Hopefully you respond to old videos, but have you heard of or experienced a vehicle that would not, while driving, go back into 1st gear after coming to a stop due to issues with the transmission vapve body. The vehicle im having trouble with is a 2011 Chevy Malibu, It gets worse/unusable when the vehicle has gotten warm but while it is cold it will slide into gears and drive. I scanned it and it gave off various codes for solenoids and cam sensors and high 02 sensor voltage and bad oil/filter as well as transmission control.

hi, is it a 6t40 trans?...always start with checking basics first...low battery voltage can cause multiple codes, modern day alternators only maintain battery voltage they don`t charge, as the computers can`t handle the power surges, make sure you have a good and strong battery...also make sure you have a good earth connection as often they just bolt strap to paint and only connection is through thread....sometimes winding bolt in&out few times will improve connection but spray some wd40 in there or conductive grease...do the same with all ( or as many you can ) electrical connections....as well as connections under dash as your a/c and heater can also cause condensation issues on the connections under there ( especially here in oz with ssangyongs ) ....then you can move on to checking solenoids which are likely contaminated as people dont service transmissions regularly with cleaning magnets ( always add more if you can ) and replacing filters ( hard to replace filters on some trans, but you can add magnets and inline filters on cooling line) if you need more technical help contact me through facebook link, we can exchange pics, vids on there and you now owe me some beers ( see my beer link ) ! cheers

What do you do if you have the opposite? I have a valve that is sticking or binding in its bore. I cleaned the valve body out, and have 1 valve (ratio control valve on a CVT) You can feel that it binds slightly. Its throwing a stepper motor code, but i believe because that valve is connected to the stepper motor, the computer sees an issue with that circuit, and sets the code. Just wondering if you've come across this and how you'd deal with it. Thank you

hi, you need to find a suitable tubing or plastic pipe to attach to binding valve and patiently work the valve through bore until it shuttles freely and easily. do not use paste or try file/emery paper on valve. if you damage the sharp edge on the valve it wont flush/push away contaminants and will cause sticky valve issue all the time. if the bore is too far worn, it may be time to either change the whole valve or get an oversize valve fitted from sonnax. often for a one off repair the rebore/oversize valve kit is too expensive so you can send it to get done. cheers

@@YepThatsIt Thank you for your help! I did look into an oversize kit, and you're right, the bit and valve is more money than purchasing a refurbished valve body.

im just guessing in general. im learning with everyone else here. i would run 400 grit flexhone through the bore. if you have access to a lathe. maybe check to see if the valve is bent at all. larry

Hi I hava a TR60SN 09D trans. valve body off cayenne 955 CTT 2004, how can I check if the solenoid still good or not? (are these solenoids 12v) can you recommend anyone can refurbish or upgrade this valave body? Thanks!

hi, sorry for delay in reply, we just got back last monday. you can test at plugs or remove and test on bench. it is always good idea to test solenoids warmed up as they often appear ok at room temp, but fail when they warm up. cheers
