It would be nice to see lower interest rates, lower inflation and a strong economy. Less money sent overseas, more money to rebuild our infrastructure. I guess it's asking for the moon.
Not sure anything needs to be abolished other than people need to stop thinking that either party has their best interests at heart. Our politicians on both sides of the aisle have prioritized re-election over everything else. I don't know that Jeb or I are big Kennedy supporters but he looks pretty good compared to our alternatives.
It is pretty weird in the rent vs buy debate that inflation is often not considered. Paying 7% for a mortgage avoids a 3-4% inflation in rent. If rent goes up 3% this year that's the new level in years going forward unless there's some black swan and rents go down a lot. IMO the true cost of a 7% mortgage is 3-4%. Income tax break on interest could lower that. And expected appreciation bring down that true cost down to about zero. Then you're in the game and able to take advantage of some lower rate and unexpected pops in appreciation. Some risk. But the risk of rent increasing a lot seems more likely to me.
Pretty spot on. It's shocking how everyone is acutely aware of inflation, even commenting on the high cost of rents, but failing to account for rent inflation going forward. Housing isn't risk free, but it's less risky than trying to rent for the next 30-50 years. Renting today can absolutely make sense but renting long term doesn't.
I never understood why people say " never buy a home during an election year". Maybe if a lot of people feel that way, that means a little less competition:)
If you think a Trump presidency full of mismanagement and incompetence or a world event couldn't drag us into a recession as financial experts you're being a bit disingenuous. It would serve you better to be honest about that part of your advice.
In November, you'll get to choose which incompetence you prefer whether you choose to acknowledge it or not. Nikki Haley actually said it best: "I have a lot of concerns about Trump regaining the presidency. I have even more concerns about Joe Biden being president." We're not partisan here. Both options SUCK. Unfortunately, we have "true believers" on both sides who think their guy is the solution when they're actually the problem. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
@@TheEducatedHomebuyer I don't know if I think either guy is a major solution to anything but I know one guy gave huge tax cuts to the rich as his only major accomplishment and the other just today cut max credit card late fees for all Americans, and has been forgiving student loans for hundreds of thousands at a time amongst many other things. I know for a channel like this it makes sense not to alienate a huge segment of your viewers so remaining neutral makes the most sense but if you are giving real actual grounded advice to potentially hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. There's kind of only one right answer if we're being serious.
@@chaoswitch1974 this is true. I can understand that companies tend to think good times are ahead with Republican Presidents but that does not factor in mismanagement. Bad management craters the economy during the last 2 or 3 Republican tenures. Companies clearly don't give a shit about people.
You're wrong @fliiguy247. President Trump and his team will save America. First, we have to drain the swamp and expose all of the corruption that has been going on these past 4 years.
