I kinda thought this was just being flashy. But today, I experienced the combination of rain and Blizzak tires in my Miata. I was practicing on some roundabouts to get used to this new combination, and found the understeer and unpredictability to be outrageous. But, I remembered this video and Sakamoto's concept of initiating oversteer to gain predictability. It was ANNOYING how well that worked. Partly annoying because I'm learning driving techniques from a cartoon, and partly because the optimum technique for getting around the roundabout is DEEPLY illegal.
I went to Myogi last May. I've never seen this track before but I have to say, it's really accurate. It really gives you the feeling of how high up it is. The cliff faces are so steep on this section.
Man, you are so talented, as a sim driver and as a content creator. I was watching this video on the TV, and that camera on the last take literally made me get off my bed (00:29 AM here) and look for my phone just to comment here and to add this video to my favorites. I'm more than 10 years on RU-vid and I think I have ~250 videos on my favorites.
There is a contradiction in Sakamoto's statement He said: "rather than understeer which can't be controlled, one should seek from the start to create controllable oversteer" If you create controllable oversteer to counter "uncontrollable" understeer then you are controlling the understeer with oversteer
Not really, because he said “rather than”. He’s doing it to avoid understeer, not to “control it”. He didn’t say “make the car neutral”. He said, if the car can’t be neutral, its better to have it oversteer than have it understeer in the rain
Tutorial by Semick: In Content Manager get into CONTENT->miscellaneous->PP FILTERS->the pp filter you are currently using. Set "AFTER_IMAGE" to 1 in [GLARE] section. Then at the bottom of the section you should see "SHAPE_AFTERIMAGE_LUMINANCE" and "SHAPE_AFTERIMAGE_LENGTH". To see some effect you need to tweak first one to about 5 and second one to about 1.5. You can also increase "SHAPE LUMINANCE" a bit. Depends on cars, you may even need to fiddle with car lights config to get it work. Or just use a car that has brighter brake lights in game.
Hey VS could you please do Inui Shinji lift and coast/minimal braking technique in rain wet condition. Just to see does coasting help you go faster through the corners in wet condition. Thanks!
Sakamoto you fool. Understeer can be controlled very easily, the trouble is the method of control usually involves letting off rather than powering through thus making it theoretically unsuitable for racing conditions...However! It can also be considered that a constant drift is slower than grip, in which case, the fastest route through a corner is to induce a slight oversteer into the corner entrance to keep as much speed as possible before inducing understeer on the corner exit to follow the line; Using the increased entrance velocity to push you into understeer without the penalty of a drift....A superior technique for under powered cars!
@@goob8945 guess you were more lucky, but I did met the Nissan GT-R in real life later too, because it's my dream car and I wanted to know what I'll be dealing with. Now I know that I need to get used to the semi-automatic gears, because there's no manual now. If I fail, I'll settle for a Subaru Impreza WRX, maybe.
@@jordanrobshaw1406 not in real life, only in anime, besides, I sold the R32, don't you remember? (btw I was talking about real life me here, not Rin, so please understand)
