I just had a week in KL and enjoyed it. My favorite thing was all the greenery in the city. It's like they kept a part of the jungle in the city. You picked a nice town to retire in.
When I lived in KL, it became a habit for me to capture the skies view on camera whenever I'm stuck in traffic especially during the sunset or before a thunderstorm.. It's really pretty and takes away the frustration of not moving in traffic for hours xD
Well......the traffic in malaysia now is kinda crazy i would say compare to back in the 80s Now one house has four cars because the economy has been kind to us malaysian....we have the money to spend Not wealthy but good enough i say
There's a conversation which I read about a foreigner asking a Brazilian Amazon river guide about the weather there, which is quite applicable to Malaysia... Foreigner : What's the weather like during summer and winter here? Brazilian : Well... in the summer, it rains every day... And in the winter, it rains all day... 😆 In all honesty, I love the climate here... Especially the stable daylight and night time through out the year... Which makes it easier to plan my day and easier on my sleep pattern compared to the huge daylight and night time difference between winter and summer in a 4-season country.
I hate SE Asian weather.. I have been a FOOL to book 3 months in advance my apartment in KL ... paid 5k eur so I did not wanted to loose it ... I have been out 4x during 3 months... (walking on the street ) -.. Other than that 4x outside I spend my 3 months in Shopping malls... even they are not cooled down as well as Dubai or other hot countries... I swore to NEVER EVER visit SE Asian countries again... It is just inhumanly hot ! I got sick the fist time I went outside ( during night )... I got Cold - from the heat.. I had temperature and was shaking 3 night in my bed... I mean ... 26-30 °C at NIGHT?! .. horrible.. and I am SO angry, that NOBODY is talking about that... everyone is just making lovely videos about Asia, without mentioning the extreme heat and humidity.... I lost 15k eur because of that... could go to Norway or Switzerland for a 4 months... not Asia...
The climate change has impacted Malaysia tremendously since 1998 started by El Nino since then the temperatures are greatly increase with numbers of heatwaves. Then the Al Nina started a few years back which brings more rainfalls & floods all over Malaysia. I still remembered during 1970's to 1980's the weather was static with moonsun rainy season started from October to March & its a dry season from April to September with little rains in between the months. Fortunately Malaysia is free from weather disasters such as earthquakes , typhoons & huge tornadoes. That makes me feel bless living in Malaysia.
I've read somewhere that Malaysia is the no.1 spot for Japanese people to retire. The weather is the main reason as it's rather stable and doesn't fluctuate too much. This means they don't get sick too often and they also spend a lot less money on clothing too
Some people get sick because of season change eg tonsillitis. So westerners remove it when they are young. It is also expensive to buy winter clothings.
One of the most informative weather information about Malaysia. Especially when you includes both West & East Malaysia. East Malaysia usually remains unknown by most visitors visiting Malaysia. Taylor, I wish you a long healthy stay in Malaysia. 😊
Good sir, Malaysia has a lot of seasons, not just dry and rain. We have: 1. Durian season 2. Rambutan season 3. Mango season 4. Duku Langsat season 5. Mata kucing season 6. Star fruit season
Another great video A.T. Well done! At least we don't have hurricane or that sort of extreme weather. Some rainy days are actually really nice way of cooling down. The person below said it well, we're relatively peaceful & stable, for now. Hopefully that won't change much in the coming days/years as the world go through its turmoil... Cheers from the other side of KL
There are many foreigners living in Penang now and mostly are from Korea, Japan , US , Australia and England . There are many choices of accommodation in Penang and the foods are good. You can go hiking or swimming during the weekends with great natural views surrounding you.
Appreciate the weather vlog. We looked forward to the rain since that would cool down the temperature. There have been some serious flooding in some areas.
I’m in Kota Bharu and boy is it wet this season. Most evenings lately but short heavy downpours. In fact one deluge was so heavy that it managed to find its way under the roof tiles on my kitchen addition. Some work to be carried out there methinks!
@@Aeybiseediy There is occasional flooding. I’ve seen it in Penang and KL. It has never been in my Neighborhood thank goodness. Certainly not in the tourist areas. 😊
@@Aeybiseediy Flooding? Lol... October, not yet... Mid November till January is the time floods come to my Kota Bharu, if they ever come this year... The worst was 2014...
Talks about the weather, just watched the aftermath of Hurricane Ian in Florida. Immediately I thought of you and glad you made a move here. Prayers for those effected by the recent hurricanes in Phillipine, Puerto Rico and Florida.
Great video, Taylor! I love the music and photos. It's nice to see the evolution of your video production skills as your channel continues to grow. I assume having great, vibrant malls in Malaysia means that there is no Amazon Prime available? ;) p.s. I hope your condo in St. Pete is OK after Hurricane Ian. The Fort Myers and Naples areas had a lot of damage. Sanibel, Captiva, Pine Island and Matalacha were pretty much destroyed. Any hurricanes in Malaysia?
