Thanks for the video gf! Your skin is glowing and you're stunning! I've been on 50mg for 3 weeks and I think I'm going to slowly start increasing up to the 100mg I was prescribed. Thanks a lot!
Thank you! You’re so nice 🥰 I definitely appreciate my clear skin given all the years of struggle that I went through. I bet once you move up to 100mg and give it 2/3 months, you’ll see a major difference! Just be consistent with it 😊
Your skin looks fantastic I would never know you had acne! My Spironolactone is arriving day after tomorrow from my Derm and I CANT WAIT! Your video made me more excited 🎉🥰
Thanks for this video! I’ve been on spiro a little over a month and I’m getting so impatient to see results 😩 I know I need to wait at least 3 months it’s just taking foreverrrr
Shannen S Waiting is the worst! It took me longer to get results because I was so bad with consistently taking spiro. So just keep up with taking it consistently and I hope that your skin clears up soon. I know the struggle 😅
Me too!!!!! Girl! This sunday it will be 2 months already that i have been on spiro and Im still getting pimples. I also get VERY desperate but this takes time so be patient and positive!!! Being positive and patient habe helped me to deal better with the situation. You are not alone!!!
Thank you for this video! I was just prescribed spiro yesterday and was really nervous to be on a medication. My acne isn’t that bad right now but still weighs on my confidence- I was scared to be on it but this video calmed me down hopefully it works like it did for you! Your skin looks amazing
Thank you for your vid! I am a similar situation as you with my hormonal acne on my chin and my cheeks. It started to get really bad right before Covid quarantine... once I went to the dermatologist, they had me go on Doxyclycline for 2 months and then start Spironolactone (100 mg). The Doxy keeps the redness down, but the Spiro keeps my hormonal acne down. Hopefully, in 3 months it'll get better and better :)
your skin looks really great, I'm so happy for you :) I'm currently thinking about getting on Spiro but I'm not sure yet about the side effects and the whole long term thing, so if I would take it, I hope I can get off of it at some point and not having the acne return... anyways, hope you're still happy with your skin, have a lovely day! :)
Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes the long-term thing isn’t the best option but I think for me it took several months for it to first kick in and then for it to actually have my skin calm down. Of course I still get spots here and there especially because it’s hormonal. My skin has gotten a lot better and it’s still a lot better and now I just have spironolactone as a back up, so when my skin is starting to break out in a spot or two then I take it maybe just twice or so a month to be an extra layer of protection.
@@ilseherrera6033 I have seen improvements! I’m waiting for the dark marks to go away haven’t had a pimple since. Overall smaller pores and not so much of the rough looking texture
Hello! I'm just starting my spiro journey now and I wanted to thank you for sharing your experience. I am not a fan of being on pills as well but knowing that you take it every other day and it still works gives me peace of mind. I am really nervous but I hope it goes well. I don't want to go on Accutane because of all the horrible side effects I heard about and this seems like the safer option. Just curious but did you have any irregular periods? Btw You're great :)!
@@ShamaKhan-rq4vc Hii! It unfortunately didn't work for me :( It did help a bit but still had cysts every couple of weeks. I would only get a couple days of clear skin. Also, my period became irregular. My derm recommended me to bite the bullet with Epuris (another form of Accutane) and so far I am 5 months in and with 1-2 months left to go. So far so good right now with Epuris! :)
@@HawtKatx3 wow great ❣️ i am finished my course accutane 6 month 3 yr ago roaccutane... But 2/3 mnth now my skin slowly acne come back.... I am disappointed 😢 I am from Bangladesh
Hi! So I started Spiro on Jan 21 and it is Feb 17 and my skin doesn't look better, actually worse I think. I only started getting acne in November and first I thought it was maskne but then I talked to my derm and she said it looks hormonal. I also got prescribed a topical tretonoin to use alongside. I am assuming my skin acting up is the purge from the topical ointment! Fingers crossed, hoping to see results at the 3 months mark
P S hi! Yes, I was going to say that it sounds like your skin is purging. It sucks but I’d say stick with it and if it doesn’t improve around 3 months then talk to your dermatologist!
I started on 100mg and the first week I purged a lot and now I’m experiencing headaches. I think it’s the side effect and debating stopping the medication :(
Do you monitor how much potassium you eat? I just started and I don't have high potassium but I'm worried I go over the limit cos I love salty foods, bananas, sweet potatoes, spinach etc 😫
I actually haven’t been monitoring my potassium. My dermatologist didn’t mention anything about diet. I eat those foods all the time and it wasn’t a problem. I just try to eat healthy but I know everyone is different!
Hi I am about to start Spiro. I am worried about the libido lowering side effects of Spiro. Did you notice a dip in your libido after you started taking Spiro?
are you still taking spironolactone? or did you stop taking it? In case you stopped, could I know if you have had acne breakouts again? I've heard that most girls who take spironolactone get acne again when they stop taking the pills. That is why I am afraid to start treatment, because it doesn't make sense to take so many pills and then have acne again :(
It is something that technically has to just always be taken but I noticed my skin was doing so much better that I started taking it less and less to the point where I basically stopped. And I have course still get spots here and there but honestly it’s so much better now. If anything I get a few days of bad acne right before my period, not every month, but some months. Everyone is different but for me I really do think that when stopping the pills my skin did stay really good. Better than anything else I’ve done.
@@KatherineMichelleYT How many months have you been without taking it? Maybe it depends a lot on the person, I've read about girls who have taken the pill for 3 years, and since they felt that they had great skin they decided to stop taking it and after months all the acne returned :( I am so afraid of being one of those girls ... But I am very glad that everything went great for you, and thank you very much for answering me💗
@@asmmms I’m trying to remember but it’s a blur haha. I stopped regularly taking it I believe in early 2020. It was before COVID hit because I remember everyone complaining about mask acne and I never had it. I do still take it here and there like a spot treatment when I see some spots come up.
Aymara Treviño Sanchez a lot of times it takes around 3 months to see results but if it’s really bothering you, you can always ask your dermatologist. I have 100mg and that works for me. Plus I believe that is still considered to be a low dose.
Aymara Treviño Sanchez if you’re already taking 75 mg I don’t think that increasing it to 100 mg will cause any new side effects. Taking medicine is always a bit scary, however, my dermatologist said that 100 mg is still considered a low dose and this medication isn’t as intense as many others. Accutane is definitely a scarier one. Either way, I’d tell your concerns to your dermatologist. I hope it works out for you :)
Hii...this tablet not only cure hormanal acne ...doctor said unwanted hair growth cured..what s your opinion..because i have pcod prblm...so doctor prescribed this tablet but unwanted hair growth how to cure this tablet ..i am so confuse ..tell your opinion unwanted hair growth get cured...plz reply
I'm starting this morning on 25mg... I'm already trying to loose the 40 lb covid weight, will this make me gain more? Google reviews last night scared me so much 🙄
The idea of taking the medication once or twice after a course comes from you or a doctors ,and if it’s came from you did the doctor minds? cause iam like you I don’t wanna take a life long daily spironolactone 🥲 pls answer 😔😔😔
It came from my doctor! I don’t remember to take it everyday but I try to and it’s kept my skin clear! Once it becomes a habit like brushing your teeth it’s not bad.
