Somehow, Southwest Airlines has managed to not only provide reliable air travel at reasonable prices, but also earn a loyal following. And, they have been profitable for nearly 50 years running, and have one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings among carriers.
So what’s their secret formula? Since the start as Air Southwest back in 1967, Southwest Airlines has intentionally made a series of decisions built around simplicity. These seemingly insignificant, yet effective choices over the years have come together which have allowed them to become a major disruptor, which many other airlines have imitated.

❤Love them! I even seen them place Engine Covers on their planes while looking out the window at the gate.

When I used to breed, sale, and ship German shepherds I always used SW because of there customer service and climate controlled Cargo areas where the dogs were placed on the plane. If you ever have to ship your pet by himself it’s the best choice don’t even bother looking anywhere else.

Love flying on Southwest

My go-to used to be Virgin America, definitely the best experience even in coach. But what I love about Southwest is you’ll rarely lose your credit if you need to cancel last minute, and then prices seem to be less volatile than other airlines. It just makes for a less stressful purchase.

Reason for Southwest airlines to be profitable : 2 Words FUEL HEDGING
@TwoBitHistory
@TwoBitHistory 4 года назад
Southwest started in the 1960s, but their fuel hedging program only started in 1994. Not to mention that while fuel hedging helped them in the 1990s thru the 2000s for example, they have had some years (2015 & 2016 for instance) where the hedging actually cost them money. So while hedging is a factor, I wouldn't say it's the only factor, and certainly wasn't a factor in the 30ish years before 1994.

Can you make a video talking about if southwest will ever fly to Europe?

Hey! As long as good ol' "So-West" can stay away from 737 'Maxes', I'd sign up and fly the friendly, non-crashing skies with them.

Hey two bit history, I’d like to say that the video was alright, it wasn’t life changing (not that I expected it to be) but it wasn’t entirely interesting. I could easily tell towards the later end of the video, you started to run out of points to talk about, but desperately wanted to pass the 10 minute mark, so you started to ramble off some “fun facts” about southwest. In your attempt to become a bigger channel, you are willing to do everything and anything for views and Patrons, made apparent by the shilling on patreon and the 10:30 minute mark. I’m not in any position to say that it is bad to set your sights on a goal of becoming popular, however I believe there will be a time where you may indeed be as popular as you wished. You will look back upon this content, and see that through your drive to garner popularity and views, the content and reward for doing so will never be enough to make you feel satisfied. I guess this long paragraph just means that you don’t need to extend the time frame to 10 minutes, and if you intend to make the videos you make popular, it shows through the content you make. Let your videos end naturally, it’ll help retain the interest of the viewer. It takes time to grow a RU-vid channel, patience to gather a suppository of videos, and even a little luck. Best regards, some random guy on the web

Thanks for all the comments. I actually had about 17 minutes of content, but cut some to try and keep videos around 10-12 minutes, not for advertising reasons, but due to better retention from viewers. And the random trivia is a hallmark of my videos. And of course “shilling” Patreon is something I mention, and it is up to you whether you want to donate or not. In the end it takes a tremendous amount of time & energy to produce free content for viewers like you, and I appreciate everyone for their comments, suggestions, and criticisms.

@@TwoBitHistory Hey, I'm chiming in late, but hope you keep plugging along. Nice of you to give 'HoltzeHunter' a pass on his last sentence - "patience to gather a 'SUPPOSITORY'[sic] of videos" (I'm sure he meant 'REPOSITORY') since this is not a medical video regarding regularity. I also disagree with most of his critique, as it sounds like someone who is trying to contort the creator's video into their own perfect work without actually doing any of the work. HoltzeHunter needs to use his energy to do his OWN videos with his OWN format. Your video was perfect and engaging, and, if anything, that subject matter could have called for 20 min of material, 10 min was a triumph of editing. I'm 'Sub-ing', and 'Liking' and Wishing Well (and will try 'Patreoning' when I can). I'll do a quick blurb in the main section about the 737 'Max' - any info about SouthWest's use of those?
