The Hero of time link was one of the best characters in the whole history of the Legend of Zelda universe. Something about his character just grew on me and made me more attached to him and feeling his pain then any other Link in the series. He had one of the saddest storylines ever. Basically grew up an orphan, wakes up one day by a fairy to sacrifice his whole childhood, leaving all his friends behind just to become a hero and save hyrule. Basically saving so many lives, losing his friends and then sent back in time to his childhood to just be completely forgotten by people on all the good things he did just to die later on to never be remembered as the hero he was.
Really solid video, nicely handled lore aspects and fantastic editing. It felt like one of the peak "how strong is X" videos I craved from 2017 and onwards. Kudos to you, this is fantastic.
17:29 This is amazing, Link has hardly ever got the credit he deserves in adaptive combat, even though it’s his most powerful underrated trait. Even the Hero of Trains/Spirits from Spirit Tracks has this ability.
9:02 ganondorf being a threat like hyrule never scene just means in recent times, vaati and demise were hundreds to thousands of years ago, and demise is a threat before hyrule is even is even founded as skyward sword is the first in the timeline, so he dosent even count
Good stuff mate. Link is extremely underrated and pretty high in the Nintendo ranks. Link would stomp a lot of other swordsman in ficton and most don't make it far at all.
I don't know about strongest, when you have Vader in a similar higher-dimensional tier, would be one of the most intense fights one could see though. Especially with you having covered Legend's Vader. A rather unorthodox and yet hype match.
Ocarina of Time 3ds should have had multiple endings that lead into different timelines from different games one is the normal which leads into the child timeline. The bad ending if your defeated and killed by Ganon leads into the Fallen hero timeline
im curious if youre a fan of the final fantasy games because i would love to see an analysis on someone like cloud zack or sephiroth this was a great and well researched video as always
With Fierce Deity, yeah the hero of time, but without it, gotta go to The hero of legends. He can literally cause Earthquakes, freeze enemies around him, kill everyone around him instantly in a flurry of explosions, and become invulnerable to damage due to a magical cape. Did I forget to mention he had the Master sword at its full potential? The only one who can beat him is the Fierce Deity, and the Fierce Deity alone!
I find it funny when people say the link from Hyrule warriors is the strongest considering Young Link, the hero of time, is literally playable in that game lol. Also he’s pretty much the most op character in the game too.
Breath of the Wild's link is just a really REALLY buff dude. He has lightning quick reflexes from flurry rush and quicktime shooting. Can parry a charging lynel with his single arm and can hold on to rocks that are launched thousands of feet into the air. Who needs magic when you're basically all-might from my hero academia?
While I agree with your reasoning that ALTTP Link doesn’t scale to complete Triforce, there IS a statement that says that Aghanim (and thus Ganon) was “bolstered by the power of the Triforce” along with other statements of “wielding the power of gold” or Sahasrala stating that his power is being augmented by something. So I do actually believe that Ganon was being empowered by the Triforce, but you are still probably right that Link doesn’t actually scale. Edit: I changed my mind. ALTTP Link absolutely scales because of his superior sword and armor upgrades. The Master Sword literally cannot damage Ganon unless it’s golden. And the Silver Arrows only defeat him after Link already wears him down with the Golden Master Sword, meaning it’s capable of directly contesting full power Triforce Ganon.
Most of his sources are from things with not as much credibility. He gives more sources to Ocarina of Time and uses altered English / NEWER sources rather than the original intent. It's very odd and shows his lacking credibility.
@@urielndiaz I’m also suspect of the English translations of some of his sources as well. I’d be willing to bet his source of the Triforce weakening over time is actually about the sage’s connection to it weakening in Japanese, which is more consistent with what’s stated in game.
@@CoffeeTaku I checked more of his content and he does this a lot. He's very biased and conceited. Especially just look at the comments and most I replied to. He has this like "my opinion is the correct" approach.
The only argument I can think of for the Hero of Time not being the strongest in compassion to the Link in A Link to the Past and they other games in that timeline is that the Hero of Time canonically lost to Ganon in that timeline. Of course, given the evidence, it is still likely that it was a close fight meaning that he would still likely scale above the other Links.
The nature of the Downfall Timeline perplexes Zelda theorists. The Historia says it’s one of countless possibilities, which would also range from Ganon losing in a low tier way or literally any other outcome. It’s a very arbitrary justification for a timeline which IMO isn’t a good way to down play the HoT, as among the other “countless” possibilities are infinite victories for him.
