I just found your channel, my daughter is 18 months old, and maybe says about 11 words. She's my first, and I feel lost on how to help her improve. I found your channel last night, and it's awesome. I bet you're a great mom 👌🏼 thank you for your videos, it's great to get helpful ideas when you're a single parent. How many of these activities a day should I do? (Or how much time should I spend?) I have a hard time fitting in quality time as I have to also work, cook, clean etc. Maybe this is why she seems a little delayed?
@LearnWithAdrienne
@LearnWithAdrienne 7 лет назад
Hey there! I am so glad that this has been helpful for you! It sounds like you are doing a great job already! I recommend using the time you are already spending with your daughter (bath time, car time, meal time, etc) to use these strategies. You can layer them into things that you are already doing. If you are looking for more guidance and help in this area, I recently opened my online class for parents of toddlers that teaches you how to use bath time (time that you are already spending one-on-one) to help her develop language in a step-by-step way. Here is where you can find it to learn about it and see if it is a good fit for what you are looking for: learnwithadrienne.mykajabi.com/p/smallwinsbathtime Hope this inspires you! :) With joy, Adrienne

I'm so glad I found your videos. I've been stuck trying to figure out how to interact with my son. When I try to play with him with his toys he isn't very interested. Oh yes I remember when I told my nephew it's stuck and he said stuck? He wanted to move the giant radio from one place to another. He is now 3.5 but he already forgot and gets a few words in but doesn't speak fluently. I remember he was telling people up up when he meant down. And the meanies told him I am up. I had to teach him the word down. I was actually standing up and going down to the floor. So now he knows the difference. I can't believe all the other adults were just basically making fun. What's their problem?!

I loooove these videos!! I'm really into straws right now with my nephews (twins, 2 1/2!) We have done some of the Threading activities that you mentioned and the kids really enjoyed it, even their six-year-old cousin joined in period I am very intrested to try the glowing activities because I just know the kids will love it and honestly they need a little practus with it so that we'll be able to blow bubbles come summertime I was also thinking of doing blowing exercises with either colored water or maybe thinned down paint or with little sailboats in the bath tub. I'm the Auntie so I do all the messy activities lol

This was super useful but at the same time it makes me sad to encourage the purchase of plastic. We have to wake up, our children will grow up in a world where environmental challenges are immense. Doing our part and not buying disposable items is the minimum we can do for them. In case you think the reusing these items solves the problem, unfortunately, it is not the case. Research the problems associated with recycling plastic, with plastic microparticles in the environment and with the decomposing time of plastic (much much longer than your own life!) I would love to see a video that explains how to encourage language in toddlers all the while being environmentally responsible. Thanks:)
@LearnWithAdrienne
@LearnWithAdrienne 3 года назад
Yes, I agree. This video was posted 5 years ago, before I knew much about the issues with plastic. However, your comment makes me wonder if you have had a chance to watch any of my other videos? My videos are mainly about how to use one single object to encourage language in toddlers. I am constantly talking about how we don't need a ton of toys to encourage language development. So, I am promoting using items we already have in our homes (ex. washcloths, kitchen tongs, a hat, pajamas, a spray bottle, or simply going on a walk outside to encourage language development). You asked to see "a video that explains how to encourage language in toddlers all the while being environmentally responsible." While I will not be making a video specific to that exact topic, it sounds like a topic that you could make a video about, since you seem very passionate about the topic. Go for it girl! Anyone can make and post videos here on RU-vid about their passions...all are welcome! Cheers! :)
