catching that. Master roshi could have caught that just looking at basic history and events
3:35 Vegeta even said so himself, Gohan was *weaker* in his fight during Dabura compared to when he fought Cell. If Gohan *really* kept up with his training, Buu's rebirth would've happened faster, but Dabura would've been smoked
Being honest the Buu Arc is another case of the Z Fighters taking the hardest path possible because they want to fight people instead of wanting to actually stop a villain's plot in it's tracks. They did it with the Androids, and did the same thing with Babidi and Buu.
Eh, it was the supreme kai's fuck up mainly. But the Z fighters also made many mistakes. The supreme kai's plan was retarded as fuck though and is the reason everything happened in the first place.
@@diegocarrillo7512 They all fumbled hard against Super Buu. I still mostly blame them as a collective because once they found Babidi's Ship they should've just nuked the damn thing instead of going in to fight his minions one-on-one and giving Babidi exactly what he wants - energy to revive Majin Buu. The only one coming out of the arc looking even remotely clean is Piccolo since his biggest mistake was assuming a sadistic monster like Buu would take his time killing people who could be revived later instead of Buu just one-shotting every human on the planet with homing blasts.
@DrMostlySane yessir, I've made similar points with Cell Saga when ppl try to put most of the blame on "teen" Gohan. Sure, he was in the wrong at that moment. However, when u consider all the encounters/clashes Cell & the androids had beforehand, Multiple z warriors had to Fluke for the final fight to hav fallen on Gohan's shoulders.
Gohan was literally at his PEAK and just stopped training for 7 years, but if he did keep training like Vegeta in those 7 years, he would literally be probably be one of the strongest characters in dbz.
I mean that's one of the beefs fans have had with Aki but more importantly his editors for years They figured Gohan wasn't cutting it as protag and made it Goku time again So that means 'Han has to fumble everything so badly that the dead have to fix it for him
@@ClericOfPholtus I think it was better tbh gohan not becoming the main character. Gohan has always been a reactionary character, never a proactive character. Its not in his heart to actively protect earth like his father.
An earring thrown by a saiyan and a baseball hit by a human are two different things. That baseball was in slow motion as far as Gohan would see. Gohan missing the earring is him missing an object thrown at a normal or greater than normal speed
@@tetragaming6332 But by that argument it's still bad because Gohan by this point is a combat veteran used to fighting people just as fast or even faster than him. His reaction speed should've been more than enough to catch a ring that Goku just tossed. He didn't fastball it. Plus, given that Vegeta has never dropped a pass we can ignore the difference between that and the baseball.
1:50 Goku should've packed in some heat there. Cuz on one hand, if Goku used SSJ 3, Vegeta's gonna go get a mental breakdown into a literal vegetable. And on the other hand, SSJ 3 Goku's mad leaking with Ki so Buu would just pull up anyway And if Goku fought Fat Buu and Buu survived long enough, thede ain't nobody gonna go and be able to pull up cuz Goten and Trunks wouldn't know the fusion dance. Goku in the Buu saga had enough of that risky Gambling. He out there doing mad play's.
Crazy to think that Chi-Chi had bigger balls than Piccolo. She stood on business when slapping Buu. Even though she immediately died afterwards, she still did her part.
Saiyans are into strong women, Goku might have married because a promise, but he actually knows what a divorce is (surprisingly, considering how dirty they did my boy's intelligence) and they're still together, I'm convinced that slap Chichi gave on Buu must've extended their marriage by at least another 10 years lol

Now that I'm thinking about it, it was Gohan's fault Buu was released. Gohan's sloppy fight with Dabura because of his lack of training for 7 years caused Vegeta to get pissed off to the point that Dabura saw an opportunity which he took by informing Babidi. That created Majin Vegeta who ended up being the cause of Buu's release, so it boils down to Gohan being at fault since he's the reason we got Majin Vegeta in the first place. MalsWRLD was actually cooking here.
2:06 100% true even after Chi-Chi was turned into an egg and crushed Gotenks still managed to focus on playing game and having fun like the biggest fraud in DB history and after Bulma got eaten he still didn’t take that shit seriously like playing hero was more important than getting your getback for your mothers but above all this why couldn’t Vegeta just wait until *after* the shit with babidi was taken care of almost the entirety after Buu hatching can be layed directly at his feet Congratulations Vegeta both your old family and new family was dead and this time it’s because of you Shoutout to the G.O.A.T Toriyama whose work united generations of fans and left a unforgettable legacy
Well that's because Goku only had a day back on earth. Even though he could easily teleport back anytime he wanted proving he really was a shit husband. Handling Babidi would have cheated Vegeta out of his rematch and his pride wouldn't allow that.
