How ships load and unload grain in port 

why? it makes no economic sense to move facilities that already exist, let alone build a new rail line.

@@hfxshippingnewsHPA has moved all other bulk cargo to the Richmond terminal to make room for expanded cruise ship and container ship traffic. The grain elevators are under utilized with more wood pellet cargo moving through them than grain. One of the largest wood pellet manufacturers is in Middle Musquodoboit, and owned by the same company that owns the wood chip export terminal at Port of Sheet Harbour. The grain elevators pose a fire and explosion risk to adjacent residential occupancies. Knauf, the world’s largest gypsum miner has plans to develop a massive gypsum mine in the Musquodoboit Valley region and they would not be able to truck it to Halifax during the spring road closures. Knauf owns land adjacent to the Port of Sheet Harbour. A rail line would support the development of the Port of Sheet Harbour as a construction marshalling port for floating offshore wind. I could go on but that’s enough of a rant for now🥴
