Now our life, our lifestyle, our society and our pop culture are on a continuous flow. Moreover, soon our brain will simply forget how not to perceive information, except in streaming format. Content must be delivered quickly, regularly and in unlimited quantities. This is the essence of streaming. And as you might guess, streaming is not only Netflix or Spotify, it is TikTok with its endless feed and Instagram, and even the same RU-vid presents itself as a streaming service with its system of algorithms and recommendations. The philosophy of streaming content consumption has impacted literally every industry of pop culture. But most of all, streaming has influenced music because it has influenced not only what kind of music is being released now, but also how we perceive it and how we receive it. And in order to understand how streaming services changed the music industry, you need to go back about 35 years to the late 80s, early 90s, because it is there, in those troubled and bearded years, that the answer to our question lies. Valera Molodoy is with you and this is my story about how streaming services changed everything. Happy viewing!
