I like how every hero and villain has a gimick or specific trait they're known for, and then there's Doom who has every possible category of magic, technology, skill, and strength maxed out.
@@pokemonwilliams2176 tbf he said godhood was beneath him when he became mortal again. And given how often he made a fool of some gods afterwards he can back that claim.
Doom once became a God after absorbing the Beyonder's power. He found Godhood to be beneath him. What a badass. Easily the best Marvel villain if not character in general.
He didn't "find godhood to be beneath him" lmao Doom jockers are wild. He got The Beyonders powers because he was allowed to, The Beyonder subconsciously gave them up. He literally wanted to be relieved of his powers so he can experience existence closer to an average individual. The entire Secret Wars run is full of moments where Beyonder foregoes his powers for a more normal existence. The moment he wanted them back he took them from Doom. And Doom taking the modern Beyonders powers also isn't all it's cracked up to be, because it was really Molecule Man that did this and simply gave the powers to Doom bc he didn't want them lol my guy was gifted the powers, he didn't take shit. Always a good day when you can canon-check Doom jockers lol
@@KevinJohnson-cv2no Yeah, I remember hearing how powerful dr doom was in secret wars so I read them and he doesn't do shit. He hangs around for a couple hours and gets the powers.
@@KevinJohnson-cv2no This video literally includes the panel of Dr. Doom saying he found Godhood beneath him, at 12:49. Like, say what you want about the surrounding factors, but we can say with confidence that he has, in fact, said that he found godhood beneath him.
The main issue is the Joker has a lot of good appearances in live action media, but no one has been able to do doctor doom Justice even remotely in films. He has some good cartoon and game appearances, but Joker is still more frequently around at this point.
@@GreaterGrievobeast55 Doom is a extremely complicated character that has equally complicated dialogs which only a few writers can pull of. He would a very talented screen writer who truly appreciate the "source material" and treat it with respect it deserves.
You forgot one feat. When Gwenpool tried to beat doom by sending him outside of the comic, he not only came back but learned how to go in and out of the comic itself. Edit: forgot to mention that the version Gwenpool fought was a past version of him that the present version essay defeated after also learning how to go in and out the comic.
Dr. Doom is the ULTIMATE villain hands down…he’s the literal representation of “mind over matter” (almost over anything). Yet despite him being a baseline human, he’s consistently pulled off incomprehensible feats, battled and defeated abstract/archetypal level beings. IMO he surpasses ANY human (damn near ANY villain) villain in all of comics hands down.
@@LarryBonson he is, he's killed innocent people just for irritating him, and also for power [his Valeria, whose skin he wore]. Just because he does occasional good things out of self interest doesn't make him a hero. At best, he's an antivillain. But if you think he's never done honestly nefarious things, then you must have only started reading comics a decade or so ago.
@@JDWalker495 and then the doctor from doctor who will have to keep doom in his place. Edit: this vid was in people also watched when I was searching for some rick vs the doctor vids.
@@kingkoltron857 Doom steals the power of cosmic beings all the time. I can think of 15 times he's done it over the decades. It's pretty routine for him to do at this point. Hell, he can just steal thanos' power and use it against him, if he were so inclined.
I agree but if they try to just squeeze his whole story into 1 movie it won't be done right. At the moment Disney isn't capable of making anything above "meh" levels so I wouldn't hold any hope.
Yeah his showing on the big screen thus far have been......less then stellar fingers crossed disney can give the fans what they want a villian more famous then Darth Vader
If doctor doom was a women, sure, Disney would be all over that, because doom is op. Imo Doom actually has a good story he deserves his own spin off, he's not even a true villain.
My favorite thing about Doom is that he's kind of technically not a villain. He once visited the Panther God in Wakanda, who can see all possible futures, and basically the only universe that would survive, is the one where Doom reigns supreme. Where Doom rules the world. So he's actually motivated by trying to SAVE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING. But, of course, nobody would believe a guy named Doom actually wants to rule them, as a benevolent dictator, to save them all. But apparently, if you actually analyze his rule of Latveria, it's arguably a better place to live than... most places. Not just in Marvel comics, but like, most places, period. There's I think, zero crime, no poverty, pretty sure everyone is allowed to leave Latveria if they want to (as in, for vacations or renounce their citizenship and emigrate to anywhere else, but why would they?), etc. Like seriously, pick a metric, and it probably beats virtually everywhere. Not entirely sure how well educated the average citizen is, though. But I would not be shocked if it's at least better than the American average.
