Compare them to the World Series winners back in the days, this team have been coached really well. Brian has got the best out of his players. Especially their defense. They aren't the biggest, but man. They can tackle. Keep going boys!

Dickie Tafua laid the foundation in 2006 when he opted to use Only local Samoan players. He won the NZ 7's by beating Fiji and Hong Kong beating Fiji again. That's what got the ball rolling. Then Steve Betham (coached with Tafua at Vaiala Rugby Club) took it all the way with the same players and won the Series in 2010. World Rugby tried to Sanction Samoan Rugby and force them to hire coaches and players from overseas. Brian Lima is following in Tafua and Bethams footsteps by using homegrown Talent. But his team is Not quite as Physical as Tafua and Bethams Samoan squads.

This has been Samoas next best team since the days of Uale Mai, Lolo Lui and Pesamino. Not to mention that these boys are all local players except maybe 1 or 2 which is awesome

What is there to learn. Its nothing new to Fiji. They have been doing that for decades now. That is why Fiji is double Olympic champion a and current World Cup 7s champ. Maybe Samoa is learning from the Fiji team.

@@vinekeep1 Fiji used to have local coaches as well before and they have won few tournaments as well under their belt. But Serevi was the only local coach that won the IRB series. It doesn't matter where is the coach from as long as the team delivering the results. Even NZ has a Scottish coach.
