I used to hate those things. Now im just happy to see a kid outside and not infront of a screen.

The old Mongoose and Schwinn scooters from back in the early to mid eighties were fun and you could use the headsets, bars, grips, pad sets, stems, brakes from bmx bikes on them to customize them.

I thought you were going to bring up razor scooters. We got those when they were really popular around 2000 because QBP or action had them in stock, and everyone was asking for them. We couldn’t keep those in… It was ridiculous. Even in 2014, we still had people coming in looking for the wheels. They were definitely a gateway drug into BMX. Good point, my man. I recently bought a demolition bmx wheel with a demolition free coaster hub on it. I can’t seem to find the correct model of the hub so I was wondering if I could email you guys a picture of it and see if you guys can tell which hub it is. I need to replace the axle on it and just wanna make sure I order the correct one. Thanks.

my 8y son love practicing bmx and scooter but i thing he prefer his scooter at the skate park. so the week end every kids show up at the skate park with parents and do the pump track with scooter they really loving it lol

RWilly is a scooter kid. He's what inspired me to return to BMX the same way Dave Mirra and Matt Hoffman first got me into it as a 1st grader. I got love for those scooter kids, just not their mom, Kristy Bakingpan following them around threatening to call the cops on us lol

If I could say just one thing about my pro than Hoffman condor is … Ramp room gen 2 love handles 😍yes they have removable grip tubes and it’s a black pair with the same patina as my bike , so my fantastic four piece bars are back up , also have low drag 2 and 92 scud bars , 95 RR condor , 03 pro team condor , 02 pro team instrument , 03 star series instrument, 01 dirt bros patriot , 02 dirt Bros short bus and trailer park all completes save for my 95 RR condor 😊I’ve been so lucky with my bmx harem😂🎉

Phu I like your philosophy on this matter , I’ve been riding Bmx since 1984 , I’m still on my 03 pro team condor 40 lbs bomb proof tank and I used to hate on scooters pretty hardcore, nowadays I just chill till they done then get in there and send it !! (Until monkeys fly )😂

My 5yr old rides both bikes and scooters. But he does ride the scooter more. Once he's strong enough to throw that 20lb bike around he will be unstoppable.

If anyone is riding a scooter and respecting the space then good on them. Especially as so many scooter kids get one as they can’t yet afford a bike and eventually move across. It’s not different as long as they’re willing to listen and respect others in the park, bike, board or scooter. It’s just a shame so many here in the uk are so rude and get in the way 😂

I got less hate 15ish years ago because usually I was doing some simple grinds and stuff on scoot and rode bmx too it's all about being considerate of everyone else sharing the park you do a run and then let the next guy go lol also I think in shoes you would have had that tailwhip first try it looked like you didnt want to commit with the flops on which is totally understandable with exposed toes lol

i think scooters are so popular with younger kids because of the misconception that 20 inch bmx bikes are fit for kids young as 7 years old, a 9/10/11yo kid asks for a bmx for their birthday, their parents go out and buy them a 20 inch and its way too big to do anything on, they get a scooter and its way more accessible for them because all that really matters is bar height. i say this because its exactly what happened to me if my parents got me an 18 inch bmx when i was younger i probably would have gotten more into it instead of starting at 16

When I was skating (board) in the UK in the late 80s, early 90s it was inline skaters that were universally hated, by skaters and BMXers alike. Quad skates and BMX scooters were fine compared to roller blades!! (micro-scooters didn't exist back then)

I grew up doing BMX in the early 2000s, got my first razor scooter and started learning tail whips off curbs. Bolted it up, put a "Your Bike Sucks" sticker on the front and started ripping it at the skatepark, I was one of the first in the area to be learning stuff on it, such amazing days, hot summer nights rippin around town with all the bros.

Cool video, but I would say that scooters are just another thing, u can't confront them. I was riding scooter and I was kinda intermediate and by the time I got a BMX and I had so much fun on that, but I have never throw my scooter out, it is just so fun thing to ride and have fun. I can't understand the hate between skate - BMX - scooter, where did that came from? They all are just different things and u choose what u want to ride - just don't interrupt others. (I know that scooter kids are annoying but skate kids and BMX kids are too sooooo)

I’ve yet to meet a scooter kid who wouldn’t be pumped to get on a bmx bike. Truth is a bmx bike is a big investment compared to a scooter. I try and treat every scooter kid like a future BMXer.

That's not a scooter. Back in the day they had beefy frames, 12in tires i think, gyro front and back brakes, and a board your feet can fit on. The good ol days!

My friend was a scooter rider, super good. I ride a bike, sold him my old one for super cheap. He did everything in a day that took me 2 months. I’ve quit riding bikes with him because it’s so discouraging and his comments kinda made me feel inferior. Shouldn’t have sold him the bike I guess. I definitely suck though. So much better than spending a bunch of money on the sport

Scooter riders I've seen at my local skatepark get older and get a BMX then ask me to teach them tricks and look at me as a role model and I fix there Bikes for them as well 👍🚲💨