That is my quick explanation of his capabilities when I bring him up. Now that mainstream people know about Celestials I can add that in there as well.
throught the use of which, he can easily acquire the raw powere that he formerly lacked. He's stolen the power of cosmic entities no less than 15 times, and that's just all the Fantastic Four stories i've read over the last 30 years, there may have been more stories where he's done that.
Doom deserves his own "Joker" style movie to introduce him into the MCU.. A much darker grittier origin story, culminating in him curbstomping the entire roster of heroes and establishing himself as the new Thanos level threat or potential ally to fight Galactus would save the sinking ship that is the MCU.
FUCKING LETS GO! One line from Doom sums this all up Doom: I was once a God [reference to Secret Wars 2015], Valeria Valeria: And what was it like? Doom: And I found it.... beneath me.
I remember once I was looking at Doom’s wiki bc I actually didn’t know what his powers were. There I found his most terrifying power, diplomatic immunity.
Mefisto: "Noooo you can't just track me down in hell!! This is my world!" Doom: "Fool! I did not come to learn the laws of this realm. I have come to run them rounds!"
His only weakness is the plot if given plot power and infinite plot armor like batman then he will surely solo you favourite verse negative difficulty.
The only verse that can maybe beat him is the xelly verse if you know what they can will the base weapons they have have the same energy as the big bang and this is base assault rifle
He is literally the most powerful person in the entire multiverse. Or at least he has the potential to be. He has to take other energy to get to that level, but he’s capable of doing it. He absorbed the powers of the entire race of beyonders, each one as strong or stronger than the original beyonder from secret wars. That level of power is just orders of magnitude higher than the infinite powers of other high level characters. No one has done anything remotely close to that in all of marvel history.
"Doom is no man's second choice" "Doom does not Beg" Quote/Scene 3: Security No.1: If you'll come this way, sir, we can get you to the-- Doctor Doom: This is most inconvenient. I had requested a private gate where I could meet with the delegation from Geneva on our way to the conference-- Security No.1: All I know is what I was told, some kind of problem with the gate. Doom: Typical shoddy American workmanship. Such incompentence would not be permitted in the Latveria of --DOCTOR DOOM. Security No.2 (aka Captain America): How do you do that? Doom: Do what? Security No.2: Speak in all capitals like that? Doom: Silence, minion. Quote 4: "Is it true what I've heard, Benjamin? That when Johnny Storm died -- valiantly facing an endless army... Is it true that you -- surrounded by crying children -- weeping at the inevitable death of your close comrade and friend... Is it true? Is it true that you just...watched? How very brave." Quote 5: "Of all the places, in all the worlds, you chose to accost Doom in his own home? FOOLS! Even the worst of men know better, GODS know better, who is behind such folly?" Quote 6: "My methods are a means to an end, no different than pruning weeds in order to let an orchid flourish. Those who stand in the way of my vision oppose me because they fear me, but more than that they fear what I represent. Change. Do you know what I despise Richards? And T'Challa? Because never one have they reined in their own self-righteous arrogance long enough to try and see what I see. Never once have they asked me: why? Do you want to know?Love. Measure my crimes against what mankind does to itself, and I am a saint. ... I have looked into the future, I have seen how one violent action after another spins the world toward a future where all that remains of Earth is a burned out cinder. Every time I have looked into the future, that is what I have seen. Every time but one. In one possible future mankind becomes united. Cures for all diseases are found. Global conflict ends. Hunger is abolished. Education is universal. And no one goes without. In that world, there are laws. To break even the slightest of these is to suffer immediate and terminal punishment. ... Ten thousand futures have I looked at. A hundred thousand. And in only one does mankind finally unite, and flourish...and survive. Only one. Doomworld." Quote 7: "My greatest Flaw. I surround myself with idiots"
What make Doom so omniversal dangerous is his willpower and determination... Many characters gain nigh omnipotence, but most of them don't have the will nor the determination to go through with it. They either give it up or outright lose control of it. Doom is so dangerous because his focus and determination is like an unstoppable force. He does not stop and he is so utterly relentless in his pursuit that he once utterly wiped out the entire alternate universe using the Ultimate Nullifer. A feat that is practically impossible for any mortal beings. He just press a button and monologs to himself, and then boom, the entire universe is dead.
