He is so transparent bc he wants others to learn, is also self aware and is comfortable with himself as a man. When you stop caring what others think of you, you are free and can be your best self
@@legitrhythms4736 I like his music, but right now he’s playing victim and that’s not cool. There were examples of what this industry was about all through our music history from Cobain to Marley. When he became hot he was a grown man. Not some child raised in the industry. The lack of knowledge these guys display show exactly why they end up exploited. You sold yourself out long before you became a star.
The craziest part to me was when T-PAIN said in an interview that he NEVER charged for his features back in the day when he was popping and back then, he was literally on everyones song!! He didn't charge them because he thought when he needed a feature from these artists, he could just call them and get it done BUUUT they didn't return the favour and did T-PAIN dirty AF 👎🤦♂️.. T-PAIN literally gave some of those artists, the BIGGEST SONG OF THEIR CAREER and they STILL did him dirty AF 🤦♂️. The music industry is a wicked place bruh 🙄😔
Never in a million years would i have thought these two would be so laid back and humble. Pain seems so genuine and now that Steve-O's sober he's like a different person with his same charisma and vibe. Love the growth from both
@@jusrayne they do private shows. My sister was able to take a picture with Steve o .. they weren’t allow to record though. This was years ago. So they go way back
For sure. I watched a video of Steve-o the other day of him jacked up on all kinds of drugs and it was truly scary but amazing at the same time knowing he's clean and doing better now!
T-Pain is 10000% the GOAT. He was wayyy ahead of his time musically and people just didn't get it back in the early 2000s - especially with the auto-tune sound. He literally was the pioneer for that sound in the rap game and to this day sounds the best with it. Unique voice and highly underrated.
T-Pain capitalized off of easy process and letting heavy autotune do the rest, which became his signature sound. Basically anyone who does their own thing long enough will become familiar and accepted. He paved the way for heavy autotune vocals, and I would say introduced the idea to travis scott through his music, unintentionally.
This is why AUTHENTIC PEOPLE are the best. He's not hiding behind cliches, he's not wearing a mask to look cool, he's telling HOW IT IS and HOW IT WAS.
I was an undergrad when T-Pain was big in 2007 or so and I have a LOT of fond memories with his music playing in the background. It's refreshing to see how genuine he is.
Timbaland was killing the game in that era hands down. There was a point where every song on the radio was produced by Timbo.... Omarion Ice Box , JT , Nelly Furtado all that shit.
i cant go past a T-Pain interview without pressing play. dude is so down to earth, relatable and enjoyable to listen to. I could (and sometimes do) listen to him speak for hours...
Or idiocy. Come on man. He didn't know money isn't infinite? Cry me a river that he bought million dollar cars and 4 houses and refused to keep tabs on his bank account balance. That is just asking to be robbed or go broke buying shit you'll have to end up selling for pennies on the dollar. Did he never ever hear of a famous rapper named Hammer?
@@malenotyalc he just said it was transparent as in good to hear him being honest which he was. Nothing to do with his opinion on how T Pain handled his money.
I admire his self-awareness, his ability to take responsibility for his past, and most of all I admire how at ease he is with his past mistakes. That's not easy to do, coming to terms with embarrassing and avoidable mistakes in life.
Is he though? . Im hearing a lot of blame shifting like "out of all the rappers that came before me no one said it would be hard and if they had I would have held onto my money". I'm pretty sure most ppl are aware that it is really hard to make money of music and if you are lucky enough to make a hit that is one thing but to have longevity in the music industry is a whole other ball game that requires even more work. We are talking a very small percentage of ppl that find that level of fame and success. Wealth isn't easy to achieve everyone is aware of that. But It's great that he is trying to warn others to be more cautious and self aware I can't take that away.
@@rbeforme Yeah yeah grandpa, if its modern music it's not REAL music because back in my day we used REAL instruments like a GUITAR because all INSTRUMENTS stopped being INVENTED after the 1900'S and technology SCARES me because i don't know how to USE any other DEVICE other than a PHONE
If you take out this fact that he was a successful artist, this conversation is so relatable about what you would have done if you had the knowledge. I know I’ve been there.
I had the pleasure of working with T-Pain, I was only assisting on a session, but I was so suprised by how good he sings without auto-tune! This dude can legit sing his a$$ off! Easily one of the best singers I've ever heard in real life!
He did a video for the Onion AV Club. I was shocked by how great he was. The weirdest thing was he seemed to think that no-one would be interested in hearing him without autotune, and he was so amazing.
@@JuancoPRoFlow Man you in your early 20's everyone in your life is telling you that you are bouta be the biggest thing the world has ever thing you got models all on your dick you gonna be a little brainwashed for a bit. Clearly musically he is a genius mans shaped the entire sound of pop for the next 20 years with autotune even tho he has a fucking amazing voice
He’s so honest about his life and mistakes and successes.. he’s self aware of where he came from, where he went, and where he’s going now… much respect to him!