Thanks so much David. We don’t have Amazon Prime, but I do occasionally order from Amazon as they ship here. We have a few online retailers like Amazon though. I mostly us Lazada and Shopee. I’m assuming I had no damage from the hurricane at my condo, I guess, since I haven’t heard from my tenant. 🤞. No, they don’t have hurricanes here, thank goodness. 😊
Thank you for giving us good information about the weather I was thinking about the weather all year because I am sick of the cold weather and the snow
@5:34... "there's really no season except for rainy seasons and dry season" there are also durian season and haze season (think now there's no more haze, fingers crossed) that makes 4 seasons in Malaysia ; )
rains is good because it wash out all dirt and trash outside and give rainbows and grows mushroom and grows new grass and trees and so on... many more ✌
What a perfect timing on this video? At this moment of writing, state of Florida is brazing for hurricane Ian; category 4 to hit Tampa within next few hours. By comparison, Malaysia has lesser natural disaster other than flooding.
Theres one time in 2018 or 2019 when cold wind blows hard from northern thailand and it reach the northern state of Malaysia to central states. At that time the temperature reach 18 to 19 ° celcius for a week and elementary kids going to school wearing thick sweaters and jumpers. Its really rare and cute to see.
@@joeshmooo5327 😅 bugs are not really a concern here except mosquitos during raining season but there's always campaign to clean neighborhood areas that's been affected like eliminating all stall water where the mosquitoes breeds, and also fogging the areas. Some people just use mosquito cover when they sleep.
If you lived in the quarters area of Oil Palm plantations, whether in Bungalows or houses, you are bound to have the rhinoceros beetles as visitors in the night besides mosquitos.
@@andrewtaylor4558 in the west coast yes, in the east coast of peninsular during monsoon season, if it rains, you have to basically pray for it to stop 😂… sometimes it goes for days the rain only slows down and get heavier switching mode but unlikely to stop.. I’m from KL this was a shock when I first go to east coast during monsoon
Great place I have just come back to Cairns and looking to go bak in December for a few months, the 500 mm a month be just like home I think but we haven't had a proper wet season in years. Look forward to next video great info again.🙏👍
Andrew, one of the places in Peninsular Malaysia that has "perpetual spring" is at Fraser's Hill 😊 I don't think you have made a video on that location yet. I hope you get a chance to interact with the locals there and make a video about it one day 👍For those who love nature, it is especially a bird watching paradise with many expats and foreigners frequenting. Enjoy!
I'm from Trinidad The temperature when it's sunny ranges from 32-34 degrees celcius on very hot days it reaches 35 degrees celcius. So I thought I could handle the heat in Malaysia however in Cyberjaya between the months of March and May the temperature almost never dtopped below 34 degrees celcius and I found it very difficult to cope with the heat.
We love the thunder lightning ⚡️ storms 🌩 in Malaysia 🇲🇾 . Whilst on island 🏝 of Langkawi this past July , had some really amazing lightning ⛈ storms in the evening . We love how the storms tend to come in the late afternoon, one can almost set the time at the coming of the daily storm ☔️ . We look forward to living there soon 👍
Hi Taylor! My husband and I are learning so much from your videos. We really appreciate them! In regards to the weather, I grew up in Louisiana and am used to the heat and humidity, but I don't handle cloudy weather too well. It makes me blue. Can you tell me if it's mostly cloudy in KL, or does the sun shine most of the time? Thank you! 🙏
@@andrewtaylor4558 Thanks so much for your reply! I guess we just have to go and check out Malaysia for ourselves. I'm really hoping we fall in love with it. Please keep making videos! 🙏
I'm sure you've heard Rod Stewart's song. The lyrics are like this.... Have you ever seen the rain.. coming down on a sunny day.. Surely you can see all that in Kuala Lumpur.
Hi , think you for sharing your experience with us. Is it hot and high humidity in August? Comparing los angles where the temperature +30 c with low humidity ?
Hello from CA. getting ready 4 another heat wave, longing 4 cool weather with no fires! Thanks 4 informative weather info. Why did u move from Penang 2 KL? Great malls in Malaysia 2 escape the heat and eat delicious food!
now that forest fire and open burning are less, there are less day where haze occur. for season maybe substitute with fruit season🤣🤣🤣. and yes nowadays dry season are less noticible.
Planing on visiting this year from 22april to 29th april? What would the weather be like. So far its been showing nonstop rain since march getting nervous here
Been watching your video for a while now and honestly we quite enjoyed it. We’re both Canadians and are looking into the MM2H program. Did you use an agent ? How long did the process took you and is it true you’re required to stay there a minimum of 90days per year to make sure you don’t forfeit your visa.
Thanks for watching. Your questions would be best answered by an agent. I recommend Alter Domus in Penang. They are great! Good luck on your journey! 😊
Hi Taylor. Do you find air conditioning is sufficient to cool off your apartment throughout the day? It seems like some people indicate that the a/c is not sufficient to cool apartments or pull the humidity out of the air in Malaysia. I am looking to rent a large apartment in Penang and am concerned that a/c will not be sufficient to cool the entire unit. Do apartments generally have sufficient a/c systems? Any input would really be appreciated.
I enjoyed watching your videos, but one thing is. I really dislike the music everyone puts in the video, which it takes away from enjoying the video completely and not being able to understand you. I recommend you remove the music and not use it. I am from Florida, just like you, and I'd like to learn about Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia. Accept the music it just takes away from the value of the video.
I’m sorry but more people like the music than don’t. Usually people understand me very clearly. Hope you still will try to enjoy the channel and thanks for watching. 😊