Doom is the definition of a self made man and that is why he is the most respectable villain in comics. I still wish for a great live action portrayal of him.
It's hard nowadays to wish Marvel make a respectful interpretation of Dr.Doom in the MCU. Deep inside I really want him to be as Iconic as Darth Vader as The Villain of Marvel.
@@hakobo2744 I mean, It would be cool if they don't just kill him in the first movie he appears. He's a ruler of a nation, no matter how much of an asshole a dictator is, another nation just can't send a sniper to kill him right away because of the repercussions.
So he’s got technology on par with or even above Iron Man and magic that rivals big names like Dr Strange and Scarlet Witch and to top it all off has the physical strength to duke it out with a robot Hulk with the power cosmic and the real Hulk.
Dr Doom is like the living embodiment of the sigma grindset, because everything he achieved, he did it himself and yet he's only a human which speaks volumes
"What is a god to a doom" Here we have a guy with mystical abilities nearly on par with doctor strange, intelligence almost on par with Reed richards(smartest man in the marvel universe by the way) and a suit of armour stronger that Tony starks and you create a terrifying villian
Dr doom is by far the greatest super villain in comic book history. Im so pissed they did him dirty in the Fantastic 4 movies, hopefully he gets his own show one day
I see so many of the similarities in him that I see in Batman. Both are Super Genius Polymath scientists that can also use high levels of magic. That’s probably why I love the both of them, hopefully we will get a crossover for these two in the future THAT WOULD BE AWESOME.
Considering how crazy comic book scaling can get, it’s only fitting that Doctor Victor Von Doom managed to get so strong along with his immense intellect! Plus, it’s a Chuck video so I’m gonna watch it in full!
This is an amazing video! Love seeing your comic content on the channel Chuck. Will you ever think of doing more less known characters like Blue Marvel or feats of the abstracts
I really hope Cillian Murphy plays Doctor Doom in the MCU. I'm also predicting that he'll share the screen with Toby Kebbell, Jullian Mccahon and Jospeh Culp in The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
My favorite was Doom defeating a beyonder the first time. He was a child beyond their butt he was still massively powerful. I like that time when do they take him power more than I did the later time when he took the power multiple beyonders and had it filtered through molecule man
Awesome video as always Chuck. Dr. Doom's intelligence is OP. The only person who matches or surpasses Doom is Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards. Hey, Chuck any future videos on Mr. Fantastic and or the Maker (Evil Reed)?
One thing that makes doom so cool is that he has the power literally bend everyone’s knee to his will and yet refuses to because he’d rather take the time make everyone understand him rather than force them to submit.
Henry cavil would be an amazing actor to play Doctor doom in the MCU. Bring in the guy from borat and the dictator to play Mephisto, bill skarsgard as sentry , and Jensen ackles as Hyperion . How amazing would it be to see Henry cavil as Doom beating the crap out of Mephisto to get his mother’s soul free from hell.
In my eyes their are 3 people in fiction who personify the villain And all are very different with different ways they do villainy There is the joker darth Vader And Dr doom Dr doom and Vader are somewhat similar Actually they are very similar but still They I'm my eyes are all the number 1 villains And Dr doom altho is a villain He is more of a rival to reed richards and doesn't want to cause unnecessary harm for no reason Good to see the achievements as I know he busted
If the country he governs existed, I would immediately go to live there , If I remember correctly, the goddess of Wakanda, said that among all possible futures only Doom could bring true peace to the world.
Hey Chuck. How is your day going? This is probably going to sound very tedious but can you make a video on Ganon from Legend of Zelda? I love your content and I know your experience so I wanted to know how strong this dude is from you. If you don’t want too that’s cool, just wanted to put an idea out there.
Awesome video. How did the Power Cosmic make Iron Man strong enough to face Oblivion though? I don't think Galactus could stand up to Oblivion since Chaos King wiped out all the Galactus in the multiverse.
