Well, Sony (finally) took control of the anime industry. The firm has a production house, several anime studios, record labels and the western simulcast industry. With this empire, Sony makes billions from animes like SAO or Kimetsu no Yaiba. So, how did Sony build this empire ?

Their transition is very smooth, probably they already know that their hardware product wont last long. Their smartphone didnt sell, they sell their laptop brand, their electronic products decreased overtime, overshadowed by others giant tech company from Korea and China. Yet in the background they still run pretty well. They build camera censor everyone use, they licensing every music, they beat Sega and Nintendo in game industry. Let's hope their greediness wont ruin entertainment industries in future.

This is not only a Sony issue, but a Japanese companies in global. They refused the online transition: that's why China and Korea overcame Japan. Of course, Japan still has animes and video games, but for how long ?

The funny thing is, on Sony Cameras according to some Honest reviews by non-mainstream camera reviewers, Sony Cameras has been having some problem on the Custom White Balance/Custom Setting features. Probably because it's new waters for them.. don't know since I only used Nikon Cameras so far.. But I do hope that Sony doesn't "Westernize" ( Woke-ify ) anime because as a fellow Asian, I don't want Extremist Western stuff in Dominantly Asian stuff. Just my opinion on the matter

FYI In Asia the land where Sony was born there 4 channels under Sony Pictures TV (which means owned by Sony Company) Animax, AXN, One and GEM sold to other company and the victims on this acquisition is India Region because all broadcast has ended a year ago and SEA Region broadcast are safe on this acquisition.

Thanks for the comment To be honest, most of western anime fans are against this merge. It's interesting to see a Japanese people supporting it. Guess you see anime as a competitor against US series. I like it. PS: It shouldn't break the text if you put on G-Translate

It gets worse. Sony made Sally Amaki who voiced Carol in the Tomo chan anime voice the same girl in the Sony version. Sony changes the dialogue to not match the Japanese-to-English translation. Sony made Sally say "dumbbell" instead of "stupid", which is what "baka" translates to. Now the chances of having Japanese voice actors voicing in the translated anime versions is now *zero.* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dvAOYJA-6wM.html

Technically, Sony (or Aniplex) will win much money with Crunchyroll. But even without, Aniplex is making billions with the others distributors (Funimation, Wakanim, Animelab)

Kaguya-sama: Love is War is now making tons of money for A1-Pictures so they can animate more original works. As there exist big blockbuster in the gaming industry so does it in the anime industry and Shueisha is that company you make deals with. Sony has understood the supremacy of Shonen Jump. If you want to reach out to non-fans. Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland and Shadows House. Before Shonen Jump, A1-Pictures committee made some deals with Kodansha that didn't really sold so well. They dropped Fairy Tail and 7 Deadly Sins. They had other anime adaptations of Kodansha mangas like Space Brothers which flopped. I don't know if you have paid attention to Sony's strategy meeting last year with investors? They made anime as the center of the meeting. It's going to be the 4th pillar of entertainment after movies, music and games. They set the plan for anime as "One Sony" concept. oltnews.com/sony-sets-out-to-conquer-the-entertainment-world-with-anime-nikkei-asian-review "The conglomerate aims to make anime a new engine of growth through the multi-channel sale of not only productions but all the intellectual property associated with them." "Sony doesn’t just look at the entertainment side of the anime, but the residue as well. Successful productions generate loyal fans, creating intellectual properties that competitors cannot exploit. Related products, such as movies, games, and music, can turn into vast sources of income." Aniplex is not only pleased with anime. They are looking at residue like games. There is a rumor Sony Group Corporation will acquire Level-5 and Nihon Falcom as game studios producing anime games. They are testing the waters with CyberConnect2 on Demon Slayer for PlayStation. Ufotable and P.A. Works have close relationship with Aniplex, Funimation and Crunchyroll. It's possible they could join A1 and CloverWorks as Aniplex's family of anime studios. As Sony talks more about synergies and "One Sony" concept I think Funimation, Wakanim, AnimeLab and Crunchyroll will streamline into one company once Crunchyroll acquisition has finalized. We get suddenly two publishers for PlayStation as SIE doesn't want to bother with 1st party anime games. Aniplex inc (Japan HQ operations) Aniplex of America (Merged with Funimation/Crunchyroll) Aniplex of South America (former CR) Aniplex of Europe (former Wakanim) Aniplex of Australia (former AnimeLab) Aniplex of Asia (former CR) Aniplex of China - Aniplex Channel (Funimation, Wakanim, AnimeLab and Crunchyroll rebranded to Aniplex) - Aniplex Anime Studios - Aniplex Game Studios How they will conquer entertainment world with anime as Sony without needing Kadokawa or other parts.

Wow, I wasn't ready for that 😅 I'll try to give my opinion on each point I think JUMP doesn't have a favorite production house. Yes, Aniplex got Kimetsu and Kaguya, but Toho has MHA and Dr Stone. On the other hand, Kodansha found another production house: DMM Pictures, so they don't need Aniplex anymore. I'll be very curious to have a report to this meeting. Because the Nikkei article said the exact same argument in the video. I won't talk about games rumors, because I don't know anything in this area. But ufotable and P.A, they finance and produce a good amount of projects, while remaining independant. Except if they earn more money, I don't see them joining Sony. Breaking down Aniplex into several branches is not impossible and have some advantages: better knowledge of local markets. But that implies the end of Crunchyroll's brands. And people won't accept that: they still have an attachment to it, as the brave opponent of the "censoring" Funimation. Basically, Sony doesn't need to fight Kadokawa: they even all to win working together. - Sony want to dominate the anime market: for that, they need content to adapt - Kadokawa want to dominate the LN market: for that, they need to promote their content. That's why when Kadokawa needs an anime for one of their LN (SAO, Mahouka, Danmachi...), Aniplex is often behind it.

@@SeisakuDesk Here's the report from Sony Corp about Sony Group Corporation comes into effect on April 1 2021. Biggest reorganization since 1960 when they changed from Sony Electronics to Sony Corporation turn into a conglomerate. Biggest change in six decades. Ken Yoshida has claimed this is due to their anime plans. Sony Financials will corporate more with Sony companies and executives from the top when it comes to acquisitions. www.sony.net/SonyInfo/News/Press/202005/20-039E/

@@SeisakuDesk have you heard about the recent strengthening buisiness relationship between Sony and Kadokawa? Sony invested a small percentage in Kadokawa alongside a Chinese company whose name escapes me. Expect Kadokawa to use Sony as their one true go to for animating all its ip's.
@thewipsportstalkfan3160

I think this is likely. The Aniplex brand seems the best description for this strategy for Sony's entertainment business. Funimation is a polarizing brand while Aniplex has a mostly good reputation this is llikely to happen, Its an ironic turn of events because there was rumors about 2 years ago that Sony would get out of entertainment and merge Sony Entertainment, including Aniplex and Funimation w ViacomCBS (oddball paring, i know) now rich w Demon Slayer money among other things they buy Crunchyroll, buy stock in Kadokawa and rule the anime industry. Love it or hate it. You gotta respect their business strategy.
