I am trying to learn from the best, and looking at star citizen ships, I think these are some of the best with both internal and external 3D models. We will export these models from Star Citizen and import them into Blender, and do a breakdown of how they do it.

My god its such an experience to just see and have the work the pros did to be able to reverse engineer them. Theres so much clever Normal map usage all over.

Oh, there absolutely is. They totally could have made the elevator go to the ground fully like the Hercules does, but decided to make it entirely useless instead.

When/How do you have time to play Star Citizen? Between you rtime modeling, making youtube videos, exploring the Star Citizen files, etc, I didn't think you'd have any time to play. I haven't played SC for a year now. I used to spend an hour just getting prepped to go out, only to crash and destroy my ship with a bad landing (or have my ship blown away in a wind storm because I apparently didn't powerr it down correctly) within the first 15 minutes of real "game play", lol. 😭

under no circumstances go and take a look with your ship or in eva mode around space stations, scary things going on. kitbashed dream haunting visions. even the details are detailed, fractal detalization, This explain why the game requires 256 GB ram to play.

You have no clue what you are talking about lol. You can play SC perfectly fine on a GTX 980ti from 2015. Your CPU is 100% bottlenecking you, not these meshes and decals.

This video demonstrates why it runs so well, actually. It's showing that a tonne of the apparent detail is actually just decal textures. That's a good thing for performance!
