CITV seems to go in a cycle every few years of high and low funding. ITV were reducing funding for CITV years but blamed the advertising ban on fast food for the reduction in funding (dispite those adverts were for happy meal toys and mostly still advertise today). Instead of continuing the programming and getting other advertisers like they did on other programming with the cigerette advertising ban they instead closed ITV kids productions and reduced funding and commissioning further