@@jefferycrouse4652 do you really think it would’ve taken the 2 of them 24 hours to deal with Dabura? To vegeta, he’s been waiting 7 years for this rematch and the day it finally comes, some stupid Kai’s(to him) suddenly pull goku aside to help them take care of a threat. You have to understand something, vegeta sure as hell didn’t know how long this was gonna take, cause it could’ve taken up the entire day goku was back on earth. Mix that with vegeta’s personality and of course he’s gonna be pissed off and doing whatever it takes to get that fight with goku. Also let’s note the fact that he’s a saiyan. Saiyans love to fight and violence and all that, so him not getting the fight for as long as he did of course drew the evil back in his heart. Am I saying that vegeta didn’t cause buu’s awakening? No, I’m not saying that, but maybe if Gohan hadn’t fucking fumbled the ball so hard with dabura, we wouldn’t be here. @35_riyaanraney90 IKR. Vegeta has been consistent with his fuck ups in DBZ. He provoked frieza into transforming, he's one of the main reason cell achieved his perfect form & now this all because he wanted the power to fight Goku/become his old evil self again, then provokes Goku by murdering innocent people (in front of bulma by the way), sneak attacks Goku after he declared their fight postponed when they had a better chance of beating fat buu together & yet all of that is absolved because of a speech & sacrifice that was ultimately all for nothing (& after all that, bulma didn't confront Vegeta about it when she saw him again after he got wished back).
I wanted to argue some of these, I really did, but Mals was completely on point. I mean, Goku should have realized 7 years ago his line doesn't have that DAWG in them. They not soft by any means, but they don't have that Eye of The Tiger. Goku was already a problem when he was Goten's age, and he can't fathom why anyone as strong as his sons aren't one either. It not his fault that he believes in his son and not only thry fooled around(even seeing their mom die) and didn't know that gohan would soled the buu saga
Plague of Gripes sums up the problem pretty well with Gohan and a little fraction of it with Goten. Pretty much Gohan shouldve retraced his father's steps or something because neither Goku or Piccolo are martial arts teachers. They're great combat teachers but thats it. Martial Arts is self improvement and enlightenment. Its a spirtual exercise as well as physical. All Gohan ever knew was bloodshed, violence, destruction and death since he was 4. No shit the guy hates fighting. Guy's been stuck in battles that make the war crimes of WW2 look like a joke. Goku didnt face any real grief from fighting until Tambourine killed Krillin. All of his friends and family were introduced from martial arts. As much of a jackass that Roshi can be at times. Hes still a wise, sagely man that put people on the right path. He couldve put Gohan on a better path. The whole next generation spiel Goku was on about was stupid because he made no real effort to prepare the next gen in the first place. Fucking Batman does a better job of making his apprentices, self-sufficient and he lets kids fight with him in the streets.

@@arcticangel1628what are you talking about about? Akira Toriyama wanted Gohan to be the big savior, the literal only reason that it continued past Gohan at all is because the publishers pressured him to bring Goku back, because Goku sold better. Toriyama wanted the Buu saga, (which he didn't even WANT to write in the first place) to be a passing of the torch to the younger generation like Goku said. But ravenous fans and greedy publishers will NEVER let a person tell the story they want if it gets in the way of money.
@@moonpanzor That's been debunked a lot, he didn't change it to Goku because of fans. Gohan became the most popular character in Japan around the Cell Games. Toriyama simply didn't know how to write Gohan as a hero which I'll admit isn't the best excuse considering how many nerds are superheroes.
@@arcticangel1628 I half agree. He did write a really terrible arc, it's even worse in the manga, but that doesn't change the fact that the first 3 arcs were legendary, and these "frauds" don't always have to be in the Buu Saga. Vegeta was a fraud the entire Android Saga and a lot of Namek when he kept saying he was going to be a Super Saiyan or that after Dende healed him he *was* a Super Saiyan when he obviously wasn't. It's clear he was getting burnt out, he was just writing Gohan in high school, there was gonna be a tournament, and he still hadn't thought of a villain yet. That's why the writing is such a mess. Shin didn't tell anyone Buu could absorb people because it was retconned. Only just before the planet explodes and he's a kid again does he explain that's his true and most dangerous form. And speaking of retcons, SSJ3 was a big one considering Goku had stated he used his maximum power on the lookout. He literally wrote that transformation in at the last minute probably because he knew it'd help with merchandising with the anime or something. It's basically the only thing cool about the entire arc. Fusion is a cool concept but this arc just didn't feel like the one for it, as it accomplished basically nothing in the end. It temporarily made them able to compete with Buuhan, but that's still not a W if ultimately you get your planet blown up anyway
More like a case of him doing the best with what his editors and the fans were demanding of him while he wanted to take the whole series in a very different direction. Honestly a shame we'll never get to see his original vision for the franchise where Gohan went on as the main protag but what we got was still great
2:43 You can argue the main fuckup in what started the arc is Goku coming back in the first place. He literally came to a good conclusion this prescence is what endagers the earth. Raditz came cause he was on there. The frieza saga is a cause of the aftermath of the saiyan saga. Frieza came back cause of Goku. The RR army returned cause of Goku. Lastly Vegeta let Babidi control him BECAUSE he wanted to settle the score with Goku. Remove Goku from the situation and what reason does Vegeta have to turn Majin?
Nah, just don't tell Vegeta about the tournament and have them do their fight somewhere else. If Vegeta wasn't there, Goku and Gohan would've just dogwalked all of Babidi's minions and Buu never would've been revived.
even if goku hadnt come back this arc woulda happened. babidi was already gathering energy. if goku didnt come, the arc wouldve played differently and later
Piccolo and Trunks don't play. They aim to end the conflict A S A P. None of that "i wanna fight you at your strongest" bullshit, naaah.