Makes sense. It was just the thought popped into my head when you were going over Link to the Past: "wait, isn't this the this timeline where the Hero lost? I wonder if that would affect the scaling". That go me thinking and as mentioned in my original comment, it was likely still a close fight given the other two timelines we have, the fight between the Hero of Time and Ganon stated to be fierce, and the Zelda wiki when describing the Downfall timeline stating the hero fell "despite his best efforts" (don't know if there is an actual source that said that or if it was just the wiki). This would mean that even in the Downfall timeline, the Hero of Time would still be relative to Ocarina of Time Ganon and thus your reasons for scaling him above the other Links should still hold. And as you said, infinite ways the Hero loses and infinite ways he wins. Cancels each other out so go off the game itself where the Hero wins in a specific way and assume the one of three timelines created where he lost is at least close to the events of the two timelines where he won.
@@kieranprior3873 you also have to consider that there are an infinite number of possibilities that occurred where other links fell to ganon with timelines following those outcomes, they just happened to use the hero of time losing to ganon the outcome to make another timeline out of. In reality, the hero of time falling to ganon isn’t any more canon than another link falling to ganon.
@@CRISIS_COMICS Kinda dumb to say you dont agree with Hyrule Historia and then use sources from the same people AND ESPECIALLY ENGLISH. English translations are not accurate. Just do the same shit you did with Ocarina of Time for ALTTP. But instead put a little more effort. Find the original guides from JAPAN. and don't use hyrule historia. problem solved lmao.
There's no question about it. The Hero of Time is the G.O.A.T. of all Links. It still sucks that he had such a ridiculously unfortunate storyline, even though as great as that Link is...
@@magicmanscott40k there's Mario Sonic Crash Kirby fox Samas link Zelda Arceus Megaman Spyro Rachit and Clank Rayman Fnaf world and even Earthbound They're all beyond Universal
Oh my god, this is by far, the most accurate "how strong is link" video ive ever seen. There's barely any problems with it too. Just a few critiques, oot ganon being stronger than demise by that statement is not correct and has been retconned since skyward swords release since all of ganondorfs power comes from demise to begin with. This is supported by the LoZ encyclopedia stated that all evil comes from him and ganondorf is no exception to this, also calamity ganon is ganon giving up his power of reincarnation to use his full power i.e, the power of demise. And on top of this it took the full triforce to take out a weakened demise Permanently, that alone is enough to put demise above ganondorf. Also demise did not create that pocket dimension, but he does have full control over it. That realm is actually the demon world as stated in the japanese version. And also in the japanese version of the LoZ encyclopedia instead of hyperspace its stated to be a superverse, which is an infinite dimensional hierarchy, feel free to use that as a highball if you want. And finally the din, farore and nayru spells are not as strong as youre led to believe. Its not like the goddesses themselves are uses theyre full power in the attack, they use a miniscule amount of the goddesses power. Its borderline insignificant. But thats the main wrong things for me anyways, so i can not accept oot link being the strongest link, its definitely skyward sword or breath of the wild. As for missed stuffed, in wind waker and iirc minish cap, there is an infinite-inaccessible speed feat that they were walking through a domain that had no time which link entered no problem, both times without the aid of the time stop cancelling master sword, which vaati scales too and by extension ganondorf, and by extension everyone else who remotely scales to ganondorf. Also the demise conquering time statement is a blatant immeasurable speed feat. You dont need to go back and forward in time with sheer speed to have immeasurable speed. Attacking someone or something who/that is omnipresent throughout time or is time in a verse that runs on multiverse theory, is definitely immeasurable speed. Mad respect to universal - 5-D LoZ tho thank you for not saying street, country, continental, moon or planet level for link as all of those are lowballs for every link
@@neo51977 I got him above Sora as he's uni to low multiversal but Link can scale that and higher plus he has Immeasurable speeds which I'm pretty sure Sora doesn't have. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's stated in verse light speed could potentially kill Sora but I could be wrong. Pit well, he's like star-multi solar system which Link casually outscales. Link also speed blitzes hard. Cloud is Solar system to multi Galaxy level via the supernova feat that destroyed the area Sephiroth was in meanwhile Link slayed Majora who can alter and destroy Termina which is an entire universe. Last I checked, shulk was uni plus to maybe multi plus but I'll have to look into him more. Not sure how good his speeds are either.
