In this SPEEDRUN EXPLAINED, we go over one of the greater challenges in HITMAN (2016) speedrunning: beating the game with the Silent Assassin rating on every mission, all while never changing out of our starting suit (Suit Only). This run is done by one of the top runners for the category, Kaadzik, who demonstrates his ability and knowledge of the mechanics of the game, beating it in around ten minutes. This run was chosen to be covered by my Patrons, who hold the world record in my heart for coolest people around.

@@andy4an Marrakesh and Colorado. In the first one, killing Reza in time without blowing up his guards is not easy and the second one is just one big RNG-fiesta, where even certain guard spawns are not guaranteed, which changes the behaviour of other NPCs as well.

Recently played through the Hitman trilogy after watching Atrioc play it. Such a great game with really impressive speedruns. Some levels take the runners 40secs where it took me 1hr 30mins to get silent assassin lol.

There was a pretty big error in this video: the K/D of light fixture did not escalate to three because every kill a light fixture performed resulted in its death. The k/d of light fixtures was 1 for the entire run save for the moments where one was falling but had not yet killed someone.

Love your videos! If it's not too much trouble - I would ask (as someone who uses closed captioning) that you put informational text (e.g., @8:53) near the top of the screen rather than the bottom, as the bottom of the screen is where the captions are, and when it's text on text like that, it can be hard to read either one. I've been rewatching your videos recently, and your messages mid videos both hit me hard and lift me up. I lost my best friend last month to mental illness and it's been difficult for me to say the least as someone also living with anxiety and depression. Many mornings I tell myself I have loving family and I'm worthy of life, and I know its true in my heart but some days it's hard to process. Mental illness makes your brain lie to you and makes it hard to see the truth. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for always leaving these messages for us, to remind us that we are loved and there are better days ahead.

Just commenting to say I love your regular positive affirmations in your videos. Sometimes I watch these because I'm curious about a game, sometimes because I can't sleep and I want background voices to drown my ADHD thoughts, and sometimes because I had a bad day and want a distraction. Today was the latter, and even though in the big scheme of things I know it's not so bad for me, and I would have woken up tomorrow and gone to work and gotten over my problems, you made my night better. Not because I needed it, but because it reminded me that there are people out there who take that mental wellbeing seriously and because I hope those words had an impact on someone who needed it more than me. I have plenty to be thankful for, but it makes me happy to know people like you with a wide audience go out of their way to put that message in their content for others. My favorite podcaster Stephen Dubner ends his episodes with "take care of yourself, and if you can... someone else too" and I get the same vibe from your videos. Just keep it up, any positive messaging these days is crucial and I love that you make a regular point of it. Thank you.

Tomato I can't express and thank you enough about how much you're little talks about how things will get better have helped me. I found you when I saw you on GDQ running the entire fallout series, a couple days later I found your first speed running explained video. During that time I was working for 2.13 an hour serving and surviving off tips living out of my car, I honestly had thoughts about ending it all, but those few moments where you tell us its going to be okay made me cry and reevaluate things. I recently moved into my new apartment not to long ago with my girlfriend, a baby on the way, and going to college now at 23. I always wonder if speedrunner rather prefer to play Hitman 2016 or just play the updated version of the game in Hitman 3 as part of the trilogy. I know some glitches doesn't work anymore with the current version.

It goes both ways, some Hitman 3 (2021) glitches don't work in the 2016 version either. In fact overall, the Hitman 3 version is faster with more lenient glitches. Hitman 3 is more popular overall but there's certainly some interest in playing the 2016 version still, due to that version working differently. Also, about a year ago Epic Games released the 2016 version for free as a promotion. The two currently most active runners of Hitman (2016) both picked up the game from this free promotion IIRC.

As a hitman speedrunner, I prefer the newer installments because they have fewer glitches and more items making routing more consistent and interesting in my opinion. It is mostly up to preference because I have plenty of speedrun friends that say that Hitman 2016 is a much nicer game to speedrun.

@@Fri3ndlyFir3 I used to speedrun 2016 casually (as in ranking on custom contracts as opposed to speedrunning sites with the main missions). Haven't played 3 yet because Epic store shenanigans but I liked speedrunning 2016 much more than 2 mostly because of the breaching charge nerf in 2 and other generally weird quirks like the Kreugermeier pistol being buffed to all hell in H2 making all other silenced hanguns useless. Still love the hell out of both games, and hope to god that H3 releases on STeam in a couple months because there's really no reason it shouldn't lol

@@221Prohunter You're in luck at Hitman 3's launch IO Interactive signed a contract with epic games where Hitman 3 would be exclusive to the epic launcher for a year. That contract expires on January 20th 2022.