@@intoodeepstl314 I don't think so, judging by your RU-vid you just play slots or something. Again, literal WHO that would never be in the position that t-pain was with his music.
Damn, never really been a T-Payne fan but this changes things. So many rappers are guarded & have polished their projected image so that you only get a glimpse into their actual struggles thru blips in their verses. The humility & candid vibe he puts off is very refreshing. Like a good dude not someone trying to seem hard.
I love that he’s humble about the whole situation and there’s no shame in his game when it comes to talking about his financial issues. He’s learned from it, moved on, and can even laugh about it. Much respect.
This. This is what EVERYONE needs to hear. Cold hard facts about work, money management, and culpability in how it’s handled. Thank you for your honesty T-Pain!
tpain was king for some years during my middle school years 2000s he changed rap as a whole and made everyone ride his wave..i was a fan everyone was even the haters from hearing him so much
@Nunya Bizness hes brilliant singer and amazing vocalist, won the masked singer just by his voice only. the autotune was on purpose to create uniqueness, then every non singer start using it
Peace to T-Pain for being a real one, and not being afraid to be himself. I don't think there's many people who made it do his status, that would be able to be honest like him. It goes to show that he's a man of integrity, and he aint about the hype. GOD BLESS THE MAN!
Mad respect to T Pain. Pretty dope that he is out here talking openly about his financial troubles. Partied to his music back in my college years. Remember the TPain app? Dope
@@MM-ih8dh i wouldnt really call Tpain a rapper, thats selling him short, he can rap but he actually has talent beyond just talking about money, hoes and crimes lmao.
He was always a cool kid. He went to school back in Tallahassee with my oldest daughter. Heck the last time I was in Tallahassee his old house (before he got rich) was still there abandoned and the doors open. It was still in decent shape. Hope somebody saved it.
@@lawrenceware6279 Yea, I’m aware of that except this fuckin bone head is my neighbor and a habitual liar that’s why we all hate him including his kids smh
I love this dude, such a good honest person. The love your fans have for you will be worth more to you when you die then the money you've made/lost. Mad respect to you homie
The beautiful thing about making money is if you made it once you can make it twice. As a Man their is something beautiful and special about getting to the highest of highs and then hitting rock bottom and picking yourself back up and rising back to the top again. The second score is better then the first. You’re grateful, humble, philanthropic, empathetic and the best part of the journey is the self love and self belief that you have, once you, the Phoenix, rises from the ashes.
Naw you need a pro who's gonna be straight with you about stupid purchase once you get into the millions it's easy to mess up and the IRS dose not play around with normi millionaires
It shouldn't be hard to understand the difference between buying something like diamond covered rolex's and flashy cars that lose there value or buying things like land or investing in solid stocks that gain value, I can believe that MC hammer didn't know what he was doing but this has happened enough now for folks like t-pain to know better
I actually dont blame him for than mentality. Early 2000s were hyper in entertainment and his songs were diamond he has some hits! If I were in his position in 2010 I would've thought I was on my way to $100m
T-pain seems like a great guy, never listened to his music or knew anything about him until i saw his livestream and he seemed very down to earth and humble :)
T-Pain also went broke because he would schedule concerts and cancel them literally at the last second on everyone-He was my very first concert ever and we were driving and almost there and found out he cancelled on everyone
You act like he just woke up and was like “meh I don’t feel like performing today”. There’s a lot more going on behind the scenes that might not even directly involve him. You have to remember, he’s also not getting paid if he doesn’t perform.
@@modifidious7171 Of course but as much as I love T-Pain, I think he’s an awesome dude, he’s never had sustained continuous clout like that so let’s be honest here.
I gained a lot of respect for T when I seen him on a Dankpods stream. I never really went out of my way to listen to his music or anything like that, but from that stream I learned he is just a chill, down to earth guy like the rest of us.
@@stevek5600 He also said that it is something he could fix if he wanted to just by working on his vocal chords and voice. It isn't permanent damage. At least according to one of his videos.
I’m there with you on that not exactly a fan of the music but he seems like an intelligent well spoken guy and I absolutely respect that he makes music that people like good for him for getting his life back in order
I hate comments like this cause the thing is you really didn’t need to mention about not liking his music. It’s you’re opinion I get that but why not just say that he’s a great person? We don’t need to know how much you like his music
@@RSto1122 he just said he never like his music. He never said his music was trash or anything. He personally just dosnt like it. You know? Never bashed that he’s not a good artist or anything. Just my intake on this lol.
Thanks TP for your honesty you still made history & rock them charts btw never too late in life for that second act though keep make music in some form or another King
He seems very down to earth. It's like he's one of us that happened to make it big. Most other celebrities seem like they've always been hoity toity even if they weren't always that way.
Saw T-pain perform for about 500 college kids at my friend's private college in central florida in 2014, he went off like it was the fucking superbowl halftime show or he was performing at the grammys. I will always be a T Pain fan after that day