Mario is an absolute nightmare to power scale. His power levels jumps all over the place from building level to multiversal to everything in between and possibly beyond. Nothing makes sense with that plumber. Sonic’s easier to pinpoint since lore is a heavier focus of his series.
@@callinater6133marios actually pretty consistent once you understand the lore and his Cosmology Normal humans And random objects in mario are High Universal Because when mario characters dream They create universes Paint Makes things sentintint so meaning any object can dream Meaning any object is High universal in Mario 😂 That's why his scaling seems inconsistent but it's pretty consistent
One thing about Hero Of Legend. He had to upgrade The Master Sword Twice. You forgot that part being left out. He had to go to The Dark World to get a toad take it to The Light World and leave his Master Sword to Temper it. Meaning making it more powerful than the one Hero Of Time wield. Not only that he had it upgraded again by a big fairy within The Pyramid in The Dark World that’s considered Golden. Again way more powerful than The Master Sword that The Hero Of Time wield. By your logic that Master Sword should be quadruple or more powerful than the original state of The Master Sword. Also yeah Link didn’t have Naryu Love but Naryu Love wasn’t permanent either. It lasted a certain amount of time based on Magic. Same goes with Link Magic Cape and Cane Of Byrna but it last as long has he has magic till the meter runs out. A bit longer time limit on how long those items can be used for. Also you forgot another thing. Link has The Master Sword True Powers Abilities. Firing beams of an attack at full health and 3 Medallions. Bombos Ether and Quake. You need The Master Sword to activate those Medallions cause if you leave The Master Sword behind to get it temper you won’t use the Magical Medallions at all. Being able to control polar winds with lightning that literally cleared a thunderstorm in Misery Mire Dark World Dungeon with Ether is a very impressive feat. Not only that Quake Medallion unlocked the Turtle Rock Dungeon in Dark World. Plus yeah Ganon didn’t have Triforce Of Power. I do give you that but he is the most experienced Ganon there was caused he did killed The Hero Of Time in the Downfall Timeline with tons of Experience. So yeah Hero Of Legend had a hard time beating a well experienced Ganon overall. Who has MFTL feats since he’s the same Ganon that beat Hero Of Time. I figured you know his combat speeds teleporting etc. comes from the previous game. Then he can become intangible with no lights. You need light to actually gives him a moment vulnerability to hit with the silver arrow as well. Him tanking many hits from a Golden Master Sword before that is impressive itself. Not only that wasn’t Argharim was his Alter Ego pulling the strings from The Dark World? Like after you beat him the second time in Ganon Castle. He shrinks like he was wearing clothes and fly as a bat to The Pyramid and it was Ganon inside him the entire time based on the context of the game shown. Hero Of Legend has Blue Mail and Red Mail to reduce damage on his end as well. Not only that the other 3 games he has more gear overall. If you want to composite him with every gear he had overall in the past 4 games. He would be the most OP Link ever just gear alone and a Golden Master Sword to top it off. I just think you downplayed The Hero Of Legend a bit. That’s all. Good video overall. Hero Of Time is definitely a beast no doubt. But Hero Of Legend is definitely a beast as well.
He leaves it out because he's biased. Don't trust people like him and stop powerscaling. It's a very bad thing to be interested in especially when it turns you into him where he says Zelda characters are universal. Bro has problems lmao.
Crisis, can you please do a video just like the one you had done about the version of Link from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, but about Son Goku from Dragon Ball, Cassie Cage from Mortal Kombat, Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers, Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, or Mewtwo from Pokémon, Atem, Yami Yugi, Yugi Moto, Zorc Necrophades, Dartz, or Yami Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Agumon or Agunimon from Digimon, or the Helltaker from Helltaker?
Honestly, I would love to see you do this type Zelda video with the less immediately powerful characters like the Champions from Breath of the Wild/Age of Calamity and you focusing on the Hero of the Wild this time, especially since the recent Tears of the Kingdom game has given him a giant power up in the Zelda hierarchy thanks toe a certain detail we see near the beginning of the game's story and a later accomplishment.
Little late but I feel like you should have touched up on Link between worlds Link, who beat Yuga Ganon who had two Triforce pieces within him and still lost to Link and see how he stacks to Ocarina of Time Link
Ganon doesnt have to react at lightspeed to dodge links arrows, link does not draw the bow at light speed and Ganon can react to that and predict where the shot will be by links aiming.
He actually does draw the bow faster and even if we take what you said as true (which it isn't) Ganon would still have to actually react to the attack to actually deflect it. But it doesn't matter anyways because Link has so many higher reaction and combat speed scaling anyways.
@@redking8243 Gannon and Link are Relative at Base level. Point is, when Link draws the bow Gannon can react to his movement of drawing the bow and pre dodge if not react to it directly. If you point a gun at someone the bullet will fly straight, if i can react to the drawing of said gun i can just move away from where its pointed without having to react to the shot itself. Obviously thats farfetched for a regular person. But im sure Ganon is fast enough to perceive link drawing the bow if not fast enough to dodge the moving arrow even after its shot. Ganon is a genius so its obvious to me that he could track the trajectory and react to the drawing of the bow to dodge..
@@WakeUpUniverse66 All based off the assumption that predicting an attack means it is slower and/or that it somehow means you don't need to have relative speeds to still dodge well, pure light. Your gun analogy fails when you realize that The gun doesn't require much movement to be fired. You have to pretty much react to the gunshot before it hits you. And you would have to prove Ganon was predicting Link firing his bow. As shown in wind waker, Ganon can dodge and even block light arrows which, basically kinda breaks apart your argument.
Can you do more Star Wars videos? I love your videos keep up the good work. This is really just amazing how much time and effort you put in the video. I will be looking forward to seeing your next videos. You are Amazing
I can't recall. Which continuity do the Oracle games fall under? Because these games frame the two Oracles as the keepers of the forces of the natures represented: Time and Seasons and Link has to gain the powers of Din and Nayru after they were abducted by Onox and Veran respectively. If you defeat one of the games and connect it to the other, it is discovered that Twinrova was attempting to sacrifice the Oracles along with Zelda in order to restore Ganon. However, because Link rescues Zelda before the ceremony can commence, they sacrifice themselves in order to bring forth Ganon. However, Ganon is completely insane. He is as powerful as ever, but he's literally a mindless, rampaging beast due to the hurried, incomplete sacrifice. So, because of all that Link had to do to vanquish Ganon in this timeline, how powerful do you see him being?
I still considered Twilight Princess Link as the strongest Link, slightly above the Hero of Time Link due being the blood sucesor to the Hero of Time and being even trained and handed the torch by the Hero of Time, theres also the fact that Ganondorf was stronger than his OOT incarnation as stated in there that he gets "Stronger" over time and years have passed after the events of OOT/MM into TP time and Ganondorf also have the Triforce of Power as well + was also more prepared in TP than in OOT, and TP Link defeated him 3 times (1. Monster Ganon, 2. Horse Battle, 3. One on One Sword Battle). Twilight Princess Link's Arsenal is also very comparable to the Hero of Time's arsenal, but TP Link have something that the Hero of Time has not.......the Magic Armor.
@@TheRealVyke Ah yes, a non standard source. And funny enough, even if we take the multi plus meta that game gives, we can scale canon Link there if need be or even higher. Hyrule warriors not even being mentioned btw.
I'm gonna have to argue here, I will admit he's definitely top 3 material, but I believe the newest link is actually the new number 1 strongest link. My reasoning is twofold, starting with the fact he starts with better stats than most links at the start of their journey, like being actually trained as a knight, having fought back thousands of minions before Ganon was even a threat, including multiple lynel's at once, and was casually eating rocks. And when Ganon did arrive, he was more or less holding off 100 guardian's by himself, sure he got fucked up, but guardians are no joke the strongest foot soldier I've seen in a Zelda game. And it was probably for a few hours as well given the fighting started in the afternoon and ended by dead of night, like damn. And considering this nearly broke the master sword, this clearly has to be more intense than anything we've seen before, as that's not normal behavior for the sword to even get damaged. So to break it would mean something is stronger than every Ganon we've seen before.... Oh would you look at that, my second point, THE SWORD IS BROKEN, I DON'T CARE BY WHAT, FOR THE MASTER SWORD TO BE BROKEN IMPLIES SOMETHING IS STRONGER THAN EVEN DEMISE, WHO STRAIGHT UP COULD HANDLE THE GODDESS HYLIA BY HIMSELF, WHAT THE HELL? And he just doesn't care, he just goes and fixes it, all the while improvising with a stick and a rock. Oh yeah, I guess third point, he's got the widest arsenal of tools we've seen to date, from armors, weapons, healing, buffs, it's actually nuts to think about how he's just capable of countering nearly everything you could throw at him.
Just dependable on how you scale fierce deity link. Because if you take the description of the mask literally (turns you into a "dark god"), not even ancient arrows would save botw link.
Now with ToTK the Hero of the Wild has a good argument against the Hero of Time. Ganondorf is incredibly powerful, able to fight off 7 of the strongest warriors on the planet, who are all having their power amped by their secret stones, by himself without any difficulty. Rauru had to sacrifice himself just to temporally imprison Ganondorf. Now there is still some debate over how much Ganondorf was being boosted by the secret stone vs the triforce of power. We just know that they are both divine artifacts that greatly amp their users power. But we do know that Ganondorf had become so strong because of this that his very existence created monsters and decayed the very land of Hyrule. Just by existing Ganondorf was a world-threatening force.
I'm partial to a link to the past. He has staffs and magic that is pretty powerful too. And debatable, the strongest version of the master sword after being worked on and blessed again.
@@CRISIS_COMICShow so? LttP Link has a Master Sword that is three times stronger, COMPLETE with medallions that have insane power, the red and blue rings and armor, fought a stronger version of Ganon and won, etc. Would you please explain how Hero of Time is supposedly stronger?
@@hellzonefirebrigade3056 He doesn't want to explain. He's a shit debater. He pulls stuff outta his ass and is clearly biased. Like he never replied to ur stuff so I'm having to be very blunt with this dude lmao/
@@CRISIS_COMICS so what I'm seeing here, is that you will say someone/something is stronger, without providing ANY actual evidence to back up your statement. Seems legit. I'll stick to the knowledge that LttP Link is stronger than HoT Link until you can provide actual evidence 😊👍
This likely has to do with me not fully "getting" power scaling, as it seems more theoretical than practical. But a few gameplay things I felt you took for granted. Like light attacks aren't actually the speed of light in game. (Presumably because they have mass) Aside from nitpick like those, I would think that alttp Ganon was the result of his wish on the full triforce, and presumably more potent than just being enhanced by the ToP.
If you're calling me out for my thoughts on Ganon, that's fine it doesn't matter. But if you're referring to light attacks, no. They are not shown to travel at the speed of light. At least not in the 3d games. Elemental arrows fire at the same speed as normal ones. Dead man's volley is at a snails pace. The difference is most easily shown with gaurdians. Their targeting laser instantly appears on Link once in veiw. Whereas their actual attack takes a noticeable amount of time to travel the distance. This is why I gave the justification having mass, to explain what actually happens in game. I was simply trying to bring this minor oversight to your attention.
Couldn't it be said that The Hero of Legend is the strongest Link? As this version comes from the Fallen Hero timeline, meaning that the Hero of Legend killed the Ganondorf that Killed the Hero of Time in that universe?
@@TheRealVyke Yes ! Kratos's best feat was fighting against Zeus who threatened to destroy multiple alternate universes while Link scales to a goddess whose breath created Millions of Alternates universes. This is not a fight, it's à stomp.
I wouldn't say Ganondorf is way more powerful than Demise. Demise was never a threat to Hyrule as it had not been founded at the time he attacked and he never really had a chance to be a threat due to Hylia and Link defeating him before he could do real damage unlike Ganondorf who ruled over Hyrule for seven years and almost obtained the full triforce. So I would say base Ganondorf is definitely weaker than Demise as he's just a powerful warlock while with the triforce of power he's relative to Demise.
In the opening of SS, we see that Demise attacked Hyrule in the time of the living Hylia, when it was united and a functioning society. So that’s not true. Ganondorf > Demise
@@CRISIS_COMICS Hyrule wasn't founded yet, it's the kingdom that was created by Zelda and Link after they decided to live on the surface. There was no kingdom of Hyrule in the era of Hylia.
@@inenmity In the final boss, Ganon shows his only Triforce piece. The Story makes it clear that Ganon had not obtained the full thing. And Yuga Ganon came close, Link in skyward Sword used the full thing to seal the imprisoned, the King of Hyrule used the Triforce to wish for Link's victory over Ganon, and that's all that comes to my head at this moment to answer that question.
